Why select a local Web Designer for your Florida Website Design

With the hundreds of different web design companies available on the Net, how does one find the perfect one? The answer is actually quite simple; if you are from Florida, it is best to select a Florida website design company. There are a lot of reasons to select a local company when it comes to web designing. The first thing is with the economy as rocky as it is today it is better to keep the money in your own community rather than letting it go out to some other part of your country or worse still to some other country altogether.

It is a lot easier to communicate and develop a better relationship with a local web design company. Coming face to face with the other person and shaking hands with him or her can build some amount of trust. Besides it is much easier to tell the Florida website design agency the kind of design you want for your website and to receive feedback when you sit across from each other.

Your local web design company may even prove to be useful when it comes to providing you future leads where your business is concerned. Your Florida website designer will have worked for a lot of companies and will have quite a few contacts; it is quite likely that he might even know of prospective customers who may require your products or services. The Florida website design firm may also assist you in connecting with other local sources that may help your company. Your Florida website designer will also tell you about the new technologies in your sphere that can assist your business.

Another good thing about going in for a local web designer is that you can count on him of great customer service. If you hire a web design expert from a different country in a completely different time zone the likelihood of him being able to assist you on an immediate basis is very slim. On the other hand, the probability of your local Florida website design firm helping you out even within the hour is quite high. So if you are looking for a web designer, then it is indeed beneficial to choose a Florida website designer. You can build a good relationship, be satisfied that you have a website better than your competition and get the best customer service ever.

It is not always possible for you to know what kind of web hosting you will require even before your web design is ready. This is one of the reasons why you should hire the services of a good Florida website design firm. They will be able to build you a custom website and will know what kind of hosting one has to opt for in order to accommodate the site you have in mind. When you hire their services, they will learn all your requirements and discuss with you’re the features and the content that you would like to have on your website. Base on this they will select the suitable web hosting service for your website.

The power of local search is such that no website should be without it. By ignoring the possibilities of allowing people to find you by location rather than simply through your business and associated keywords, you could be missing a very important trick.

Unless you’re an offshore business, there is really no reason why you couldn’t or shouldn’t be benefiting from local search. Whilst it may seem like a major amount of work for a speculative gain, the truth is that you can achieve great results for what is a very simple process.

Unlike other areas of search engine optimisation, local search isn’t bound by complexities. There’s very little in the way of trial and error, plus onsite changes can often be kept to a minimum. The one visible alteration that may be required is simple text changes within your site’s body copy. Occasional mentions of the service you offer adjacent to your location, be it a village, town, city, county or even country, will help your site get picked up by search engines for these specific terms.

For example if you’re a London based antiques dealer you might want to include a general phrase like ‘London antique store’. However, you might also want to be more specific, focussing on the immediate area that you’re located in ‘Greenwich antique store’. The decision on how focussed your search is should be largely dependent on the business that you have and personal preference.

A slightly more complex approach is to incorporate something called geotagging. This is an invisible piece of coding that sits within your website’s Meta. Essentially it works by pinpointing your business using global coordinates and then allowing you to select a zone of influence, which is basically how specific you’d like to be about your locality.

The best thing about geotagging is that it can be used right throughout the site and adjusted as needed for different pages. So if you’re got one business that has a number of outlets, you don’t need to be confined to just promoting your head office as each page can have its own geographical identity. With coordinates and HTML coding involved, it isn’t necessarily the easiest way of optimising your local search credentials, but it can be the most worthwhile.

Once you’ve completed all of your website changes, then you can look to explore a few offsite opportunities. Search engines are always a good place to start, particularly as it is their traffic that you’re ultimately looking to tap into. Most of the major engines provide a local search directory, which will often appear at the head of the SERPs (search engine results pages) and include a map with plotting points for each business in the vicinity.

Whilst you can’t simply muscle your way to the top of these, a good position within the local search box can result in improved visibility and subsequently increased site traffic. Gaining a leading position is achieved through conventional SEO, so the search engines assign a level of authority for your site based on their own algorithmic calculations.

Local business directories such as the Yellow Pages (Yelp) can help hone in that local search strength. You may also find industry specific ones that can also help improve your SEO, online visibility and local search credentials. If your site has a number of inbound links, these too can be optimised by simply using your local-business key terms also implemented within the onsite copy.

As with all website marketing, the more you can do, the finer the focus and the better the quality, the greater the end product you can achieve. Local search hasn’t yet been adopted by everybody, but if you want to get your business noticed within a certain region, there really is no better investment in time.

A 2006 study found that 55% of online consumers were using the internet to search for local business information and today that number is closer to 75%. The problem for most businesses in my area – Lakeland, FL – is that they still see internet advertising as a marketing tool for people trying to sell products online to a national audience (like on eBay or Amazon). They do not realize that their potential customers are looking for Lakeland service businesses on the web, and that they can reach these vital prospects through marketing online.

Internet Marketing – Getting Your Needle Found in a Haystack

As you know, the world wide web contains billions of sites. Search engines and directories were created to help users navigate to find specific information. Internet marketing is a form of direct marketing that cost-effectively targets customers who are actively searching for a specific product or service. Like conventional marketing, it can be divided into paid and unpaid placement of a marketing message. Companies choose specific search terms relevant to their business, and whenever anyone types in those terms, their company appears in search results or advertisements.

Local Internet Searches

A majority of internet marketers in the past were businesses selling products online. As we have moved from desktop to notebook to mobile phones, we have also narrowed our search to finding services that we want close by. Research shows that most internet searches in 2009 are local in nature. This means that people are using the internet to search for businesses in their own cities and states. Today, leading service businesses realize that their market uses the internet to search for a plumber, air conditioning repair company, roofing contractor, dentist, doctor or attorney. And, their results can be quicker and more powerful than conventional marketing methods.

Internet Replacing Newspapers and Phone Books

As people have increasingly turned to the internet for their needs, conventional newspapers and phone directories have spiraled downward in effectiveness. Internet advertising allows business to efficiently target customers who need them right away, and those who will need them in the future. In pay-per-click ads, it doesn’t matter how many times the ad appears; the advertiser only pays for the ad when someone clicks on it to visit their website. The ads can even be set up to only appear in certain cities, metropolitan areas, or countries.

More than three years ago, businesses in other parts of the country involved in a pilot program of local search ads reported increasingly successful results. A printing company in Salt Lake City, Utah generated ,000 in new business from their local search ads, a carpet cleaner in Atlanta, Georgia reported a 35% increase in calls to his business, and a national hotel chain reported over ,000 in room reservation revenues as a result of their initial efforts, convincing them to invest further in the phenomenon.

Many companies also use an internet advertising campaign to build their email marketing efforts by offering visitors to their website the opportunity to join their opt-in email marketing list – allowing them to target potential customers who are interested, but not quite ready to purchase. By developing ongoing relationships with prospects, leading firms are cultivating future and continual sources of income.

What does this mean for your local service businesses?

The current search numbers are impressive. During July 2009 alone, more than a million people in the US searched Google for a plumber in their neighborhood. In Lakeland that month, 730 googled “Lakeland plumbing” and 720 googled “air conditioning Lakeland.” Other prospects for your business used Microsoft’s Bing! Or Yahoo. Those people wanted service right away. There were about 620,000 results returned from the Google search “Lakeland plumbing.” Was your company’s website listed at the top of your prospects’ search? Could you have profited from those customers? How much business did you get from the internet in July?

Local searching in the Lakeland area continues to grow and produce serious revenue for the businesses involved with marketing online. Customers are not just looking for businesses while sitting at home or at their desk at work, they search from their laptop at the coffee shop, their PDA in their car, or their phone while waiting in line at the grocery store. As Lakeland residents adopt new technology over the next year, the number of internet searches will grow exponentially. Believe it or not, the fastest growing segment of today’s internet consumer is women 60-65.The question for Lakeland businesses is: Are your customers going to find you, or your competition, when they are searching?

Find YOUR Solution

Many Lakeland businesses are seeing shrinking revenues and are afraid to invest their dwindling resources in anything other than the conventional methods that are continually producing diminishing returns. Recent national surveys of local-based business owners suggest that they are aware of, and interested in, marketing online, but see ‘internet unfamiliarity, time commitment, and the inability to track results’ as the biggest barriers to developing internet marketing campaigns. Lakeland businesses know from experience that just putting up a website doesn’t get the results they want.

Search for an internet marketing agency in your area committed to providing a few, select local business owners the opportunity to capture their share of profits from internet marketing. You can leverage the knowledge, experience and ability of a professional internet marketing services company. Ask if they will start your online campaign through a 90-day trial partnership that limits your risk, rather than a log-term commitment. You should begin to see tangible results within the three month period and be able to evaluate the benefits to your bottom line.

Unfortunately, not all businesses will profit from a professional internet marketing campaign. A good marketing services company will analyze your potential for success using a very specific set of established criteria. Make sure that they are someone you will enjoy working with, will give you personal attention, provide a customized plan and that they have the proper education, skills and abilities to grow your business.

Internet Marketing For Local Business

Internet Marketing For Local Business

Internet Marketing for Local Business

In spite of some negative publicity and Presidential comments, here in Las Vegas we still host a lot of conventions, especially in internet marketing. The hottest topic for the last few years has been marketing local businesses on the internet. There are some programs being sold on the web but, so far, the jury is still out on their effectiveness.

However, the premise is still accurate. The next wave of internet wealth will not be overseas in a global economy. It will be right here in our back yards showing local businesses how to be found on search engines, social networking sites and media sites.

This was predicted several years ago by Paul Zane Pilzer in an interview with Dr. Joe Vitale (pdf available upon request.) Mr. Pilzer seems to be one of those rare individuals in actual possession of a “crystal ball.” He taught economics at NYU for 20 years, was an economic advisor to the first Bush administration and both Clinton terms. He made millions in IPOs and is an author of several books on futuristic economic trends.

He subscribes to the local business internet marketing boom and is upset that the current “marketing experts” are missing the boat. He maintains that the next wave of internet wealth is indeed in your local restaurants, dry cleaners, auto repair and all local product and service providers.

Pretty much all small local businesses across the board are experiencing reduced revenues, layoffs or even losing their businesses and shutting their doors completely. The attrition rate has been on a scale not seen since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

Also, whether we like it or not, the game has changed and is continuing to change, sometimes at the speed of progressing technology which can be blindingly fast. Not only are the demographics different but it is now a rare occurrence for a potential customer to actually pick up that heavy yellow book when they’re trying to find a particular product or service. It’s becoming more and more common, especially as more consumers are buying and becoming proficient with computers, to simply go to your favorite search engine, usually Google, and type what you’re looking for in the “Search” window.

This is the contemporary reality and woe to those who don’t get with the new program. And, the truth is, most of these business owners are too busy and uncomfortable with marketing on the internet. The main reason for their discomfort is a lack of knowledge on just how to do their marketing in the real world. They are frequently approached by companies who charge them to build a website, promise them the world and they wind up with another business expense that, instead of producing revenues, is just another drain on their operating capital which has already been taking quite a beating in this economy.

Most of the reason for this is that the IT people are great (sometimes) at building a website but don’t have a clue on how to market one. Unfortunately, most of these outfits just want their check and then they leave the client hanging in the breeze. Exacerbating this is the fact that the business owners and, if they can afford it, their so-called “computer guys” are completely clueless as to how to get the potential customer to even find their website despite the fact that the search engines read the local IP addresses to try and direct this traffic directly to them.

The upside to this is that the savvy and hard working internet marketer has a huge, mostly untapped source of revenue sitting virtually in their back yard. He/she must also stay abreast of the latest technologies, one of which I know is only a few months old, that can bring fresh, relevant content to the customer’s website so they can, at the very least, be found by a paying customer who is actually looking for them. Although much attention is given to the search engines, though vital, the smart marketer cannot ignore the social networking and media sites. Video and article marketing must be taken into account and those who can provide these turnkey systems to local business owners will reap the reward inherent with this trend.

Local search: a new beginning for search engine submission industry

Local search: a new beginning for search engine submission industry

Ten years ago the online promotion mantra was represented by the phrase: “you must submit your website to as many search engines as possible”. All the SEO specialists were claiming that a website does not exist if it is not found in search engines. There were a lot of software products aimed to help a webmaster to register websites to thousands of search engines (more or less useless) and any professional SEO services included the famous “manual submission” to carefully chosen search engines and web directories .

Of course, all this fever became useless when Google and other crawling-based search engines began to dominate the search market. Nowadays, a few backlinks are all that we need to have our website indexed and, with some luck, shown for some basic searches in the search engines that really matter: Google, Yahoo! and Bing. But today we are witnessing a new, emerging market: online local search. Despite the fact that the online local search market grows very fast, having an explosive evolution in the last couple of years, it still doesn’t have a clear leader or a preferred technology, which makes us think that we are again at the starting point were the mantra: “you must submit your website to as many search engines as possible” can be successfully applied. This market was traditionally associated with “yellow pages” catalogs, usually published each year. But the traditional “yellow pages”, based on printed catalogs, is losing support from the public and even the biggest “yellow pages” publishers are moving towards online publishing.

For online marketers, it’s time to explore the options of local search marketing. In my opinion, we can distinguish three types of websites that can help a business to promote and develop their local presence.

1. “Yellow pages” business directories. YellowPages.com (www.YellowPages.com) is the best known. Such website allows user to make searches by keywords that describe products or services, and return results based on user’s location. The results are displayed on a map so that the user can see the best placed businesses.

Although YellowPages.com is the main representative of this type of websites, in recent years their position is increasingly threatened by the “big three”: Google, Yahoo and Bing (Microsoft) who have developed a their own local search service. Any company can now create a free profile at the following addresses:

http://local.google.com
http://local.bing.com
http://local.yahoo.com

It is good to have an updated profile on each of these services. In addition, other interesting sites are Hotfrog (www.hotfrog.ca), Dexknows (www.dexknows.com) or Local.com (www.local.com). But all these websites are offering more or less the same functionalities. Creating a profile requires only a few minutes of work for each website, so it would be good for any business to maintain an online profile on each website. Another advantage is given by the fact that a presence in such “yellow pages” directory doesn’t require a physical website address. Even a business that doesn’t have their own website can have a presentable profile on “yellow pages”.

2. Job matching services. Service Magic (www.servicemagic.com) is a good example of this type of website. If you have a small business, you can enroll in Service Magic and every time someone would need your services locally, Service Magic will send you a notice. In exchange for this “tip” / lead, you will pay a small fee to Service Magic. However, it is your own responsibility to get the job.

Users who send their application through Service Magic cannot see who is selected and contacted by Service Magic, so they will not know what companies will receive their request. Therefore the application must be completed as accurately as possible in order for Service Magic to direct the request to the appropriate contractors.

Other websites similar to this are Bob Vila (www.bobvila.com), Contractors (www.contractors.com), RepairPal (www.repairpal.com – only for cars and vehicles) and Red Beacon (www.redbeacon.com). Even if these websites don’t offer similar features like the “yellow pages”, an online profile with a backlink to your website is well worth your time to setup your company profile.

3. Hybrid services – a combination of 1 and 2. Currently there aren’t too many websites trying to combine the functions offered both by a service like “yellow pages” and a “job matching service”, but such websites begining to appear as early as 2010. PinBud (www.pinbud.com) is one such site. In essence, PinBud takes from the “yellow pages” idea of a local business directory, but also allows the user, like any “job matching service”, to post a request for service. This request will go directly to the companies that the user thinks that are the most suitable for his project, and the contractor’s responses can be organized online. Thus, the brokerage is eliminated and the contact is made directly between consumer and contractors. Although initial PinBud subscription is free, in order to participate in auctions one must purchase a subscription. Without a subscription, the contractor’s profile will still appear online, but paying members will have priority in search results. PinBud’s yearly fees are nominal and will be well worth your time to setup your free Business Profile at PinBud.com.

Just like in the early days of the Internet, we don’t have an absolute leader for this market, yet any business owner should take it seriously. Local search websites attract millions of users every month – are you in or are you out?

What Local Search Optimization Can Do For Your Site

What Local Search Optimization Can Do For Your Site

Are you looking for a way to increase your business visibility? Then you have to improve your local search performance.

As a marketing manager, leave no stone unturned in your quest for wider business coverage and visibility. Local search optimization can bring your site local traffic as much as any other Internet marketing strategy.

To improve your local search marketing performance, don’t overlook the power of your business address to carry you through. The following simple but effective techniques can leverage your business address and enhance your local search:

1. Submit your address to business directories.

Business directories are online Yellow Pages. Getting your business name and, most importantly, your address, listed in these directories will turn your address into relevant content. Search engines spider the web continuously, and when they reach the business directory where you are listed, they will take note of your business address. Keep submitting your address, particularly to reputable business directories. The repeated mention of your address in association with your business name will tell search engines that this is relevant to your business. In time, whenever a local search is made using the address, or within its vicinity, your business will be listed in the top of the search engine results pages.

Keep your address conventions consistent. If you have already submitted to a business directory site using the word “Avenue” in your address, use this in your subsequent submissions. The use of the abbreviated version of the word (i.e.,”Ave.”) in future submissions negates the purpose of consistently submitting one absolute address associated with your business.

2. Place your address in strategic places within your website.

Optimize your website for local search through the strategic placement of your business address right on your web pages. Here are some address placement examples:

1. The “About Us” page. Include the location of your business on your About Us page, together with your business history, and what your business is all about.

2. The “Contact Us” page. Together with your telephone numbers and email addresses, don’t forget to place your business address on this page.

3. The Footer or Blog side bar. This ensures that your business address is visible on all pages users visit, and every time search engines spider and index your website.

4. Google Map widget. Enter your business address in Google Maps, ensure that your business location is visible on the map, and embed the HTML code in your website.

5. HTML Code snippets. Place HTML code snippets on your web pages to tell search engines that the particular group of words is your address. The snippet appears similar to below:

870 Market Street,
San Francisco CA 94102

Site visitors will not see the code; they will only see your business address displayed as follows:

870 Market Street,
San Francisco, CA 94102

Including your address on every page of your website is your goal, but be careful not to violate search engine rules as you do this. Avoid keyword stuffing or ambiguous addresses to increase the performance of your local search.

3. Ask customers to review your listing.

Your customers can do their share in your local search optimization by providing a review about your site in business and search directory listings. Tell them outright that you have been listed in the directories, and that you would appreciate them providing relevant feedback about your business. Search engines will consider customer reviews as content associated with your site.

These simple strategies are easy to implement but yield lasting benefits. And when you integrate them into your overall marketing plan, they effectively guarantee improvements in your local search performance and open your business to more online visibility.

Local Internet Marketing Anticonfusion Kit

Local Internet Marketing Anticonfusion Kit

If Local Internet Marketing is really the ultimate business-building power tool for this decade, why isn’t there a frenetic gold rush underway with every local business owner out there fighting to get to the gold field first?

Why isn’t the first page of Google, and every search engine, in every niche, already packed with local businesses claiming that incredibly valuable real estate, and defending it like it was the gold mine that it is?

Only a few times over the last 50 years has there been a truly revolutionary paradigm shift in marketing opportunities for local businesses. After all, most local businesses do not have an enormous budget to buy marketing power or the specialized marketing staff to plan and execute a sophisticated marketing plan.

Local Internet Marketing is a game-changer. Yet few local business owners even know what it means, let alone understand how to integrate it into their business plan. To most, Local Internet Marketing is about putting up a nice website…and then scratching their head wondering why so few people visit it… or why so few buy or opt-in or call or e-mail you or do anything to hold up their hand as a prospective customer.

So here’s a quick overview to clear away some of the confusion so you can see through the fog to the blazing hot opportunity that Local Internet Marketing offers. Here are the five most important things you should know and think about right now, before this opportunity passes you by:

1. Local Search is on fire – Your prospective customers/clients aren’t waiting around for you to get your message to them. They’re actively engaged in searching for whatever they need or want – online. I won’t rehash here statistics you’ll find in my other posts. But with 5 billion searches monthly for LOCAL products, services and information in the US alone – and growing every month – it’s time to get into the game – or else…

” I coulda been a contender” – Marlon Brando’s famous line in the classic movie “On The Waterfront” is potentially too relevant here. “If only…” or “What if…” are sad laments after the train has passed you by. And that’s what awaits you if you dismiss this freight train as another hyped trend. This is serious opportunity shouting at you, and you need to look at it with an open mind – right now.

Plumbers, movers, hair removal services, mortgage brokers, lawyers, auto repair shops, carpet cleaners, plastic surgeons, repair services, chiropractors, home improvement contractors, specialty stores, fitness centers, pet grooming salons, doctors, dentists, electricians, florists, septic cleaners, heating contractors, cleaning services, Realtors, insurance brokers, limousine services, painters, storage sites, pool & spa retailers, tree services, upholsterers limousine services, landscapers… the list is almost endless who can use Local Internet Marketing to dominate Local Search in their niche.

2. They’re not searching for YOU. Getting ranked in Google for your business name is good, certainly. However, people who already know that you are the best choice, but must search online for directions or a telephone number, are a small fraction of the searches that could lead to increased business for you.

They’re searching for solution providers because they have not yet identified their best choice. They’re still looking for the best solution to their problem or fulfillment of their desire. You can’t win that business if you’re not there as a contender. Only then can you fight to get their Attention… then arouse their Interest so you can get on their short list… then stimulate intense Desire for your solution… and then be so competitively on target that they take Action because you are the obvious best choice.

3. With 85%+ click-throughs on the top 3 listings on the first page of Google, what does that say? It says the real action in reaching ready-to-buy prospective customers/clients is dominating the first page of Google and the other search engines. That should be your absolute first priority right now. Nothing else you could do right now even comes close.

4. Local Internet Marketing is remarkable affordable… and it’s measurable to minimize waste. I know, you’re probably maxed out on marketing dollars invested in traditional marketing tools. But are those critical dollars working hard enough for you? Consistently producing outstanding results?

All I can say is this: Marketing investments should be entirely about Return On Investment (ROI). How much return are you getting from your other marketing investments right now? Do you even know? Local Internet Marketing is measurable so it can be refined and targeted to minimize waste… to make every marketing dollar count.

5. “But I don’t want to learn all that technical stuff…” Here’s the absolute truth: Despite others who may tell you that this local search marketing stuff is easy and can be easily learned, the reality is that doing it right isn’t at all easy. If it were, everyone would be doing it successfully.

Internet Marketing for Small Business requires a mix of research and analysis skills, complex automation software, advanced Internet Marketing and Branding strategies, creativity, data management and constant vigilance. It’s both science and art. It’s not for amateurs, and the idea that you can effectively manage it yourself, and run your business, is dangerous,

However, what is perhaps most exciting about Local Internet Marketing as a business-building tool is that so much marketing power can be so hands-off and still be so affordabe. Effective Local Internet Marketing must be managed by professionals and it must be consistent. It’s not a quick fix. It requires constant attention to assess results, make adjustments and stay ahead of a constantly changing Internet. But all the automation tools and efficiencies of scale available to a state-of-the-art Small Business Internet Marketing specialist make a totally off-premise-managed service for a low monthly fee achievable.

Many businesses find that the low monthly fees can actually replace other less-ROI-powerful marketing investments, and even reduce marketing expenditures.

Before you go another day accepting of the status quo or confused as to direction, call a professional Local Internet Marketing specialist and investigate how much this paradigm -shifting power tool can jumpstart your business.
