Advertising Using Pay-per-click

Advertising your products or services on the Internet is both extremely effective and extremely competitive. There are several ways to attract traffic to your website. Pay-Per-Click is one, as well as developing an SEO, or search engine optimization campaign. Both pay-per-click and SEO are targeted to get your website placed as close to the top of search engine results as possible. It takes only minutes to set up a pay-per-click campaign versus months for a good SEO campaign.

Pay-Per-Click is a simple type of paid advertising that most search engines now offer. It requires a bid for a “per-click” basis, which translates to your company paying the bid amount every time the search engine directs a visitor to your site. There is the added bonus that when a per-click site sends your website traffic, your site often appears in the results of other search engines.

As with all marketing, there are pros and cons. If you understand the process and monitor your pay-per-click campaign frequently, it can be very effective. One of the greatest advantages is that you never have to change your web pages to alter your position in search engine results, as you must do in a typical SEO campaign. What you do have to do in a pay-per-click campaign is pay a fee.

Another advantage is the simplicity of the pay-per-click process. You just bid and you’re up and running. It doesn’t require any real technical knowledge, though the more you know about search engines and keywords, the easier – and more effective – the process will be.

The downside is that pay-per-click is essentially a bidding war. A higher bid than yours will lower your position on search engine results. This means that you will have to raise your bid to regain your position – depending on the popularity of your key words this may becme very expensive.

In order to determine the effectiveness of Pay-Per-Click for marketing your business, you must do some calculations to work out how much each visitor to your site is worth. You can do this value by dividing the profit you make on your website over a given period of time by the total number of visitors for that same time period. For example, if your site made $5,000 in profits and there were 10,000 hits, each visitor would be theoretically worth 50 cents. The basic formula is profits divided by visitors.

The figure of 50 cents per visitor is the point at which your business breaks even. Therefore, you are aiming at a figure less than 50 cents per click.

Often the most popular keywords cost a lot more than 50 cents a click. The only way around this is to bid less for these phrases or you will be paying too much for each individual hit.

The key to success is to learn everything you can about researching search engine keywords. There are no limits to the amount of keywords you can add to your bid because additional keywords do not add additional cost. This means lot less hassle for you because there is no need to optimize your site for a particular set of keywords.

In pay-per-click, the written description is crucial. You must understand that the object of your description is not to generally attract visitors, but to be as specific as possible so that only those visitors who are likely to buy your service or product go to your site. This description is your most powerful tool to insure that your bid is profitable.

Another essential element of pay-per-click advertising is constant monitoring of your bid. With the major Search Engines the competition for top ranking is intense, and very often you will find that the bidding price balloons too high for pay-per-click to yield a profit.

Remember – don’t pay so much for your keywords that you can’t make a profit.

Since losing money is not the idea, you must have a plan in place to closely track the effectiveness of your keyword. It is advisable to monitor your keywords on at least a monthly basis.

Not only is careful monitoring important, but the analysis of visitor behavior can produce invaluable knowledge about consumer motivation, habits, and trends. Expert monitoring and consumer analysis is essential to your overall business needs, and will also insure that your campaign is a success.

Promoting Websites Using Pay-Per-Click Ads

Pay-per-click advertising campaigns promoting your e-commerce website are probably the most popular type of online advertising. Everybody, from an ordinary housewife to a successful big time businessman can benefit from these online advertising strategies.

In starting an e-commerce business, there are a lot of things that you need to consider. Of course, you need a high quality product. You can just become a marketing affiliate if you do not have your own product.

You would need to have a server where you can host your website. Once you have setup your website, install shopping cart software to facilitate online orders. You also need to sign up for an account in websites such as Paypal for you to be able to accept payments online.

Next, you will have to work on the marketing side. This is where pay-per-click advertising comes into the picture.

As the name implies, pay-per-click advertising pays every site owner for every click on the ads that are displayed on his site. This is a really great tool for business owners who want to drive more traffic into their site. They can effectively display their ads on other peoples websites to create a link bank to their site and only pay when their ad is clicked on.

There are a few companies that handle pay-per-click advertising such as Google Adsense or the Yahoo-based Overture. However, even if they do manage the ads well, as the advertiser, you still need to know the basics. If you have a good knowledge on how to write compelling ad copy, you will be able to achieve better results. Better results of course, translate to higher profits.

The goal in writing a good pay-per-click ad is to compel readers to click on your ad. Remember that the billions of people using the internet are all potential customers.

Pay-per-click ads are very useful in giving your business a good start. It is a known strategy to be very effective especially for new online businesses. If your website has already established its name with regular customers or visitors, then you may not need to engage in this type of advertising.

Here are a few tips in getting started with your advertising. Make sure that the ads headline matches the kind of audience you want. You can try mentioning specific keywords at the top.

You can also showcase a few benefits of your products. These will surely get the attention of visitors and hopefully encourage them to click on your ads. An increase in the number of people clicking on the ad can lead to an increase in your sales.

Pay-per-click advertising is a really great way to get large volumes of visitors coming to your website, but the only catch is that it may be somewhat expensive. It involves bidding on your desired keywords so your website turns up to be one of the top results in search engines.

In deciding the keywords, you should let your creativity shine. Even if your site ranks first, you may not be able to convert internet surfers into buyers. It should be catchy enough and would lead them directly to the site which contains the keyword they are searching for.

Aside from Google and Overture, other pay-per-click search engines include FindWhat, Maama, Ah-Ha, Sprinks, Boldsearch and 7Search. Basically, they all follow the same principles. What differs one from another is the search engines popularity and its affiliation to certain huge websites.

Since these search engines are independent from each other, searching on a keyword using one may turn out different results if you use other engines. Thus, you would have to decide which ones will suit your website content needs best.

It may not be very cost effective if you sign up for an account on several of these pay-per-click search engines. You will have to pay more, and sometimes, your profits may not be enough to justify all the associated costs.

Business consultants have agreed that e-commerce is the next generation of marketing. You just have to develop certain e-commerce skills to be successful in your online business.

Instant Online Church Marketing: Pay-Per-Click

For most websites, search engines are the primary source of web traffic. Search engine optimization is great way to get visitors to your church’s website, but it takes time. If only you could pay someone to skip ahead in line. You can! Pay-per-click search marketing is a way to get in the search engines for your targeted keywords in less than 24 hrs.

What is Pay-Per-Click Search Marketing?
With search engine optimization you attempt to increase your rankings in the natural search results by optimizing your website. The only thing you may have to pay for is the optimization, if you hire someone to optimize your website. All the traffic that you get from the search engines does cost you a thing. With Pay-Per-Click (PPC) search marketing, you don’t have to optimize your website (though I recommend you still do). Instead you bid to have your website listed in the search results for certain keywords and then pay for each visitor that comes to your website through that listing. So, every time someone clicks on your listing, you pay, thus pay-per-click.

The most common pay-per-click options are Google’s Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, and Microsoft Adcenter. Currently it’s estimated that Google controls about 90% of all pay-per-click search marketing (report), so I’m going to focus on Google Adwords.

The PPC ads are displayed on the top and right side of the search results. In most search engines, they are labeled as “Sponsored Links”.

How PPC Works:
Pay-per-click search marketing campaigns can be rather simple or quite complex depending on how involved you want to get. On the simple side, you can setup your church marketing PPC campaign in 6 steps:

Setup an account with Google Adwords
1. Choose the location and language for the ads (listings are called ads in PPC search marketing)
2. Setup the text for the ads
3. Pick the keywords you want to target
4. Choose a bidding price
5. Start the campaign

In fact you could probably get your PPC campaign going in about an hour or less.

More advanced Adwords users can setup targeted ads for each keyword or keyword group, track the click-through rate for each ad, and refine the ads to get the best click-through rate. You can refine your bids to get the best result for the lowest cost per click. You can also track the visitors that come to your site through your Adwords campaign, setup conversion goals (actions you want visitors to do), and setup landing pages on your site related to the keywords in your ad campaign. These more complicated steps are not necessary, but can produce better results.

For most churches, however, the simple approach will suffice. The keywords that will be most valuable to most churches are local keywords. So, you already have an idea of what keywords you want to choose. In addition, with pay-per-click campaigns, keyword popularity isn’t very important. Some keywords may get searched 100 times a month and others only 5 times a month, but you want to show up on the results for both and you don’t pay anything extra for it. So, keyword research is minimized.

The Best Marketing Value Ever?
For most local keywords, especially church-related keywords, few if any organizations are bidding. Therefore, keyword bids will most likely be very low (around $0.05 – $0.15 per click). Imagine getting new people to your website for only $0.05 to $0.15 each. Compare that to the cost of direct mail, billboards, newspaper ads, or any other kind of adverting and it’s an absolute bargain! Larger cities may require higher bids, but bids are still generally less than $0.50 per click.

Will Pay-Per-Click advertising help your site?

Advertising your services or products on the Internet is both
extremely effective and extremely competitive. There are several
ways to go about attracting traffic to your website;
Pay-Per-Click is one of the options you can choose from, along
with developing an SEO, or search engine optimization campaign.
Both pay-per-click and SEO are targeted to get your website
placed as close to the top of search engine results as possible.
One of the differences is that it takes minutes to set up a
pay-per-click campaign versus months for a good SEO campaign.

Pay-Per-Click is a simple type of paid advertising that most
search engines, including some of the largest ones, now offer.
It requires a bid for a “per-click” basis, which translates to
your company paying the bid amount every time the search engine
directs a visitor to your site. There is the added bonus that
when a per-click site sends your website traffic, your site
often appears in the results of other prevalent search engines.

As with all marketing campaigns, there are advantages and
disadvantages. If you understand the process and monitor your
pay-per-click campaign frequently, it can be very effective. One
of the greatest advantages is that you never have to tweak your
web pages to change your position in search engine results, as
you must do in a typical SEO campaign. What you do have to do in
a pay-per-click campaign is pay a fee.

Another advantage is the simplicity of the pay-per-click
process. You just bid and you’re up and running. It doesn’t
demand any specific technical knowledge, though the more you
know about search engines and keywords, the easier – and more
effective – the process will be.

The downside is that pay-per-click is essentially a bidding war.
A higher bid than yours will lower your position on search
engine results. This means that you will have to raise your bid
to regain your position – which can obviously become quite
expensive, especially if you are bidding on a popular keyword.

In order to determine if pay-per-click is a cost effective form
of marketing for your business, you must do some computing to
figure out how much each visitor to your site is worth. You can
compute this value by dividing the profit you make on your
website over a given period of time by the total number of
visitors for that same time period. For example, if your site
made $5,000 in profits and there were 2,5000 hits, each visitor
would be theoretically worth 50 cents. The basic formula is
profits divided by visitors.

The figure of 50 cents per visitor is the point at which your
business breaks even. The idea, of course, is to show a profit,
not to merely cover your costs. Therefore, you are aiming at a
figure less than 50 cents per click.

Be aware that the most popular keywords often cost considerably
more than 50 cents a click. The only way around this is to bid
less for these phrases or you will be paying too much for each
individual hit.

The key (pun intended) to success is to learn everything you can
about search engine keyword research. The good news is there
isn’t a limit to the amount of keywords you can add to your bid
because additional keywords do not add additional cost. This
translates into a lot less hassle for you because there is no
need to optimize your site to index a particular set of keywords.

Obviously, some keywords are much more effective than others
are, but they will not cost you anything except time to set-up
your account in your pay-per-click bid. Of the popular search
engines that offer pay-per-click, one called Overture provides
an online tool that will give you the data on how often
particular keywords are entered into their search engine. They
also offer suggestions for keywords after you enter a
description of your site.

In pay-per-click, this written description is crucial. You must
understand that the object of your description is not to
generally attract visitors, but to be as specific as possible so
that only those visitors who are likely to buy your service or
product go to your site. You must use expert marketing copy to
guarantee that your description is both precise and enticing to
attract the most ideal candidates to your site. This description
is your most powerful tool to insure that your bid is profitable.

Another essential element of pay-per-click advertising is that
you constantly monitor your bid. It is very important that you
bear in mind that the results of the top search engines
providing pay-per-click advertising, which are Overture and
Adwords Select, usually appear on other popular search engines.
Because of this, the competition for top ranking is intense, and
very often you will find that the bidding price balloons too
high for pay-per-click to yield a profit.

If this happens, it is advisable to withdraw your bid on that
particular keyword and try another one. Remember: when you pay
too much per click to make a profit, you are in essence losing
the bidding war.

Since losing is not acceptable, you must have a plan in place to
closely track the effectiveness of your keyword. It is advisable
to monitor your keywords on at least a monthly basis.

Not only is careful monitoring important, but the analysis of
visitor behavior can produce invaluable knowledge about consumer
motivation, habits, and trends. Expert monitoring and consumer
analysis is essential to your overall business needs, and will
also insure that your pay-per-click campaign is a success

Pay-per-click advertisement: Present predicament and future alternatives

The phenomenal growth of pay-per-click advertisement amid uncertainties

Today pay-per-click advertising, by and large, is assumed to be one of the quickest and effective ways of promoting one’s business online. To many it is still an effective medium to get listed in the top of the search engines without having to undertake strenuous preparatory works for search engine optimization.

But the beginning was not the same as it is now. Rather this concept encountered bleeding teething problems in its progressive strides. The idea was not well-received; some critics even went to the extent of prophesying that it is definitely headed for a doom.

People questioned the rationale of paying any penny for getting web site in prominent positions where the search is exclusively keyword driven. They justified their proposition by saying that as against the banner ad, pay-per-click is relatively minor advertising stunt, and that too is not there all the time.

As of now, situations have taken a positive turn. The success saga of pay-per-click advertising is known to one and all. Now advertisers promptly bid on keywords, promising to pay certain amount of money every time someone clicks on their ad, which pops up when a search exercise is performed by any surfer.

Pay-per-click advertisement is in eye of the storm

Pay-per-click advertisement has grown over the years, but it has also become susceptible to what is referred to as “Click Fraud.” There are an increasing number of people, who have mastered the art of tampering with pay-per-click advertisement, and have posed a real threat to the prospects of pay-per-click advertisement for online advertisers and the companies offering them.

Click fraud comes into picture when a user — accidentally or deliberately — or a competitor with malafide intention, clicks on a business’ ad and subsequently disappears into the thin air. No actual use of the advertisement — mere clicking through. Such instances tend to inflate the earmarked advertising budget of the company which has chosen this medium for online sales and marketing. On the other side of the fence, it adds to earning potential of an affiliate web site which hosts pay-per-click advertisement campaign on behalf of select companies opting for this genre online advertising.Statistics from the industry reveal that click frauds account for as high as 20 per cent for certain keywords. Further, estimate suggests that one out every five dollars spend on pay-per-click advertisement goes down the drain.

What led to the present messy situations?

Definitely the present state of pay-per-click advertisements has given its doom pundits a reason to rejoice, and they may be basking in their proud moments. Many companies have turned to the advantages of such kind of web promotion, while small and mid-sized firms have realized that pay-per-click- advertisement is particularly beneficial for them because they don’t have to put in much investment.

This was until click fraud did not begin to spread its ugly wings. Now it is a roller-coaster ride for companies, and they are wishing to have some way for plugging in the loopholes existing in the system.

Let’s understand the reasons for such messy state of affairs.

The “gold rush” can be blamed on more than one count. This fact is deplorable that it is excessively easy to publish pay-per-click advertising links from Google and Yahoo. What suffices for the purpose is joining Google AdSense or corresponding Yahoo program. Your business gets a fillip, and you do not have to spare even a penny.

It is highly inexpensive to purchase a domain name, and this is another major reason for the predicament pay-per-click advertisement is faced with. VeriSign, which runs the .com and .net domain names, offers domain names for as little as $6 to $7 per year. Hence, a web site hosting pay-per-click ads doesn’t’t need to get many people clicking through its ads in order to turn a profit. To make it worse, there is five-day “Add Grace Period,” during which new registrations can be deleted for a full refund.

Is the time ripe for switching over to other online advertising model, if any?

Bill Gross was the force behind GoTo.com’s “pay-per-click” advertising model which heralded an era of pop-ups advertisement. GoTo.com was subsequently purchased by Yahoo in 2003, and later on Google also adopted a similar online advertising medium called AdWords. But click fraud inflicted them all.

Bill Gross’ new advertising model called cost-per-action holds answer to challenge posed by click fraud. The model aptly called cost-per-action is based on the premise that companies do not have to pay every time a user clicks on an ad and enter their web sites. Payment becomes obligatory only when clicking through an ad leads to a desired action, for instance, a purchase, filling out a firm, downloading some stuff and so forth. The bottom line in this model is that this is mutually beneficial this time around on an equitable basis.

This model is inherently and fundamentally strong not to give click fraud a chance. Click fraud occurs when someone visits an advertiser’s web site with malicious intention for securing pecuniary advantage or harming the interest of other partner. Since the advertiser is no longer under obligation to pay for damn mindless clicks, click fraud can’t happen.

Snap.com is leading from the front

This online advertising model, better described as “a next-generation search engine for broadband users.” was characteristic feature of Snap.com, which launched it for the first time. Snap.com has some other enabling technology going for it. It joins algorithmic search results together with human click stream data, and calls it “behavioral ranking.” The cardinal principle here is that sites which give people more value will rank higher than others who do not. Snap.com holds the reason that values are measurable in terms of quality of content and number of transactions completed. The higher the qualities of content, the longer surfers are likely to be engrossed is what Snap.com believes in.

Cost-per-action model seems to be all set to grow manifold. Sooner than the later, it will influence other search engines to adopt their own versions of its model and become more customer-centric. The possibility is not far off that this time around Bill Gross’s innovative approach is deservedly purchased by Google.

A Great Way To Get Pay-Per-Click Ads For Free

Author admin    Category Pay Per Click     Tags , ,

A gentleman from New York discovered what he calls an “oversight” on the part of 99.9% of all marketers that allows him to get otherwise paid-for advertising at Google as well as all other search engines that allow sponsored ads.

And no, nothing about his “secret” is illegal – nor does it require that you know someone on the “inside” at Google, Yahoo, MSN, Overture and others.

Instead, the New Yorker boasts proudly “…this is something that I caught onto just before 2000 when there was so much search engine craze running around, and started doing small just to test things at first … but which I later expanded on after getting the hang of it.”

This same fellow went on to start and operate sixteen separate online companies selling everything from pet food, DVDs, children’s toys & games, books, software, and sold not only his own manufactured products but became an affiliate for other web businesses – all the while applying his mastermind secret.

Over the course of nearly eight years the New Englander confesses “I’ve actually gotten over $87 million in advertising that using my secret I never had to pay for … and the largest share of which was more recently in Google pay-per-clicks as well as other forms of pad advertising at search engines … all of which I got for free …”

I must say it really is a new twist on an age-old concept. You may have seen what are called “Ad Sheets” in business opportunity newspapers over the past few years. The designer of the Ad Sheet buys full-page print ad space in bulk so as to receive a sizable discount in the publication. Next, advertisers who could not afford to place ads at regular rates in the publication, instead send their ads to the Ad Sheet organizer who then arranges the ads onto a blank template the size of a full page in the publication and inserts the full-page ad into the magazine or newspaper at his discounted rate.

The net result is, advertisers get the same exposure for a fraction of the cost, while the Ad Sheet organizer makes a healthy profit. It truly is a win-win-win situation for the Ad Sheet organizer, the publication, and the advertisers.

This same concept can be applied to a web page where ad space is sold in the form of banners and text links in order to cover the cost of pay-per-click advertising. The resulting PPC traffic is monetized by offering them ad space on the web page, in addition to presenting offers of interest initially described in the PPC ads.

It’s a most ingenious concept to generate free advertising, and surprising that it had not surfaced on a widespread basis much sooner.

Google Pay-Per-Click DEFCON Alpha!

If you have run, are running or are thinking about running a Google Adwords pay-per-click (PPC) campaign (or any PPC campaign for that matter), pay close attention! This could save you a lot of money!

I’d take the time to introduce myself but there’s no time. We’re in DEFCON Alpha and a lot of you out there are being affected!

As more and more “traditional media” based companies are getting into the PPC marketing space, I feel the utter frustration from business owners’ first-hand. I’m frustrated as well! There are just too many companies out there wasting your money! And I feel obligated to challenge the PPC wannabes and rid the marketing world of those that are just out to collect your money.

Look, don’t get me wrong. We’re all out to make money and I don’t blame the large companies losing market share to online marketing to try to compete in this space. What I do take issue with is that they are bastardizing what could be one of the most effective and efficient forms of direct marketing out there (despite what natural SEO guys are saying – I’ll get into that debate later).

So how do you know what a good Google Adwords PPC campaign looks like? Next time you sit down with a rep trying to sell you on an online PPC marketing campaign, ask them the following:

Can you tell me the estimated amount of clicks on a daily and monthly basis on a list of keywords relative to my business within the specific geographical area that I service? Can you tell me the average cost-per-click that I’ll pay on a list of keywords relative to my business?  How do you determine what days/times to run my campaign? To what pages on my site do you direct traffic to? How do you measure the success of this campaign? How often to I receive reports? Do you disclose all the keywords, costs, and ads to me? What is your set-up and management fee and how much of my budget is going to clicks? Can you guarantee that when my ad appears, it will appear in the top 1-3 positions? How do you choose the keywords for my campaign?

These are just 10 of MANY questions you should ask but a great start. Any company trying to sell you a PPC campaign should be able to answer every single one of these questions in detail. At no point, should the answer be “we can’t do that!”

How to Get Pay-per-click Advertising for Free

A medical doctor originally from New England quit his practice in early 1999 and joined the ranks of the Internet entrepreneurs making their livings online.

After a short while experimenting with highly-targeted pay-per-click advertising he discovered a shocking oversight that most every other online promoter is still very much unaware of that allows him to get literally $10 million’s in otherwise paid-for advertising but for free.

Originally not wanting to divulge this secret, the former medical practitioner maintained absolute secrecy as he went about starting over fifteen online businesses that specialized in selling everything from pet food to men and women’s clothing, all the way down to electronic toys and games software (such as PlayStation, XBox, GameBoy, etc), and all the while getting free pay-per-click advertising.

His secret allowed him to top every single competitor he had for any set of keywords and phrases as he could still outbid them and set his daily budget well above theirs so much so that he literally dominated each individual niche-market even to an almost monopolistic degree.

Over a nearly eight year period to date this same gentleman has sold in excess of $300 million worth of business product, and over $166 million in the past three years alone.

The entire time this fellow has chosen to remain out of the limelight as he’s developed further and perfected his secret to getting unlimited dollars’ worth in pay-per-click targeted advertising.

He considers his secret as a weapon that provides him with an unfair advantage over everyone else, and has enjoyed using it almost exclusively.

While he admits that he’s seen several other web business owners applying his secret to some measure, it’s never been sufficiently to equal, much less exceed his application of it.

Additionally, from among the few others applying an approximation of it, they have yet to really realize how to apply it exactly as the good doctor, and have overlooked it manifold dimensions.

If done to the fullest and from all sides, any promoter can get even $1 million a day in paid-for Google advertising but without paying one dime for it, and while maintaining only the top most preferred premium spots on every page and for all keywords used.

Lastly you should know that nothing he’s doing is illegal, nor does it steal revenues from the pay-per-click search engines.

So fantastic a secret this is that you must see it for yourself in its entirety as it’s now readily available for your use and profit at http://sg-design.net/freeads.html for a limited time only.

After all this time the good doctor has decided that releasing his secret won’t threaten his own wealth or application of it, and he’s going to allow for a limited number of copies be sold before withdrawing it permanently.

So if you are wanting to get $1 million’s in pay-per-clicks at Google so that you can gain his upper advantage for yourself, then I strongly suggest you hurry and secure this for yourself before you risk forever missing out on it.
