MySpace CEO Mike Jones said the News Corp owned MySpace is no longer trying to compete head on with the social networking company Facebook, and is recasting itself as a free service that it hopes the 35-year-and in-crowd will flock keep abreast of the hottest videos of the music.
With traffic down on MySpace and society shaken by a series of management changes and layoffs in the past two years, the revival of the website is a vital step in efforts to rejuvenate once considered an asset Central to the News Corp. online businesses. “Most investors have canceled MySpace now,” said Richard Greenfield, an analyst at BTIG said Tuesday.
Whether or not MySpace can rebuild his buzz on the web market highly competitive and rapidly changing is an open question, “he said.News Corp bought MySpace in 2005 580.000.000 dollars, the social networking service was at the height of his MySpace popularity.
But, who claims to have between 125 million and 130 million active users per month, is eclipsed by Facebook, with more than 500 million users. News Corp will not disclose financial information MySpace. There media is that News Corp is interested in selling MySpace, News Corp, although executives have repeatedly argued that there is a problem.
MySpace’s new incarnation of the company relies heavily strong tradition of music – the company has already partnered with four major – and seeks to integrate the content of the film, television and video games. Site visitors can subscribe to news feeds about your favorite bands and actors, as well as with other MySpace users, the service is recommended as the authorities of certain types of music or other subjects.
MySpace has also changed the look of the site: users can still customize their personal pages, but to a lesser extent. Personal pages have a consistent placement of navigation buttons on the screen, for example. Critics said the previous site was difficult to navigate through the pages of the members apparently incompatible.
Chief Jones told Reuters on Monday that “your participation.” Hurt a beta, or trial version of the new site will be available for some users, and Wednesday, the site must be available to all users at the end of November.

As the amount of fossil fuel decreases and the cost gasoline increases, there is a greater need for finding renewable sources of energy. Myspace Versus Facebook…a Look At Two Giants In The Online Social Media Arena
Myspace Versus Facebook…a Look At Two Giants In The Online Social Media Arena
MySpace is a popular social networking website offering an interactive, user submitted network of friends, personal profiles, blogs, groups, photos, music and videos for people worldwide. MySpace has been one of the most wildly successful sites in recent years, amassing over 120 million profiles while transforming social networking online.
It has created a central community comprised of people across the globe. It is one of the most visited sites in the world and it’s introducing a huge number of people to content syndication through news feeds and it allows millions of people around the world to publish on the web for the first time.
MySpace is also used by people to display their talents and it’s about keeping in touch with friends and making new friends. It’s all about interactivity and the ability of people to participate actively in your MySpace community.
It is an amazing community building tool and is starting to become an amazing marketing tool by giving internet marketers the power to drive large numbers of potential clients to a Website. MySpace allows users to customize their user profile pages by entering HTML, no Javascript, into such areas as “About Me,” “I’d Like to Meet,” and “Interests.”
It has a Groups feature which allows a group of users to share a common page and message board. MySpaceTV is now in beta mode, and will probably be launched as a separate site in either 2008 or early 2009. The MySpace Polls is a feature that was brought back in 2008 to enable users to post polls on their profile and share them with other users.
MySpace is the world’s largest Social Networking website and maintains a dominant position as a media site, primarily aimed at youth, giving them the opportunity to express their feelings on a variety of topics.
Facebook, on the other hand, has the largest number of registered users among college-focused networking sites, according to Wikipedia. Facebook’s culture, appearance and principles have become the envy of the social networking business. It has moved in exactly the opposite direction, from MySpace, going for a more sophisticated and increasingly older audience.
Social media online is extending our real world networks so that we can carry on conversations internationally as well as locally. Facebook is a tool to keep in touch with friends and family around the globe and is the most popular social networking site in several English-speaking countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom.
Facebook is often compared to MySpace but there is one significant difference between the two sites and this is the visual appearance. Facebook is cleanly designed and has a sophisticated, upscale sense about it.
Facebook is a private company and doesn’t disclose sales figures but the Financial Times reported it made 150 million dollars worth of sales last year. Facebook is already supporting several languages and they successfully launched their Spanish speaking version recently.
Statistically speaking as of January, 2008, according to TechRadar, Facebook has more than 60 million active users worldwide compared with MySpace’s over 120 million. On average 300,000 new registrant’s sign up to MySpace everyday versus Facebook’s 250,000. For Facebook the fastest growing demographic are those 25 years old and older while 85% of MySpace users are of voting age 18 or older.
No matter how you slice it, these are two very successful and very influential players in the Social Media online arena today and should be for a very long time to come. And there is no telling how big a resource they can become for Internet Marketers worldwide.
Social Media Traffic Generation With Myspace – Why Panhandlers Get Greater ROI
Social Media Traffic Generation With Myspace – Why Panhandlers Get Greater ROI
one. So, what’s the point of social media traffic generation?
From marketing perspective, Twitter = Social Media Traffic Generation Heaven = Record Making, plain and straightforward. It really is been said that “The money is in the list”. I tell you that the money is really as part of your Romantic relationship WITH THAT Number.
Accomplished adequately, your Myspace follower list can potentially be even more responsive than your e mail checklist. What a dream of every marketer – to possess individuals really listen to what you must say!
2. Why is it so tough to become heard on Facebook?
Clearly, there’s the right along with the incorrect method to go about making use of it for the social media traffic generation. Here are a number of the direct messages I get. For being additional precise, most of the direct messages sound like that:
“RIDE THE WAVE OF Achievement…BE Your personal BOSS Link”
“Hi there and thanks 4 following my tweets.I guess you’ll come across way to use 1-3K$ on Autopilot Link”
“Learn tips on how to generate income on the net with cell phones-coaching from a pro-less than ! Link”
“Do take a sec to search at my Net Programming articles. Click on the handful of hyperlinks while you are there Hyperlink.”
No wonder it really is difficult being observed above all that noise! But in the event you take into consideration, there’s an chance there for you personally to stand out. Value with out sales is really a hot commodity on Twitter. Give without having asking for anything at all in return is the key ingredient to your social media traffic generation.
Understand that and you may go from Facebook underdog to wonderdog in no time.
three. Twitter is incredibly time-consuming.
It totally could be. Here’s how I go about it. Very first, you need to have a strategy. My strategy is always to commit about an hour per day, spread out in 15-20 minute increments.
Every day Procedure For My Bebo Account:
-Read your @mentions and reply to all of them.
-Post a favored quotation, latest news weblink, or just basic info (this may be from on the internet or offline resources)
-Scan your personal timeline & seem for conversations to jump into.
-Go to Facebook search, search for topics of interest to you, and get into a couple of conversations there as well. Although you are there, go ahead and search for the own name and/or company name to see if anyone is talking about you
-Check your direct messages (DMs) and reply to them as well.
-Repeat this at least three times a day.
Social Networking, Going Beyond the Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter
Social Networking, Going Beyond the Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter
Social media and discussions about social networking are peppering every meme on the Web. This is bringing everyone into the game–big and small business. Does that mean all of the opportunity is gone? No. The real truth most people are completely off the mark.
Getting a MySpace, Facebook, or Twitter account is not social networking. Social networking requires participation and valuable contribution to the community. These are some of the secrets to getting real impact from your social network.
Listening
Getting into the conversation starts with listening to your community. Take some time to research your target audience–people you want in your community. These are my favorite approaches:
* Use Google’s Blog Search to find blogs and commentary associated with your business
* Set-up Google alerts to email you tips on new content related to your marketplace
* Use Twitter Search to monitor community related conversation in real-time
Not only will listening tune you into your target audience–it will reveal opportunity.
Participating
Note, the first word is social networking is “social.” That means that people expect connections in their network to participate. They are looking for a conversation. Getting the most out of your social networking means giving your community what they want. These are techniques I use:
* Ask questions. Want a big crowd? Ask for advice.
* Answer questions. This demonstrates expertise and adds value.
* Link to great resources. Linking gives to the community and builds goodwill.
* Share good content. I good proportion you should share your own content.
Participating shows a genuine interest in the community, building your credibility and reputation–important to powering a successful social network.
Audience Building
Once engaged in your social network, it is time to build your own audience. Your audience should be folks that follow you and are influenced by you.
Be the leader in your social community and you will maximize your return. This of course requires trust and reputation. Each is built over time and based mainly on useful and valuable participation.
Join the conversation, help people, and be willing to learn and your audience will grow. However, one powerful suggestions–focus on conversations and interactions that have keyword clues. This will help attract an appropriate audience. Also, every social network has a search tool–this is how most audiences get built, like websites it takes a little smart SEO.
Mobilizing
As you build your audience don’t be shy to get them doing something. Folks love to support a cause or be a part of a community effort. Most will happily get involved. So, start mobilizing your audience early. This creates a real powerhouse as your audience grows–giving you the opportunity to tackle really big campaigns.
Are you now convinced that social networking is more than a seizure inducing MySpace page, a college reunion FaceBook network, or a java fueled blasting of what your ate for dinner? Social networking is about–listening, participating, and mobilizing. Get yours started today.
Can Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and others cost you a job?
Can Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and others cost you a job?
Some people seem to think social networking sites could cost a person a job, especially young adults. So many prospective employers are looking online to see just what type of person is vying for the position. They want to see if there is anything that could come back to bite them in the behind. Unfortunately some people do not get the job because of racy pictures, videos not depicting them in a great light or some type of organization that may be too heavy for the prospective employer. Here are some tips to consider when you begin to look for a job.
1. Google your name. See what pops up. If it is favorable so be it. If not, get rid of it. Go to the source and ask the person to remove it immediately. We are referring to pictures you may not want a potential boss to see or if you have joined a controversial organization. Yes, you do have the right to join any organization you like but for now, get the job first. Have you ever heard of the saying dont let your right hand know what your left is doing!
2. Turn off your wall post to everyone. You do not want to take the chance that a crazy, derange ex boyfriend or ex girlfriend will put something crazy on the page.
3. People love taking pictures. It is just what they do. Please search your name on Flickr. Who knows if there are unsavory pictures of yourself from a party that you went to a couple of months ago and you had way too much to drink. Do you get the picture? If by any chance you see a few pictures that would not put you in a great light ask the person to remove your name as a tagline.
4. Do not take pictures or videotape yourself with people you really do not know. Heck dont take pictures or videotape with people unless you absolutely know without a doubt they are strictly for friends and family memories.
5. You can always put up a personal website highlighting a positive online profile of yourselfl.
Just like these and other social networking sites can cost you a job they can also get you a job.
1.If you want recruiters to find you on Facebook set privacy to “Everyone on Facebook”. Tell everyone on your page you are looking for a job. Now is not the time to be shy.
2. If you choose Linked In, set options to allow “in mail and introductions” so recruiters can email you. Also check out the status box where you can tell people about yourself and inform them you are looking for a job.
3. YouTube should be the last resort when trying to find a job, but people do video resumes all the time. Who knows maybe this could get you notice and hopefully the job.
Hopefully these small tips can help. Happy hunting in the job market!

Using Myspace And Twitter — Relationship Tips For Men
Now men have an ally in their search to meet probably millions of single ladies. Not merely through the internet but the social networking sites that are all over the online world. Sites like MySpace and Twitter are full of activities and consistently expanding. These sites are totally free to use and most women have friends online so they always keep in contact with their friends this way. Many girls that are busy with work or school will look to these sites to arrange their social live and even sometimes meet guys. Seeing that many girls use this social networking as a main part of their social lives, this is where you come in. The idea being that you come along with an interesting profile and email that captivates her interest.
Most people don’t look at MySpace or Twitter as place to go and try to connect with a potential date. That has its good and bad points, but you do have the chance to meet a girl who is single and available. From her profile, you can read what she is about and see if you are interested before you make contact. This is an advantage you don’t have in a bar or other social settings. When you make contact with a girl many will not assume your attempting to get a date, but just making an attempt to say hello. Probably that is the case, but you have the chance to meet more girls and introduce yourself. More introductions suggest more potential relationships to be developed. This is more effective than working with dating sites for both men and women as the dating sites are full of guys just seeking to hook up with girls. The women are usually flooded with one liner pickup lines and guys that don’t appear very genuine.
Meeting a girl on a social networking site can always be exciting and straightforward. However if you are intending to attempt to approach things for a relationship, the first thing I want to point out is to search for people who are near you physically! It is simple and easy to meet a girl given the dynamics of the internet and then you may well find that she lives on another continent. If this is what you really want then its great but it will makes things significantly more complicated.
Meeting on a social networking site necessitates much more patience. Most of the girls on these sites won’t be expecting to meet a guy and they may not be always thinking that way anytime a guy introduces himself. You will have to spend time talking with her as a friend and establish things up more slowly before you make the move by asking her out for meal or coffee.
Twitter, MySpace, You Tube, Facebook and Blogging Invade the Workplace
Over the last couple of years, the world has been inundated with the newest internet crazes: Twitter, MySpace, You Tube, Facebook and blogging.
People spend hours every day keeping their Facebook and MySpace pages current. They “tweet” on Twitter to give others up-to-the-minute updates on their lives. They make and upload videos for You Tube. People have created their own blogs where they chat about subjects that are personal, political and professional.
All of this would be perfectly harmless if (a) it didn’t happen while they were at work and (b) they weren’t sharing anything about their place of work.
Some businesses are taking advantage of these new vehicles to market to customers or potential customers. Firms have employees who “chat” with their clients live or blog answers to frequently asked questions.
Other companies, however, have no idea about these potentially productivity-zapping applications and their rampant use during work hours.
Employees’ use of the internet for non-work related reasons is estimated to be a staggering two to three hours each day. Companies must get out in front on this matter and take a clear position that employees understand.
Some organizations have used website blocking software to limit access to these sites. Employees can simply bypass that by using their cell phones, PDAs or laptops to connect to the internet. While some companies have created policies in their handbook outlining that internet usage while at work is for company business only, they have yet to include cell phone or PDA usage in that section to catch up with technology.
Businesses should also consider the effect “tweeting” or having a Facebook page can have as far as sharing too much company information with the internet community at large. Say, for example, a company salesperson gets on Twitter, “tweets” that she just landed in Phoenix and is picking up a rental car to go see Customer XYZ. Imagine a competitor somehow getting that information and using it to their advantage. I have seen detailed information about the work people are doing placed on You Tube or Facebook in clear violation of company confidentiality clauses.
Companies affected by employee posts on social network sites have taken disciplinary actions that include write-ups, suspensions or even terminations of employees. These firings have fed lawsuits by the terminated employees that are just starting to work their way through the legal system, costing businesses big money to defend their actions.
Companies must establish a policy or position that is consistent with their culture. Businesses that openly promote technology can be more lenient about the social networking policies they create. Others in tightly regulated industries should be very strict in laying out the rules.
All companies need to consider that their younger employees are very tied to these technologies and could be put off by employers who have an overreaching policy.
No matter where a company comes down on the subject, it is just another round in the changes that new technology is making in the workplace today and in the foreseeable future.
Will Socal Blaster really bring quality traffic form Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc?
Will Socal Blaster really bring quality traffic form Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc?
As the siteâs intro states, they offer a valid introduction of how traffic is important. I believe this as your idea or product can easily get buried in internet. They also offer valid statements of how you need to be dedicated and update your content frequently.
Social Blaster looks like an interesting pieces of software where the author claims it will rotate postings every 30 seconds. This would include notifying services like Twitter, and other major sites Facebook, Yahoo, Facebook, Bedo, and many more.
It also says that sites like TwiterCounter charges over $300 to do the same thing. He seems to think that people will click on Google ads since this thing will drive traffic. He promises thousands of dollars in revenue.
The author also claims he could get over six thousand visitors on an initial site launch within 24 hours. Questionable screen shots were provided as well. Do you really think Twitter will allow an automated tool to generate this amount of tweets? I think it will not take it too long before your Twitter account would be banned. They have pretty good auto detection for this sort of thing.
If you cannot set the interval of postings at a random pace, these sites will definitely ban you and stop you pretty fast. Maybe even your hosting provider will catch on and remove your website account.
Wow it is only $599 for a life time use. Or is it deeply discounted at $149. Or you can pay $8.95 per month.
They also claim the service runs 365 days a years 24 hours per day. I am not sure if I can recommend this service. I would definitely not use a primary socials site account or primary website account.
Social Media Marketing Guide. How To Use Twitter, Facebook, YouTube And MySpace To Grow Your Internet Marketing Business
As I mentioned in one of my previous articles, Social Media has became extremely popular in the last few years.
Social Media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and YouTube are growing faster than any other type of social communication.
Social Media is an enormous untapped source of leads, prospects and business partners for YOUR business and best of all it is FREE.
Therefore, in order to benefit from the social media madness, you will have to know how exactly to monetize this ultimate untapped source of potential business partners.
This is exactly what I am going to be covering today. I want to show you exactly what you need to do in order to generate results with social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and MySpace.
However, Before I get into the specific details of how you should be using each one of the mentioned above sites, I would like to point out one thing. The ultimate purpose of every single social media website is Relationship Building. This is the sole purpose you should be driven by when you join a group on Facebook or sending out a Tweet.
Relationship Building is an essential ingredient to a Successful Internet Marketing Business and the sooner you grasp this concept the better.
Let’s get started!
MySpace
Only a year ago, MySpace was the biggest and fastest growing community on the Internet with more than 240 Million registered users. Today MySpace has lost it’s popularity with the users but it hasn’t lost it with the search engines.
To this day, MySpace is one of the first sources Google turns to when in need of information. What this means is that you can use it for your benefit by creating different MySpace profiles to generate more Search Engine Traffic for your particular business/opportunity.
Don’t get me wrong here, it doesn’t mean that you must use it only for that. You still have the opportunity to socialize on MySpace quite effectively, but right now, the main benefit of MySpace in my eyes is the SEO juice that you can squeeze out of it.
Twitter
Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read updates known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length, which are displayed on the user’s profile page and delivered to other users who have subscribed to them also known as followers.
Twitter is an amazing social network, which really qualifies for the expression “Social Media Madness”. If you don’t know what I mean, just get yourself over four thousand followers, as I did, and you will see exactly what I mean. My Twitter home page is pure madness and socializing on Twitter without a client is not an option anymore.
Nevertheless, what makes Twitter unique besides the 140 character limit is the ability to Drive Massive Viral Traffic to Your Website.
Twitter is the easiest tool to drive traffic with especially if you are running a blog or a newsletter, it has an insane Viral Power Potential to it.
If you ever heard an expression “Word of Mouth Marketing” and did not know what it mean, than Twitter explains it very well. Just imagine if your Tweet with a link back to your site goes viral. Imagine the tweet being ReTweeted about 300 times. Imagine if each of those ReTweets only generated 3-4 clicks at a time, how much traffic would you get?
That’s right-A LOT!
YouTube
YouTube is a video sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. Three former PayPal employees created YouTube in February 2005. In November 2006, YouTube was bought by Google for US$1.65 billion, and is now operated as a subsidiary of Google.
YouTube, being the biggest video sharing network online, is a great place to do some video marketing. But Why is Video Marketing so damn important? Why is it so Crucial that you do it? Yes, that’s right! Relationship Building.
Can you think of a better way of establishing a relationship with a complete stranger? What can be more powerful when it comes down to building trust with another person on the internet than video? What can make more impact on that person than watching You move, listen to You talk and hearing Your thoughts coming out of Your mouth instead of reading them on his 15” laptop screen?
If you can think of a better way of doing it(besides live conversation with a web cam, of course) than please, be my guest and reveal it to me, because to this day, I haven’t found something better then Video Marketing.
Facebook
A Harvard University student originally founded Facebook with couple of his roommates in order to create a virtual community exclusive to the Harvard University attendees. Website membership was initially limited but later expended to other colleagues until later on Facebook became available to anyone aged 13 and over.
Right now Facebook is one of the biggest social communities with over 200 million active users. However, what makes it different from MySpace, Twitter and YouTube than? Why is it so essential for your Social Media Domination plan?
Well, personally, I can’t answer that question with a specific benefit. Facebook is just a great place to Build STRONG, BULLETPROOF, ROCK SOLID Relationships. I haven’t yet found a community where people are more open and ready to socialize with complete strangers all over the planet.
To me, Facebook is like another huge family. I truly admire and respect every single one of my Facebook friends. It is so easy to get to know people and connect with them on Facebook. It is so easy to get lost in endless chats and conversations there.
I have many of my friends, simply leading another Life there! Facebook is very easy to fall in love with and it definitely leaves other Social Networks in the dust when it comes down to building a strong long lasting relationship with a complete stranger.
Having shared these insight with you, I only wish to point out one more time that your main goal on any single social media site and in every single social community should be first to Build Relationships while driving traffic and generating leads second.
