So, you’ve been busy with a web designer for a couple of weeks now. They’ve given you a great bargain on a cms, but there’s something not quite right. The design looks very amateur. Like it’s meant to entertain visitors above 70 years old. They also ignore a lot of your technical related questions, or you feel the answers aren’t satisfactory.
Well, it looks like you’ve went and gained a non-web designer to construct your website. Is this a print company you went to see? Possibly a friend, or neighbour? Someone who has a full-time job doing something altogether un-related, but dabbles in web design in their spare time?
Well, here’s the bad news….It’s your fault! What????, I hear you say.
Put it this way. Web design is a very brutal trade to master correctly. It takes years of ui design training, examination, coding, improving, and most of all, acquiring the new technologies as they arrive. You’re more than likely in the group of people who clearly don’t understand the complexities of web design. Hence the reason you’ve asked a printer (un-related business) or someone else with minimal web design and development experience.
Now, If I was one day decide I wanted an extension on my house. I’d look around and see a lot of nice extensions that I like. Maybe using the internet, or a few company brochures. What if I just said, hey, I like this one, and instead of going to a professional building/design company, I asked my neighbour Carl (He’s a surveyor or something, and knows about building houses).
Well, welcome to the universe of web design. The only deviation is there are no regulators and just about anyone can pass themselves off as a web designer. Yes, even printers. They’re quite blameworthy of the linking print and web design together. Offering packages such as “E-commerce 9. Now, firstly, this is entertaining. No professional web designer, ever, would even attempt to sell e-commerce for ?299. E-commerce is a lot of work and takes loads of time to plan, design, code & implement. Not to mention any additional SEO work if you require overtaking any competition in the SERPS. What you’re buying here is nothing but junk. Not only that, but you’re buying the same looking junk as every other no-budget harry.
So, what can you do? Here are some no-bull tips in helping you find a good web designer.
A web designer’s full time employment, is a web designer. Not a printer, brick layer or games designer. But a WEB DESIGNER. Sometimes it might be changed slightly like web ui designer, or digital designer. But their job is a full time web designer, nothing else.
At no time hire someone to design and develop a website, whose job title is “Web Master”. This is nothing to do with web design and development. They look after site content/members.
You’re not going to get a good website for a few hundred quid. Forget it! A good website will cost you no less than 00. And that’s just the basics.
A good e-commerce website will cost you no less than ,000 and monthly fees for SEO if required. Do you really think amazon is build using cubecart or oscommerce? Think again.
Good designers don’t use templates for your main website. You’d look the same as 1000 other sites. Good designers know you need to stand out and have your own presence
A good web designer will have loads of examples of their work. Ask to see them. Make sure there is plenty of LIVE sites and examples.. Ask to see the website visitor statistics. The part your interested in is, “Unique Visitors Per Month”. Not hits or any other form of confusing banter.
I’d say the list above should keep you safe. Maybe you’ve already been through the above, and have learned your lesson. You don’t get anything for nothing. I wish I could phone my local BMW dealing and ask for an M3 for 9, but it’s never going to happen.

Online competition to capture the market is very fierce, so achieving success by effective internet marketing techniques is not an easy task. Lots of hard work, far-sightedness and patience is needed, you cannot achieve the desired results in a fortnight. There are certain pitfalls that has to be considered if you are doing online marketing. Especially the ones that are new to this field need to be careful and avoid committing certain common mistakes.
Many times internet marketers are not so dynamic and fast in preparing the efforts for marketing. As soon as a website is created, steps should be taken to market it and take appropriate steps for it. It takes time to setup the advertising accounts and online advertisements. Prior planning helps in setting up the schedule for administration and advertising. Thus yielding better results from the marketing efforts.
Ask your internet marketer to have a plan for achieving the goals in order to get positive outcome of marketing. You can take reference from successful internet marketing strategies of other websites and take useful tips from them. Prepare a list of goals that you want to achieve and work towards them.
For any internet marketing project setting up a budget is very important. You need to divide the total amount of money and channelize in the right directions. It would definitely brings in long term success. If you commit any mistake in handling of expenses, it could hamper your business. If you have a fixed budget it would not be a good idea to try every technique for online marketing, but you can shortlist the most practical solutions.
Internet marketers would provide you ample of offers and solutions for marketing, out of which you have to select the most appropriate one for your business. Don’t get carried away by the enticing offers if its not relevant to your project. It is always better to do some amount of research, as it would gives you the access to many good online resources for website marketing. Before purchasing any new resource or tool evaluate its features very carefully.
Many times resources are spend on unproductive advertisements and websites. So keep regular tracking of the ads and links you are working on. Calculate the output of the online program you are participating in. The ads should be written in proper format and have attractive punchline.
Thus create a successful online business by keeping some basic guidelines in mind.

Google today evaluates the quality of each link to numerous criteria to surface the sites having only premium quality backlinks profiles.
So it has to be done in an efficient manner, I would recommend
outsource Link Building Campaigns to experts rather than trying yourself.
People want quick results , they under estimate the importance of relevant links. Most of the time back links are from websites which are irrelevant.Thus hampering their own SEO Campaigns in long run.

2. Also when there will be high quality incoming links the site will also be seen as a valuable resource.

All too often, people are so overzealous about building links on high PR websites that they fail to pay attention to the rankings of the actual pages where their links are published.
Having links on high PR sites is less worthwhile if they are added to dark, dusty, forgotten pages. Targeting high PR sites is always smart, but be sure to dig a little deeper before moving forward.

Thus, it is also important that you build your site in such a way that it will be highly intuitive and easy to use for your visitors. Also, a simple and pleasant looking site layout out is sure to attract viewers.
You also need to be aware of some of the most common mistakes in internet marketing one mistake that you definitely need to avoid is overdoing your advertising efforts. This one is actually very common, as marketers attempt to get as much attention. However, as it turns out, consumers will definitely hate it when they get too much spam messages advertising your products or services. Thus, it would be better if you control the amount of marketing materials that you send to your prospective clients.
Another one that you need to avoid is making too many promises. This is also a common tactic used by some marketers in order to bait their customers. Keep in mind that, no matter how harmless that fake promise bight have been, such a move will surely discourage visitors from coming to your site. You should therefore always stick to the real deals that you will give to your customers.

You have website. You may have built it yourself or may have
hired a proffessional to do the job for you. Now that its up on
the net, you would like to know how well is it doing and what
are the ways to find it out.
We will start from the scratch. And we will take only google
into consideration for better and easier understanding of
fundamentals involved.
In Google Search Engine type your url and check how many pages
of your site have been indexed. Better still, find out a “free
link popularity tool” and see how many pages have been indexed
by google. `Indexed’ means, pages that google has taken
cognizance of. When google has not yet taken a note of existence
of your site or some of its pages, under such instance when you
type the url in search engine the message “google has no
information about this page” appears. IN the opposite situation
” Google has the following information about your site” flashes.
After google indexes your page or site, it keeps a constant
watch on it, in terms of changes made to the page, improvements,
additions etc. And after keeping a vigil and finding it upto the
mark (or moving towards it), it gives a rank to the page. Google
ranks all the pages of your site separately. Each page is a site
fo it. So you a webmaster has to make sure that each page is
well designed, tightly themed and well optimized. Page Rank
these days takes anywhere between 3-4 months for an average,
beginner’s site. Tho there are exceptions, generally it takes
time. Inexing happens in a week’s time after your site ahs been
launched or new page has been added. Sometimes lesser than that.
To find out the rank of your site or indvidual pages (as well as
your competitor’s), you need to download the Google Toolbar. The
tool is simple and free to download and install. Its the most
widely used tool across the net, by webmasters. A grey line
indicates penalized site. Green indicates PageRank and epmty
white bar is a site that is not yet ranked.
A more advanced and realistic way to find out how well is your
site doing and moving up the search engine is by checking link
popularity of your site. There are free tools available online
which will indicate your link popularity in variuos search
engines.
The more sites link to you, the better is your link popularity.
The better your link popularity, the better. In terms of
traffic, sales and profitabilty.
The free tools also give details of sites in your category which
are doing better than you or are at the top. When you look at
their statistics, you will be in a better position to judge and
improve your own site. You can always go to their site and have
a look at it. You may be able to find reasons which draws so
much traffic to it.
In short – pages indexed by spiders or variuos search engines,
is first good news. Pages ranked is second good news, and
`steadily increasing’ link popularity is the third and msot
important good news. Best news rather. One has to constantly
work on improving one’s link popularity. The more sites link to
you, via link exchange, apdi advertising or articles..in
whichever way you get linking from highly ranked site, it works
in your favor.

I believe I saw a random Twitter from a CEO the other day that stated he could not stop staring at the gentleman’s toupee in his meeting and he swore he was going to lose the deal because of it. Hilarious! He may have lost that deal but I sure as heck went online to check out his site chocked-full-o-milkshakes to lose weight. I wonder how many others did the same. Download an app such as Twitterfon or find a few others that may work for your phone choice and get to tweeting.
