If you are reading this article then you are aware of the importance of creating a high converting landing page and how important internet marketing is to your internet business. A landing page is sometimes called a promotional page, jump page or a squeeze page and they are essential to the success of your internet business opportunities and generating a profit for an internet business.
When a web user clicks on your link from a search engine, organic or paid, they are directed to a website or landing page. You may have used a pay per click option, depending on your internet marketing opportunity, to generate the click through and then to generate the sign-ups, enquiries or sale. It does not matter what tactic you have used, the main purpose of the landing page is to get the internet user to convert or to take some type of action to your internet business and landing page.
I will start off by going over the first 3 steps that are renowned to be the starting points to any successful landing page. Each step will benefit your landing page and help conversions for your internet business.
Large, Clear Headline or Title. You must grab the attention of your web visitor with a large, clear, relevant headline or the web user will quickly bounce from your page and the rest of the internet marketing opportunity will not matter. Many professional internet marketers test multiple landing pages for different internet business opportunities at once to see which page proves most relevant for the web users. Here is an example, if the web user is searching for vintage cars, then the headline should read as this, rather than saying, “We have loads of cars for sale”. This headline is not relevant and as a result the web users that have come to your internet business landing page looking for vintage cars won’t get past the headline before they go somewhere else.
Visuals. Web users want information fast and will not trail through mountains of text to find it. You have heard the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words”, well this applies to an internet marketing opportunity as well. Images can get your message across quickly and with less effort so make sure that your landing page integrates images and visuals into the text in the form of different coloured text, pictures, diagrams, screenshots and/or video.
Testimonials. These are a great selling point for the web visitor as it assures the visitor that they are not on their own, and that the product or service is reputable. I don’t know anyone who has bought a product or service that no one has heard of or used before. People like to buy on recommendations and this applies particularly to internet business opportunities. Having these testimonials for your internet business removes the fear that people may have about your product or service and gives it credibility. Testimonials can be displayed by having a photo and quote, audio or a video as they all show the customers views and so all work.
