Affiliate marketing can be pretty tough for someone who’s never heard of it to fully understand. Someone who hasn’t been doing affiliate marketing for years probably isn’t even familiar with terms like SEO, article marketing, or even the simple stuff like ROI (or Return on Investment for the newbies.)

I’ve been personally marketing online for over a decade. I feel my youth slipping away. Yet, I continue to help readers all around the world understand that yes, they too, can make money online with affiliate email marketing strategies.

Affiliate marketing is the process of being a middle-man online. There are literally thousands of companies out there who have products to sell ranging from microwaves to cars or boats to tiny 2 page ebooks.

When you hear someone use the term affiliate it simply means that you get paid a commission to help sell someone else’s product. In the old days of direct mail this was called becoming a “jobber”. Since the internet has taken over the direct mail world in it’s paperless environment of emails and websites, the term jobber simply changed to “affiliate.”

Affiliates only get paid when they make a sale. You’re basically partnering up with what’s called a “publisher”. Publishers are the creators of whatever you’re going to sell. And your job as the affiliate is to find “leads” or meet whatever other requirements (sales, signups, or cost-per-action) that the publisher asks of you.

Newbies get confused with affiliate email marketing because there are literally so many thousands of different ways or venues or paths a person could take to make money online in this type of business. I always encourage new affiliates to sit down and really think about what sorts of offers they would truly be interested in promoting.

I, myself, have been heavily involved in informational marketing; the selling of ebooks, softwares, etc. to the internet marketing niche market. And that’s another tip you should probably know – select a targeted market or “audience” also known as a “niche market” for your advertising efforts.

You could sign up as an affiliate at a site like Clickbank and get a check in the mail two times a month for any affiliate commissions you earn. But, there is literally so much more you can do than just clickbank. And that’s where I come in, your 100% instant commission guru.

And what I mean by that is this… there are dozens upon dozens of affiliate marketers who are already publishing their own products now. These are ordinary people like you or me, who got into the information selling side of affiliate marketing.
