Why You Need Top Landing Pages To Increase Your Online Profits

All the products that you want to sell online are ready. You have already signed up with the Google Adsense program or with other affiliate marketing programs and you have already prepared the ad you want to post on your affiliateâs site. Your mind is now set to being the next most successful online businessman. But is there anything else that you might have forgotten to prepare? Maybe none. But how about your landing pages? Are they all set for your business?
Landing pages are simply web pages where visitors are directed to whenever they click a result in a web search or whenever they click a web ad. For affiliate marketing, landing pages would refer to the web page where you, as a merchant, would want your potential customer to be directed after clicking your ad on your affiliateâs website.  Landing pages are, at most times, nothing really different from other web pages in a particular website, especially if the said website is an e-commerce site. Some online businessmen would even use the homepage of their websites as the landing page for their ads. Are these businessmen making a big mistake? Or should you follow their method in creating landing pages for their ads?
Well, you can always follow what most online retailers do, directing their potential customers to the homepages of their websites. But if you want to achieve something more from your online business, and if you want to earn a lot of profits, you better create a special landing page for your web ads. Why? Here are a few reasons why you need to use landing pages for your web ads. And take note, it would do you a lot better if you create a great landing page than a so-so one.
Reason no. 1: It is the only way you earn conversions in an affiliate marketing program.
There are a variety of affiliate marketing programs today, but most of these programs let the merchant pay the affiliate in a pay per click basis. Basically, all you have to do is sign up with the program and submit your ad. The program owner would then distribute your ad to various affiliates who would then place your ad on their websites. Whenever your ad is clicked, a visitor would be directed to your landing page and you would have to pay the affiliate for his service.
As a merchant, you earn in an affiliate program through conversionsâthat is whenever a visitor that is directed to your site actually buys a product on your site. Without these conversions, you actually earn nothing from the program. Also, the more visitors that your affiliates have directed to your site, the larger would your expense be. And the only way that you can recover from these expenses is through conversions.
Now, you sure won’t get any conversion if you have posted an ad on your affiliate’s site without an actual landing page for the potential customer to be redirected into. It’s just like advertising a product without actually having a store to sell your product. Your advertisement may be enticing enough to encourage people to purchase a product, but without the landing page, how will they know how to purchase the product
It is therefore important to have landing pages for your ads because it is the only way for you to earn something in an affiliate program. Without landing pages, all you do is spend money paying your affiliates without actually getting anything in return.
Reason no. 2: Other web pages may just not be enough.
Many people make the mistake of making their website’s homepage as the landing page for their ads. The same is true for those who make use of other pages like a “contact us” page or a product page. Homepages are often designed to serve multiple users and contains a lot of links to other pages or to other websites. The same is with the other two pages mentioned. If you want to be successful in an affiliate program, we’re sure that you don’t want your landing page to cater to the needs of various people, most of which may not be really interested with your product.
When choosing a landing page, you must always have the customer directed into that page in mind. Therefore, your landing page must be relevant to the keywords and the contents you placed on your ad. It is also important that the landing page can induce your visitor to take actionâthat is to purchase your product or at least provide leads for potential customers.
Final Word
You probably entered into an affiliate marketing program with these things in mind: to save on advertising expenses and to gain more profit. But if you get into an affiliate marketing program without actually having a landing page, you’ll end up paying too much without getting anything in return. So if you still don’t have a landing page for your ads, you better start creating one now. And don’t get us wrong; it isn’t enough for you to have just a landing pageâit should be a great landing page!

Making your site attract traffic is one of the best ways you can use to drive traffic to your site. Of course there are plenty of things you can do off site, but why not start with these 4 on page techniques to drive traffic?
Keyword Research
If you choose good keywords to base your posts on you will find you attract very targeted traffic. You can make a large list of keywords related to your site and then choose keywords each time you are ready to post to write about.
Customize Your Blog
This won’t necessarily drive traffic to your site, but once you get them there it will help keep them there. A blog that is unique to you and your content is going to make people immediately believe your content is unique and worth reading.
Even if all you do is pick a theme other than the default theme you are on your way. You can take is as far as changing the header image, to having an entirely unique theme created just for your site.
Answer Reader’s Questions
Once you start getting traffic you will start getting questions. They will show up in comments, as well as your email box.
When you answer questions from your readers it makes them feel good, and when they feel good about you they feel good about your site. They will then tell their friends about your answer, and your site.
A trusted referral is probably the best traffic you can get. They will already be open to knowing, liking and trusting you, which makes buying from you even easier.
Create a Link List aka Linkbait
If you are blogging about your topic you probably know plenty about it, if not you can easily do a little research and find the information. What you want to do is create a list, the longer the better related to your blog topic. Start leaving comments on blogs, use this post in your signature on forums, just get people to your link list.
Linkbait is called this because it baits people into linking to your site to share this huge list with others. You can get untold amounts of links, quality links, back to your site by using this method.
If you start working on driving traffic from on page efforts the off page efforts will be even easier. If you customize your blog, do your keyword research, and answer questions you will gain favor of your readers. Create a linkbait post and you will find that good will and your quality content turns into quality links.

There will be times when you simply want to take a day off or two, but particularly in the beginning of your online marketing campaign, you should spend each and every day doing something that will help to promote your website.
This may be Search Engine Optimization, email marketing, website advertising or website promotion, whichever needs to be done at the time. The important thing to remember is that you need to do something, anything every day. If you are working with direct marketing, you could spend some time each day working on upsells that can help you to increase your daily income. There are always things that you can do to improve your online business. Perhaps you have been considering a new website design. You could spend your daily time researching different designs and/or designers and getting your site’s new look underway. Whatever it is that needs to be done, be sure to spend some time each day working on your online marketing.
Spending time on daily tasks is particularly important for affiliate marketing. Be sure that you spend some time drawing awareness to your affiliate site, publishing articles that will bring in visitors or posting on blogs. These things take little time and can reap great rewards.
Another marketing strategy to keep in mind is to familiarize yourself with marketing materials and information. You can spend just an hour each day reading online marketing books and reports or attending marketing seminars in your area. There are thousands of internet marketing websites that can give you loads of information, tips, advice and techniques that can help you to improve your ROI. Be sure to spend some time each day taking full advantage of all the marketing information that is available.
If you have not yet begun a blog, then now is the time. A blog can help you to increase awareness to your site, as well as make you known as an expert in your field. Once people realize that you have regular blog posts about what you are marketing, they will begin to trust you more, giving you more visitors and more profit. Blogging regularly can also help to keep your name and the name of your company on the tip of your visitors’ minds.

Try all the techniques of marketing to see which one or ones give you the best results.

Allow us to capture a look at a swift and simple way to immediately increase your revenue from a first time customer. It is called, upselling, and it is a very effective strategy of offering one or more added products at the point of sale that will enhance your clients main purchases.
You have already persuaded your clients to purchase from you. At this point, you have won their trust and respect. Thus it requires very small extra effort on your part! And by and large, after people have made the decision to buy, they are much receptive to other offers, if you catch them while they are in a buying mood! In fact, our testing shows that a enormous high percentage of people will purchase a second product!
However, in order for this approach to be effective, you must make sure that what you are linked to your main item. By all means, present some specialty coffee if you are selling a coffee pot, but do not try to sell coffee to someone who’s purchasing computer parts! As long as you present something that is directly linked to your main item, you can easily improve your revenue from that sale.
Make the most of the worth of your on hand customer base to skyrocket your revenue. Remember: Your first-time customers always cost you the most. Instead of spending all of your time, money, also energy drawing more first-time guests to your web site, devote more time to the relationships you have established with your current client base!
Your current client base is a gold mine. In fact, backend sales to your on hand clients can improve your revenue significantly. That is why it’s thus critical that you follow up with every person who purchases from you!
So how do you get in touch with your on hand client base?
One excellent follow-up approach is to use programmed sequential offers to pull buyers back to your site. E-mail your clients after the initial sale, thanking them for their purchase, asking them if they have any questions? Also offering a related product.
An alternative strategy is to use e-mail to dispatch new offers and special promotions. You can target your e-mail communications to clients based on their history with you. For example, you can send a special promotion to all your first-time customers. Or, you can send a thank you promotion to your long-term repeat customers. In each e-mail, include and present a product or service related to their initial purchase.
Not sure what you can offer as a backend item? Here are just a few ideas:
present a linked product they’re likely to be interested in
present added of the same product
present an upgrade to the initial product
offer a service that assists with the use of the product
present a service to apply the product for them
present information to improve the use of their product
present other people’s products for a commission
Make sure you time your offers for the greatest success. send out your follow-up offers 3, 7, also 10 days after the initial buy. These are the times when new clients are most likely to make a SECOND purchase. If you’re not following up with your clients, you are literally leaving a percentage of your proceeds on the table!
Generate massive proceeds by starting an affiliate program. How would you like to improve your search engine rankings and exponentially improve your proceeds? Well, if you start an affiliate program, you can do just that.
Developing an affiliate program is an incredibly powerful way to market your product or service online. It involves allowing other people to promote your products or services for you. And the best part is that you don’t have to pay them a penny unless they send you a sale!
It is not difficult to set up an affiliate program, and the benefits of doing it are enormous. Your affiliates can send you a great deal of traffic. Using banner ads, text links, also e-mail promotions, your affiliates can dispatch droves of folks to your web site. Your site can skyrocket to a top ranking in the search engines. Not only will you acquire a host of inbound links from your affiliates, your content will spread to the far reaches of the internet resulting in a drastic rise in your search engine rankings. You can reduce your advertising costs. Since you will have reams of highly motivated affiliates selling your products for you, you will not have to spend money driving traffic to your site. The key to getting the most out of your affiliate program is to attract the attention of very motivated affiliates by offering lots of incentive: generous commissions, also tools and resources that will help them to succeed.
Form strategic alliances with other businesses to ramp up your profits, expand your skill set, and present your clients high-quality products and services. Forming partnerships and also joint ventures with other businesses for a share of profits is a great way to ramp up your income in a major way. For one thing, when you combine your skills, products, services, and resources with another business, you create new streams of proceeds and profit and expand into new markets. You also bring added worth to your existing clients. The key to getting the most out of a strategic alliance is to seek out products or services that complement yours and will benefit your guests. Then approach the companies that provide those products or services. Ask them if you can recommend their products or services on your web site for a portion of the profits. Generally companies will gladly agree to this arrangement. After all, it is no risk for them if they have to pay you only when you refer a paying customer. It is a win-win situation that is going to generate a LOT of additional revenue!
So, get out there and start selling.

The first thing that you can do to increase the amount of time your visitors stay on your website is to create your website in such a way that users find it easy to maneuver around. Organization is the key when it comes to creating an effective website that will appeal to your visitors. Without organization and proper structure, your visitors may become frustrated and move on to another website that is easy to navigate and understand. Sure, it may take a little time to set up your website in a manner that is structurally fit for the novice internet surfer, but if it is done correctly, you will immediately see results!
The second thing that you can do to increase the amount of time that your visitors spend on your website is to create valuable content. This means that you should create content that is loaded with a lot of useful information, is written in a simple and precise manner, and will interest those in your website readership. Many website owners simply through together content that is keyword stuffed and contains a lot of word “fluff”. While it is true that integrating keywords is a core element to internet success and search engine rankings, if it is over done, you will lose the interest of the traffic that you receive.
The third thing that you should do to ensure that visitors remain on your website is to avoid the temptation to decorate your site with lavish graphics. It is important to understand that there are still individuals who rely heavily on the use of dial up modems to connect to the internet. When visiting a website that carries a heavy load of graphics and other items, it can take a long time to appropriately load a page. Many, when experiencing heavy load times, will back out of a website and visit another one that loads more quickly. You can keep your website looking professional without the heavy burden of graphics, animations, and flashy backgrounds.
The fourth thing that you can do to ensure that your visitors remain on your website is to produce activities that are interactive. Individuals who are given the opportunity to interact in the virtual world are more likely to remain at a website for an extended amount of time. You may want to place a forum on your website where visitors may chat with each other. You may consider placing interactive quizzes and polls on the website. Many website marketers are starting to implement the use of the online gaming industry in order to maintain a steady stream of consistent website traffic.
The fifth thing that you can do to ensure that your traffic stays on your website for an extended amount of time is to offer one or more free products. You may offer free software, games, or even free eBooks. All of these products are quite popular to internet users. By providing an area where your visitors can download free things, you are opening up the door to potential website traffic. In addition to this, you can include your link and information in the product that you offer and allow individuals who download it to advertise and sell it, or even give it away to others on their websites! This is a great way to get down right viral!
As you can see, there are a number of different methods that can be used to gain internet traffic, and keep that traffic on your website. The longer that an individual stays on your website, there is more likely a chance that the individual will purchase what you have to offer. If you want to succeed as an internet marketer, it is important to ensure that you follow the tips listed in this article. You will begin to see immediate traffic and consistency as a result of your internet marketing endeavors.

Redesigning of your website is all about understanding your audience and your medium in order to improve your Internet presence.
There are several compelling reasons to redesign your website. A website redesign is most commonly needed for the following reasons:
a. A change in your brick and mortar business and/or your online business model.
b. Growth and expansion into new areas.
c. Updating for Internet technology such as new browsers, increasing screen sizes and faster connection speeds.
d. To increase your search engine presence
e. To replace an out-of-date or unprofessional looking website.
Whatever the reason, a redesign is an extraordinary opportunity to redefine your online business presence and propel your website forward, ahead of your online competitors.
Break Down the Functional Parts of Your Website
The best method for examining all the parts of your website is to create a sitemap. A sitemap is a visual diagram of all the links and pages of your website. Let’s take a look at an example for a property development company’s sitemap.
In the sitemap illustrationabove we have sectioned the property development website into 5 parts.
1. Administrative Links
2. Hot Links
3. Global Links
4. Sub Links
5. Footer Links
Your Administrative links should contain the general information for your business. You want to keep these links separated from your Products or Services links so your visitors won’t have to browse through your administrative company links such as Mission Statement when looking for your products or services.
Hot links are the visual cues that act as hot points or your important Call-to-Action areas. These are essentially mini-advertisements that call attention to specific areas of your website. In the illustration above there are hot links for Inquiries, News, and Events. Our website client wanted to generate sales leads and provide news and events regarding new developments for retail and sales related real estate.
The naming of your links is also an important factor. If you are a medical office or a lawyer, you may want to name your Inquiry link as Confidential Inquiries, whereas a contractor would use the link term Free No-Obligation Inquiries.
Global Links are the primary links for your services and products. This is where you should place information for what you do, how you do it, what you provide, what you sell and so on. These are your bread and butter links. Bread and butter links are the hyperlinks and information that generate your leads and business income.
Sub Links are where you will want to prioritize this information. Think of additional ways to support your products and/or services. Here are some great ideas for doing this.
a. Create Case Studies pages
b. Create pages for Testimonials or Accolades
c. Create pages for your Associations or Certifications
d. Create a Client List or Client Industries Served list
e. Create Photo or Project Gallery pages
f. Create a repository page for Media. This provides you a place in your website to post links, video, audio, articles, Word documents and PDF files for any news or information relating to you or your business.
g. Define what makes your business unique.
Footer Links can be an extremely important area of your website and are often overlooked. This is where you can insert jump links to your locations pages, post phone numbers, fax numbers, emails, and address information.
* Note: If you are a local business and want local exposure on Google and other major search engines, it is important that you list your full local business address in the footer of your website.
Challenge, Focus Test and Question each Part
Once you complete your sitemap you should research similar websites for your business. Compare your navigation tabs and the names for these tabs to other websites.
Ask yourself the following questions. Have I covered all my navigation bases? Have I created opportunities for developing specific pages?
If you were a home remodeling contractor you might want to consider multiple galleries for your project photos versus displaying all your construction projects in one gallery page. Multiple pages provide you more chances for visitors to find your website in search engines. Every page in your website is an opportunity to tell search engines what your website is about.
Ask your web developer to use different and unique title and description meta-data in the code of your individual pages. In the case of a home remodeling contractor website, there are opportunities to have multiple gallery pages for kitchens, sunrooms, room additions, decks and so on.
Using Meaningful Content
Whether you are a lawyer, baker or candle stick maker there are two extremely important reasons for your website to contain meaningful text or copy.
1. Great copy supports and defines the essence of your website. Great copy can be defined as well formed sentences that convey your ideas and information in a meaningful way to your online visitors.
2. Great copy (website content) will earn you back-links and heightened attention from search engines. Do not write copy specifically for search engines; rather write copy for human visitors, but be judicious in the way you form your sentences. Also ask your web designer to place interior links within your pages where appropriate.
Here’s an example using two short paragraphs of home page content.
THIS COPY IS OK
a. Our product line seamlessly combines function and elegance, and includes: home and office furniture, accent chairs and pieces.
THIS COPY IS BETTER
b. The Williamson extensive product line seamlessly combines function and elegance, and includes: home entertainment furniture, home office furniture, accent chairs and accent pieces.
In the second example they mention their company name and use complete phrasing for their products.
Instead of “home and office furniture” they used more descriptive phrases like “home entertainment furniture” and “home office furniture”. These two phrases could also be linked to any relevant interior pages to improve user navigation and also compliment your website’s search engine optimization.
Put all these Parts Back Together in a Meaningful Way
Now that your sitemap is complete, the next phase is to incorporate this information into a website redesign. Consider the following points before you finalize your website design.
1. Consider whether a vertical navigation or horizontal navigation schema works best for your website (some websites have both).
2. Be sure your most important information is placed above-the-fold.
Above-the-fold is a newspaper advertising term that refers to strategically placed images and text in the upper most section on the front of the newspaper page.
Think for a moment about the T. V. style box, newspaper dispensers pioneered by Al Neuhart, Founder of USA Today. When the newspaper is folded and placed in the front-facing box you can be sure that the editor will place the most attention grabbing photos and compelling headlines above-the-fold’. This directly impacts how many papers will be sold.
This same methodology applies to your website redesign. If your website does not capture your online visitors in the first few seconds after landing on your website, then they will simply move on to another website.
3. Humans read information left to right and down the page. Be sure there is an orderly flow of images and information on your home page and interior pages.
4. Be sure there is good use of white space or black space. Don’t insist that your website designers cram text, graphics or visuals in every nook and cranny of your web page.
A professional graphic design person or web designer can help you develop a good look and feel for your new website, but don’t leave this task completely in their hands. Ask questions along the way and do your research. If they suggest a vertical navigation using red links instead of blue… then ask them why.
At the end of this process you will have done your necessary due diligence for having a successful redesign that will carry you forward over the next few years!
