Reciprocal links or link exchanges were the major ways of getting links from other sites or blog few years back. This was really effective at that time because the search engines accorded the needed regards to links gotten through this means. But that is not the situation today because Google and several other top search engines have since changed the way they look at links and the types of links they value.

Other link building strategies includes creating websites and publishing very quality and informative contents then wait for other website owners to link back to your because of the values derivable from your site’s content. This can be effective but the reality is that it will take years before some few links would start drizzling-in, that if they will come at all and this type of waiting game may not even work in certain types of websites.

Building links to your sites in today’s internet world entails finding ways of getting links that will only point back to your site without you reciprocating. One of the ways you can do is by adding the link to your site in the signature area of the blog comments you make on related blogs. You simply have to follow the peculiar rules of the blog and make quality comments as well publish informative posts. Doing this properly will help your comments to remain visible and appreciated by other blog visitors and the link you add would also be unique one way back link that points to your site alone.

You can also start searching related forums and other social media sites where you will post the contents that will contain link back to your site. The downside of doing this is that it can be very time consuming even though it pays in the long run. For you to get more values for your back link building efforts, you are advised to search certain types of domains such .edu and .org and try to link back to your site from them. This is because the websites or forums of these types of domains usually contain informative or educational contents which the search engines value so much. So if the .org or the .edu domain has content that relates to your niche, it will be splendid to get link backs from them.

You can also join some of the popular social networking sites, create keyword rich anchors texts and add the link to your site or blog. You may be tempted to join the flow of chitchats going on in many of these social network sites but the best thing to do is to remain focused on offering quality suggestions while you keep to your targeted keywords.

Using these few method of one way back link building method will help you site to be more valued by the search engines and if the tempo is retained at consistent level, your site or blog would soon start ranking higher than your competitors’.
