This is because the followers you will receive are mostly non-targeted. This means that the people following you have little or no interest in what you are tweeting about on Twitter.

Focus on quality over quantity. If you are using Twitter for business, it’s important that you have targeted followers. For example, if you are a wellness expert, you would want to target people who have an interest in health and wellness.
