How To Build Links through Optimized Articles And Inbound Links

To Build links is important for website rankings, but building links is not the easiest thing to accomplish. When people get to know you hopefully they will want to link to your site. To help them along, give them some content they can’t resist.
Inbound Links
A website is your place in cyberspace. When people learn how great you and your products are, they can let others know about you. Linking to your website is one way to do that. It is also called a backlink. It is a link to your site on their website or blog.
There are two kinds of inbound links: reciprocal links and organic links. Reciprocal links are those that you get when you agree to swap links with another site. It could be a friend who wants to help you out and vice versa. Getting links like this is okay but not the best when it comes to moving up in the ranks. You have to look at the quality of the sites that you are linking with. They may offer to swap links but if the site is not optimized, reputable and/or well-presented it can backfire. You can be marked down for poor link building. And paying for links isn’t much better. After you have worked so hard on your site, you don’t want it to go to waste like that.
Organic links come from those who are not asked to link to you. They have heard about you (through your stellar marketing campaign) and want to let others know something awesome is in their midst. These links are rated higher by search engines. When you are just getting started it is hard to get links like this.
How do you get the links you need and want?
- Use your content to build links. Writing content that is optimized for keywords in your niche can rank high. Others will click on you first. Sites within your niche that are trying for those higher spots will check you out to see why they can’t knock you off the top.
- Establish expert status. Post content to article directories. Write for other blogs. Being found in other places increases your visibility and adds to your credibility. Everyone wants to be associated with an expert.
- Comment on blogs within your target market. Go to where your potential customers are. Give sound advice and add a link to your website. Pretty soon these people may become loyal readers who will link from their blogs to your website.

The Best Way To Build Your Website

Being an entrepreneur, I was anxious to stake my claim on the web and join the community of those who were making a living online. The only problem was, I didn’t have a clue how to build a website or the patience or time to learn all that code.
So, what did I do? I started a search for an easy website creator. My thinking was surely some ambitious entrepreneur had already realized the earnings potential of a website builder for the do-it-yourself person? As you can probably guess, I found one. Well, actually, I found quite a few. Of course, back then there weren’t nearly as many options on the fiber optic highway as there are today…so my selection was a bit limited when compared to today’s market. Back then was approximately six years ago, which at the speed of changing technology might as well have been the ice age.
I made my selection and started building a website. Was it easy? No. Remember I was inexperienced and soon learned that not all site builders are alike. My first attempt was definitely with a stone age product in a modern day world. Believing that all products, from a well-known company, are surely quality was my first mistake. While this company offered several affordable services and quality products, their easy website builder wasn’t one of them.
I began my search again. This time, however, I relied on the feedback from other website builders like myself. Hence, ask someone who has already been there, done that. After garnering a few referrals, I set out to try the mentioned services and finally settled on one.
Am I happy with my choice? Absolutely! So happy in fact I saved my money, earned on the web, and purchased a partner’s program with the company. You see, I was referring so many people to their services, I finally wised up and realized I might as well be earning from all those referrals….and now I am.
After much trial and error, I did learn a few important keys to online success and building a website. Here are a few tips to help you get started and stake your claim on the world wide web:
•Target your market. Don’t try to be a website for everything. Find your niche and fine tune your site to match.
•Stay away from dark background colors and wallpaper. Keep your site clean and easy to navigate.
•Add quality content. Keep your site content fresh and updated.
•Quality link exchanges do work. Exchange links with websites that fit the demographics of your site. Stay away from link farms.
Now that you have your website online, marketing and maintaining your site will be the key. It’s not like the movie, “The Field of Dreams – If you build it, they will come.” If you don’t market your website, guess what? They don’t come. It’s that simple.
Marketing is such a big and hot topic that I won’t go into it in this article, however, I do suggest doing a search on the web for keywords, “website marketing.” You will discover there are millions of responses and endless information and debate on what is the best solution. My experience: there is simply no one solution for this issue as the internet is ever changing and updating. Make time to read and learn about marketing your business online and locally. There are many great resources on the web which can help you stay informed and updated.

One of the most important aspects to keep in mind when building your landing page is how you will build trust between you and your visitor. You must make the visitor to your webpage comfortable in that first of all they have arrived at the correct page, secondly that they will not be afraid to opt in to your list and give you the information that you have requested of them.
There are a number of ways to do this, such as using what are called “trust symbols.” These trust symbols can be anything from a BBB logo to a secure website logo or any other widely recognized symbol of trust.
Do not clutter your LP with symbols just for the sake of it. Make sure that these symbols are widely recognized otherwise they can come across as a cheap attempt at gaining trust, which will have the opposite effect.
You can also build trust on your landing page through the clear display of your privacy policy link. Many auto responder opt in forms have their own privacy policy link underneath the form, but it’s in your best interest to also include your own website’s privacy policy.
In your privacy policy clearly state what information you collect and what you do with that information. Set your visitor’s mind at ease so they will not hesitate or object to filling out your form.
I do not recommend that you attempt to sell a product directly from your LP as this more often than not will not work very well. Your LP is meant to gather information so that you can attempt to make a sale of your own product or an affiliate product at a later date.
If for any reason you are selling a product directly from your LP it is extremely important that you have a guarantee for your product, such as a 30 day guarantee, 60 day guarantee, or even a 90 day guarantee. What ever it is make sure it is highly visible so the customer knows if they do purchase anything from this page they have the opportunity to return it and get their money back.
Another excellent way to build trust between your webpage and your visitor is to display testimonials on your landing page. A testimonial can be anybody that has used your service or product in the past and has volunteered their favorable opinion to you.
When you display a testimonial on your LP it is best to display the full name and location as well as a picture if available, of your satisfied customer. It should go without saying that each and every testimonial must be real and not made up.

Blogs. Social networking (Web 2.0). Forum marketing. Article marketing. Link trading and exchanges. Joint ventures. Search engine optimization. Video marketing. Press releases (almighty Google loves news!). Classified and display advertising. Pay per Click (PPC) advertising and the newer Cost per View (CPV) advertising. And the list goes on.Â
Every single business on the Internet constantly needs to build web site traffic, or visitors, no matter what they are selling. It is perhaps the one, single common denominator among successful web sites. You have no doubt heard a lot about the need to design a pretty site, with good navigation, using slick, tight ad copy, etc.Â
But there are many successful sites out there that are just plain ugly, or have a poorly written message. However, they all live or die with a steady stream of traffic! Â And not just any traffic. You do not want people coming to your site who happen to be wandering around the highways and byways of the Internet. These are visitors who just happened to be in the neighborhood, so to speak.Â
No, you want people who are interested in, and ideally, even searching for your product or service. Your online business survival depends on this selected or targeted traffic. So where to find it? Preferably quickly? Well, the experts and gurus promise truckloads of traffic using one of the methods I mentioned at the beginning of this article. They promise you that they have cracked the code, learned the secrets, hijacked Clickbank or Google, found how to dominate any niche, etc. etc.Â
Maybe they really have done what they claim. The truth, though, is that a regular stream of targeted visitors to your web site is hard to come by. It can be very time-consuming, tedious and frustrating. Remember, you are competing for attention with the other 20 billion (yes, that is billion, with a b) web sites on the Internet.Â
There are simply not enough hours in a day (or week!) to use all the above methods on a regular basis. So the conventional wisdom is to pick one or two that appeal to you, and spend most of your time on them. For example, if you like exchanging information and ideas with people, perhaps social networking is for you.Â
If you are a good writer, produce articles and submit them to article directories such as articlesbase.com. And so on. The important point here is to be consistent, persistent, and patient. Work hard. Most traffic-building methods take time to show results. The ones that may work faster, or even instantly, will cost you money. Perhaps a lot, with no guarantee of results.Â
This is the unpleasant truth, and price, of success on the Web. I do not know of anyone who got rich overnight. I do know marketers who toiled over a hot, sweaty computer for years, before becoming an instant, overnight success.Â
So how then, do we build web site traffic and attract that elusive, targeted visitor to our site? There are only a few ways, generally speaking. You can advertise, using banner ads, PPC, ads in ezines, and so on. Or you can use traffic generated by others. Setting up joint ventures with other marketers is an example of this.Â
Or, finally, you can create your own traffic by putting original content on your sites. This will (slowly) attract the search engines, and increase your web site ranking. Many of us use this option because it costs little or nothing, and it works. Combine it with a few of the methods I mentioned above, and you will be well on your way. Unfortunately, this process takes time, often a lot of your time, and it can be very boring.Â
The good news is, technology has galloped to the rescue. Today there are software packages that will automate much of this repetitive work, leaving you more time to work on creative tasks. This will save your sanity, and much hair-pulling. And maybe even your marriage. After all, we work on the Internet because we do not want, or cannot find, a regular, 9 â 5 job. So we do not want to go absolutely crazy from long, monotonous tasks.Â
If you are very lucky, or have something that is truly new or newsworthy, then one of your articles, videos or blog posts might go viral. This means it will spread from person to person to web site at lightning speed, just like a real virus. This is a fantastic traffic generator for you, but is very difficult to pull off. It usually happens by accident, or unexpectedly.Â
Traffic generation is an ongoing process, not something you do only once and then forget about. Concentrate your efforts on one or two techniques or approaches, set up a schedule for what you will do each and every day, then do it. Automate the tasks whenever possible. One thing you share with the top, successful marketers is that you, and they, have only 24 hours in each day. They use those hours productively and wisely. You must do the same.

Inbound Links – 8 Ways to Build Visibility
By now, you’ve probably heard that inbound links are critical to helping your site show up at the top of the search engine results. So what exactly are inbound links? Inbound links are one-way links that point to your site from another “site†on the web; however, not all inbound links are created equal. The inbound links that will help you the most are those that come from authority web sites, industry and/or expert blogs, social networking sites, and other quality sites that provide solid, one-way inbound links to your web site (see the section on inbound links in the previous article, above, for additional details). But how do you actually get those quality, one-way inbound links that point to your web site?
Here are eight techniques you can use to build the types of inbound links that will not only help your site perform better in the search engines, but can also help improve your web visibility and drive new traffic to your site at the same time!
Social Networking: This web phenomenon is just too important to ignore. The major search engines have already announced that they now include social networking information in their search results, and the number of people using these sites continues to grow exponentially. This is where your customers are “hanging out†online (the fastest-growing demographic in Facebook is users over the age of 35). This is also where the search engines have told you they are looking for information. If you are truly interested in building links and getting noticed, it’s time to get serious about a social marketing strategy. (And do consider using an Integrated Social Marketing (ISM)® approach!)
Press Releases: Sending out press releases is one of the fastest ways to build quality inbound links, as well as promote news about your business. Just be sure to use your keywords as links in the body of your press release, since these then become the inbound links to your site once the release is picked up.
E-Newsletters: Publishing a monthly (or weekly) e-newsletter is a great way to stay in touch with your customers and prospects, as well as keep your business name “top of mind†with your readers. But when you publish useful, quality information, people will naturally pass it on to their own network of contacts, which has the potential to plant multiple inbound links to your web site each time an article is shared on the web.
Article Syndication: Re-use the articles from your e-newsletters by syndicating them on article marketing sites. Include a keyword-rich author resource box (your contact information and bio), with links back to your web site. Your links will be visible not only on the article marketing site, but also each time someone else re-publishes your article as content elsewhere on the web (blogs, web sites, e-newsletters, etc.).
Blogging: If you don’t already have a blog for your business, you may want to consider adding one just for the boost it can give your web site in the search engines! Most search engines index blog posts almost instantly, and you have complete freedom to use your keywords in the content of your posts as well as using them as link text, both of which will help you gain points with the search engines.
Google Alerts: You can use the free Google Alerts service to help identify other quality blogs and web sites where you can plant inbound links. For instance, if you set up your Google Alerts service to monitor the keywords “office suppliesâ€, Google will alert you when it finds web sites and blogs containing those keywords. You can then go visit those pages and leave a comment and add your link, (depending on the content of the page, of course). Just be sure to leave valuable information in your comments, and not just your link. You want your comment to not only be approved, but to also flow naturally as part of the discussion.
Web Videos: Research shows that using video on a web site improves user engagement and retention, and today’s video sharing sites like YouTube make it easy to publish and share videos on the web. Video files can also be “optimized†with keyword tags, and can be linked back to your web site. Video sharing sites also let you share videos through your social channels as well, giving you even more opportunity to plant inbound links to your site in various places around the web.
Viral Marketing: If you have a whitepaper, e-book, or presentation just sitting around gathering virtual dust on your computer, consider taking it viral. Give it away for free, and encourage people to pass it around to their network of contacts as well. Make sure the piece has plenty of links back to your web site, since the piece may end up being posted in lots of different channels on the web.
By using these techniques, you can help build the quality, one-way links that your site needs in order to improve in the search engine rankings. You may not be able to use all of these suggestions, but you can use as many different techniques as makes sense for your particular small business. Since many SEO professionals estimate that about 60% of your web site’s ranking in Google comes from the number of quality inbound links, it makes sense to give some serious attention to building inbound links to your site.

…No they won’t. On the web, building a web site is not enough. If there are no links to the site anywhere, no-one is going to visit it. The site won’t even be listed in any of the search engines without some incoming links. To get traffic, you will need to do some promotion.<br><br>Web Directories
The basic part of any promotion campaign, web directories, whist they may not generate much in the way of traffic, will help in your site’s search engine ranking. A good list of free, non-reciprocal, search engine friendly directories can be found at http://info.vilesilencer.com.<br><br>Pay Per Click Advertising
This is advertising such as PPC Search Engines, like Yahoo!’s Overture, and contextual advertising, like Google’s AdWords. Be warned, it is very easy to go through a substantial amount of money for no reward using these services if you are not careful. AdWords (amongst others) lets you pick a maximum budget a day, but, although may not sound like much, /day is 0+ per month. Better make sure your keywords are correctly identified, and, in preference, not highly competed on, and that your sales copy is good enough before doing this.<br><br>Quality Traffic, not Just Traffic
It’s what everyone is after, more traffic to their website. Traffic is easy to obtain, though. Autosurfers, manual hit exchanges and purchased traffic will all send visitors to your website. However, this traffic is just visitors, many of whom will just burn up your bandwidth for no reward. Unless you are receiving decent money for pay per impression advertising, such as banners and popups, this traffic can be totally valueless.<br><br>Repeat Traffic
Unless you only require visitors to visit your site once, because you are selling a one-off product, and your sales copy is fantastic enough that they are hooked to buy on the first visit (and if you are regulary doing this, write an ebook explaining how and sell it), you will want visitors to return. If there is nothing of value at your site, visitors may come once, but they won’t come back of their own accord. Typically, it is estimated that a prospective customer will be exposed seven times to a product etc. before buying.<br><br>Reciprocal Linking
Whilst somewhat frowned upon, and generally thought to not be as valuable as one-way linking (see below) for search engine optimization, a relevant reciprocal linking campaign can be an important traffic generating tool. swap links with sites in a related, but non-competing, business to your own. It isn’t really a good idea to link to competitors; although visitors will be interested in your product, there is a good chance you will lose them to your competitor, especially if their website or product is better or looks better than your own. Not a desirable outcome. For example, a web hosting site could link to a site that sells scripts and programs; visitors to one will more than likely use the other, but the sites are not in direct competition. You can also swap links with web directories that require a reciprocal link.<br><br>One-Way Linking
Considered the best form of link for SEO purposes, this can also be a good source of traffic. There are a number of ways of getting one-way links. The easiest is submission to free web directories (see above). Another good source is by writing articles relevant to your site or industry, putting a resource box at the bottom, then posting the article on the directories such as <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.zapcontent.com”>ZapContent.com</a>, or by sumbitting to the ezines. Webmasters and ezine publishers are always in need of fresh content, and will publish your article for free.
