What are Backlinks or Inbound links?

The backlink works great with the websites that is designed with high quality, well established and with good rank.
There are numerous techniques used in the internet market to gain from backlinks. Some of them are article submissions, Directory submission, press release, blog posting and social networking.
Why search engines consider backlinks to rank a site?
The search engine treat your website is like a Ballet Box. So, it takes every backlink to your site as a vote. Depending on the number of backlinks received, your website is branded in the search engine. The content plays the vital role in grabbing the attention of the audience. So, if you can post keyword rich and informative rich content, then you are sure to win the race. Back links are the links which are called the inbound links (IBL’s) or the inward links. The greater the number of backlinks is the greater the popularity of your website. It simply indicates the popularity and importance of your website. Backlinks are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query. When the search engines are calculating the importance and popularity of a specific website to a keyword then they consider the number of quality inbound links to that site. So you should not be happy that you have got some inbound links but you have to judge the quality of the links that you have got. So when it comes to exchange of links then always remember that exchange your link with some other quality links not with mass quantity of links and that can harm your purpose instead of do good for your website’s high ranking. It is all about quality link building in SEO.
Now quality of inbound links is determined by the fact that how much they are relevant for your site considering their content. If they are related to your website’s matter then they are really helpful to your site’s popularity. But you have to remember that irrelevant and unrelated content and their links are not of so much importance to you that you can get so much profit from those. But at the beginning you can pay attention on them only to be profited leaving no stone unturned. But this way of promoting your website is not so advisable and therefore if you are already a good position holder then it should be avoidable. As for example if you have a website about ornaments and then you receive another backlink from a website containing wedding ring collection then it would be more preferable than getting a link from a site about drug test. The more relevant the site is that is linking back to your website, the better the quality of the back link.

So always think twice before building a backlines. If your content and other site’s content do not match together or do not have even a far relation then it would not be considered as a quality link and would be, as seen in maximum times, wasted.

What is a backlink? What is an inbound link? Great questions really the answer is just what it seems. These are links to your website on other websites and web pages. Google’s Web Master Guide states that the crawlers that collect the data on your site and stores it in a database. The information collected is basically a count of words, how many of each is used, as well as where those words are on your site. The other data that the crawlers collect and count are links. Links to your site on other sites as well as the links on your website.
Your websites links on other sites each one counts as a vote. Some votes are more powerful than others. Think of it sort of like an electoral voting system where some sites have more votes can get out ranked if the votes hold less weight than others. The more links, that are quality links, into your site the higher your page rank in Google. Your page rank is a combo of traffic stats and inbound link totals, the more you have the higher your rank. The higher the rank of a website the more likely that site is to rank higher in search results than a website with a lower page rank.
How do you determine what links are good and which links do not have an effect on page rank and search results? Well the answer has a few determining factors. The very best links according to Googles webmaster guidelines are what are called “Natural”. Natural are links that are generated by the natural way of the internet, by someone linking to your content without your solicitation. Google determines what links seem to be natural by calculating the relevance of the content of the web page to yours, as well as the anchor text ( the text of the link that you click on ), and the page rank of the site that carries your link.
So the best way to gather natural links are to think virally. Why someone would share the content you website provides? Think video sharing, social networking , article submission, press releases, blogging, widgets, forums, Q & A, social bookmarking, and now you are starting to think virally. Some other good practices are to comment on blog’s that are not yours, participate in forum discussions, and stay away from spamming.
What are bad links? Well stay away from FFA’s, link farms, link trading, doorway pages,or any black hat methods of gaining links in a very fast, too easy to be true manor. If it seems like a trick, or a loop hole just forget it! Getting black listed from Google will null any efforts you made in the past. It is just not worth it. Also stay way from submitting your site more than once to search engines, or those sites that claim to submit you to thousands of other sites for a fee. Remember you want the links to be as natural as possible.
Backlinks or inbound links are a huge part of your efforts on getting search engine results. No doubt building your inbound links will increase your page rank and search engine results. Just make sure you do it the right way and take zero short cuts throughout the process. Slow and steady is almost always better than fast and cheap. Hire a professional SEO and web design agency that can map out a game plan and tell you exactly what they are going to do to get you results. Make sure you only hire companies or an agency that will do things the ethical way. You are responsible for the actions of the agency you hire and getting black listed from Google is next to impossible to reverse.

One of the keys to ranking well in the major search engines Google, Yahoo!, and MSN is having lots of links to your website. But sometimes it’s challenging to get those links â while once trading links was the way to do it, today it’s hard to get those links with quality websites. This is partly because there’s not a lot of room on those websites anymore, but it’s also because reciprocal links, the way backlinks used to be arranged, aren’t as attractive to the good sites. You get much more out of a link to a more popular site than they get out of a link from yours.

But if you offer something in exchange, your odds of getting that link go up a lot. The currency of exchange on the Internet is knowledge â quality website content. That’s why many webmasters are turning to article submission services to promote their websites.
Using Articles to Get Links
Original articles placed on other websites are a fantastic way to get links back to your site. Not only do original articles showcase your knowledge and skills, they also include something called a “resource box” at the end. This box contains your name with two or three lines of information about you and your business, and a link back to your website formatted in any way you wish.
Services like RCPLinks.com use original articles to place your one-way links. With specialized submission software, they can get your articles, containing your resource box, out to hundreds of websites. Once your article is posted, each of these websites will send out a one-way link to your site from that resource box; even better, the sites your article is placed on have good rankings on Google themselves.
Whatever Happened to Reciprocal Links?
Once upon a time, something like a year or two ago in the fast-moving world of the Internet, reciprocal links in which you agree to link to someone if they link to you were a great way to make your site look popular. But the techs at Google and other search engines figured this out. Their search engines have been cataloguing who links to whom for a while, and it wasn’t hard to figure out which pages linked to one another for no discernable reason except to spam links, and exclude those links.
This makes one-way links incredibly valuable. They’re the primary link type you can be certain will count for you in the search engine races.

Reciprocal Links: Not Dead Yet
Despite the controls the search engines place on reciprocal links to prevent artificial inflation of your site ranking, there is still a place for reciprocal linking.
Sites that link to one another and that have some similarity in content are the ones that search engines still use to add to your rankings. But you can’t do this with an automated submitter, though many online companies would like you to think you can.
