Six Methods to Generate Ideas For Your Internet Marketing Articles
Writing a âhow toâ or an informative article can be a great way to establish yourself as an internet marketing authority, while at the same time generating free leads for your business. For this reason, if youâre a newbie internet marketer I recommend writing one new article a day. It can be quite difficult however to constantly come up with new article topics. Listed below are some methods I use to come up with article topics.
1) Write About a Marketing Method You Use
If youâre new to the internet marketing industry, whichever company youâve joined will ideally have provided you with full training on marketing strategies. Do you market with Facebook? Twitter? Listjoe? Articles? Press Relseases? Google AdWords? Marketing strategies alone should give you 10 or 15 solid article topics. Simply write a âhow toâ article describing how to use each method for marketing purposes. You really donât need a lot of experience to do this. There are so many people out there right now who have no clue on how to do any of this that youâre already ahead of the game if you have any background in it at all.
2) Read a Marketing-Related Book
The book doesnât have to be purely an internet marketing-based book… it could be a book on how to run a business, business and mindset (one VERY important variable in succeeding in this industry is mindset, and there are plenty of books on the topic), or anything else somehow related to succeeding as an internet marketer. I was recently speaking to a friend who mentioned a chapter in a book he was reading called âThe 10 000 Hour Ruleâ. The 10 000 rule (based on fact) states that to become world-class at anything you will need to have spent about 10 000 doing whatever âanythingâ is. This apparently applies to literally almost anything… becoming a world class guitar player, hockey player, chef… internet marketer. Anyway, thatâs not the point here. The point here is that an article on this topic could easily be written and related to succeeding in the internet marketing industry. So open the nearest marketing-related book, go to a random chapter, and chances are you can likely write an article on the chapter topic. I am not advocating plagiarism… give credit where credit is due of course.
3) Expand on Previous Topics
Itâs likely whichever articles youâve written contain subtopics. A great way to generate new article topics is to expand on a subtopic of a previous article. Have you written about social media? Then maybe you want to write an article about each individual social media site. Then perhaps thereâs a specific topic about each site youâd like to expand upon. This method can be incredibly useful in producing a large number of new topics when youâre stuck for ideas.
4) Read Other Internet Marketing Articles
Again this is not to say that you should plagiarize. Simply seeing what other people have written about can have you generating ideas you wouldnât have thought of otherwise. Researching articles of specific people can also be great for coming up with ideas. If you know of any top producers in the industry, or people who do particularly well with article marketing, see what theyâve been writing about.
5) Speak to Other People in the Industry
Attend your companyâs live training or simply speak to other members of your company. Iâve come up with a few good ideas simply by chance through talking to my peers, i.e. the 10 000 hour rule (above). Additionally, your companyâs live training should expand on training methods youâre currently using, which should give you other ideas on what you can write about.
6) Read the News
Itâs no secret that the economy isnât in such great shape right now, but reading the news can give you specific ideas about what is currently happening. Is a specific sector or company doing particularly poorly at the moment? Whatâs one solution for people working in that company or sector? Starting a home based business in the internet marketing industry. Tagging your articles with keywords related to current events (keywords that people are searching for a lot) can help to generate a lot of views for such articles.
You should be able to come up with many solid article topics using the methods listed above. If youâre truly stuck, brainstorming should never be underestimated as well. Once you come up with a fresh new idea you may be able to expand upon it and create several more new articles.

Link building has always been an on-going process. There are many ways you can build links. One of the most effective way, is to distribute articles to well established websites. The more articles you distribute, the more inbound links you get.
But why the hurry to get high quality and relevant inbound links?
The bulk of the traffic actually comes from the search engines. You see, when you have hundreds and maybe even thousands of inbound links, your sites are more likely to rank well in the search engines. When someone searches for something that you have to offer, your content appears in the search results. That’s how you get a steady stream of traffic month after month.
There are literally thousands of sites on the Internet that you can send your articles to. For example, you can sign up with a blog network and post blog entries to a network of blogs. That is one form of article marketing. Or, you can write and post articles to article directories. Article directories will publish your content for free. In exchange for the content, you get to include 2 to 3 links back to your websites.
The only drawback with article marketing is that it can be rather time consuming. Writing an article takes time (probably about 10 – 15 mins, depending on how fast you can type). Distributing the articles take even longer, up to hours per article.
That is why if you are considering using article marketing to build back links, you should consider outsourcing. Focus your time, attention and energy in other aspects of your business. Spend more time on product development, building partnerships, and marketing. Let the service providers do all the work for you.
Still not convinced? Once you learn that where to find an article distribution service that offers to submit all your articles for you for , there is really no reason for you to continue doing all that mundane, boring and time consuming work anymore. For , you are essentially buying back your time. What you want to do with your time, is up to you.
One thing you have to take note of – beware of black hatters. What you want is to find an article distribution that really works for you. I.e. you want a service that is reliable, professional, and completely white hat. Everything is above ground. The problem with black hatters is that it’s very difficult to verify their claims. For example, a black hatter may promise to distribute your articles to four thousand article directories for . This sounds too good to be true, and it probably is. Trust your gut and intuition if everything in you encourages you to steer clear.
Outsourcing can save you a lot of time, but it isn’t worth it to be greedy. Stick with the professionals. You will know if they are serious about their businesses as soon as you place a couple of orders with them.

Here’s how it works: You write an article and submit it to several article directories. Those article directories are not your primary target. You want publishers related to your niche to pick up your article and publish it – on their website, their blog, in their newsletter, and wherever you might find targeted traffic related to your niche.
Every time one of these related website owners or publishers uses your article you get an inbound link from a relevant website. That is a trust building factor.
If you put your articles on your own website then you also encourage people to link to you because if your article is worthy anything – that is, it provides valuable content – then people related to your website will want to link to it. That’s another trust building factor.
Your article content itself is useful in building trust among your target audience. It also helps with branding and reputation management. The more articles that are out there on the web with your name on it the better, (as long as the articles are well-written and informative to readers).
People want to know that you are well-informed about your topic if they are going to do business with you. Great articles that help people learn more about your topic is one of the best ways to show that you are an expert on your topic.
Poorly written articles on the other hand can damage your reputation. Don’t buy cheap content like PLR articles if you really want to boost your reputation online.
Don’t buy content for your articles from freelancer websites where people promise to write your articles for an unbelievably low price either. If it sounds too good to be true you know it is.
Well-written articles on your topic can be written by you personally or you can hire a real ghostwriter to write them for you. But quality costs more. Average prices for well-written articles vary from around per article to over 0 per article.
When choosing a content provider, search for their name in Google. Look over the articles they put their own name on. Judge the quality from that, not from what they say on their website.
Article marketing works. It drives traffic, builds trust for your website, and can be used to increase your Page Rank. All it takes is a little hard work, a good strategy, and the drive to pursue it.
