In today’s market it can be difficult to get your brand recognized, to stand out from the crowd. In the past it was enough to put an ad in the local paper, hand out flyers or stick an employee out on the roadside wearing a sandwich board promoting your projects - these tactics would have been driving business to your door! But, as they say, times have changed. We live in a world where people are inundated with ads: on the computer, in the store, driving down the road, on the radio and television that people often tune ads out as white noise. How then, do you market and advertise your business so that you can get noticed and increase your sales?
There are many new, and some old, avenues you can use to promote your business. We live in an age of instantaneous communication with Facebook, Twitter, the internet and so forth. In fact, these are all great platforms to use in advertising and marketing your business –
Facebook: Facebook isn’t just for your college student, at least not anymore. Businesses can set up a local business page on Facebook and invite friends, family and colleagues to be their “friends”. Facebook pages are a great place to send out user-friendly blurbs explaining your services, provide information about your location and operating hours and add a backlink to your website. Additionally, businesses can buy Facebook ads which are sure to drive traffic.
Twitter: Twitter is the ultimate in instantaneous communication. It seems like everyone is on Twitter theses days, from famous athletes, singers and actresses to politicians and probably your grandma! Twitter is a great way to let people know about your business. Businesses that offer a lot of different products and specials would benefit from having a Twitter account. You can let people know you are having a “Buy One, Get One” sale the moment you think of it.
Search engine optimization: Another way to get your business noticed is to employ search engine optimization tactics. SEO is focused on getting your website to perform well in the search engine results. You can optimize your search engine results by focusing your website on specific keywords. There are many ways to go about optimizing your search engine results, including hiring a website marketing company.
Trade shows, presentations and press releases: Ahh, holdovers from the good old days! Sometimes the simplest way to promote your business is the best way to promote your business. Many business industries have trade shows and conferences that you can attend. This is a great way for people to come in contact with your business and products and for you to really show what you can do! Presentations and press releases are also great ways to market your services or products. A great presentation is sure to capture people’s attention and turn them into potential customers.
These are just a few suggestions for marketing, advertising and promoting your business. You can give these tactics a shot on your own or contact an advertising agency, marketing agency or branding agency. Whatever you choose, do it soon! It’s a great big competitive market out there and you don’t want to fall behind!

Start Your Affiliate Marketing Career With Simple Landing Pages

Are you just getting started in Internet Marketing and you want to sell something? Not having your own product, you decide to try affiliate marketing (selling someone else’s product). OK, great…but how do you do it?
You can buy hundreds of ebooks all with different “systems” or strategies and you can find lots of free information as well. Eventually though, you are going to realize that you will need to make some landing pages.
What are landing pages? Landing pages are where you want your visitor to “land” and once there, you hope they click on your link to go to the sellers website where they will then buy the product.
Why not just link directly to the sellers website? Why do you need a landing page at all? Well, it depends on how you are going to get your visitor to the sellers site. A popular way is by writing articles, having them published, and having readers find those articles and click on the links inside them. The problem is that many article sites do not allow direct affiliate marketing links. They will allow links to your website or landing page but not directly to the seller.
You can learn a lot about landing pages by typing in “What are landing pages” in Google. You will find lots of useful information and tips galore on how to make great landing pages. But just like everything else on the Internet, after reading 10 or so different articles, you may be no closer to making one and confused about exactly what you should do.
I believe the best way to get started is by making simple landing pages that pretty much say to the viewer ‘here is the product and here is where you get it”. I don’t do a lot of “pre-selling” on my landing pages and many Internet marketers would disagree with that. The common consensus is that you should warm your visitor up to the sale by reviewing the item and/or telling them how great it is.
The problem with that is that it is difficult to write convincingly about something you know little about. Another problem for beginners is that their writing skills may not be up to par…at least not yet. That is why I recommend setting up something simple at first.
My opinion is that it is my job (or you might say the landing page’s job) to get the visitor to the seller’s website. It is the seller’s job from there to convert the sale. I sort of just open the door for customers to walk through and let the product and shopkeeper do the rest. If they can’t do their job, then I have to at some time move to another product.
Open up a free blog at Blogger and make your site as pretty and color coordinated as you can (some people will obviously be better at this than others) and do a lot of copying and pasting graphics and words from your sellers website. Only use one link to the seller’s website though, as using free blogs for marketing is frowned on and if you overdo it they could suspend you. Ideally you should get your own domain and hosting but that can be done once you start making money.
Basically you are making a big advertisement that says “This is where you get so and so product”. If the people you drive to your blog want that product, then they will click on the link to find out more. Once they do that, you have done your job. Making a landing page is the easy part: getting targeted traffic to your website or blog is much harder.

Free Online Traffic for Your Website in 4 Simple Steps
While there are basically only two ways for you to sell or advertise your affiliate products that you may have signed up for, I am going to go through 4 Simple steps to obtain free online traffic for your website. Like many of us when we first started out, money was not just pouring out of our pockets to pay for traffic so we had to be creative on how to obtain free online traffic. These steps are really easy and if you dive into learning more about each one and have a thirty day commitment to at least one of them and produce at least on piece a day you will be pleasantly surprised.
I hear many people go back and forth which causes a huge debate over the phrase “free traffic”. I know, before you say it, my time is worth money and I totally agree, my time is very valuable and this is why I use many of the following traffic generating actions because they start percolating and will work very powerfully for you moving into the future. When I use the word “free traffic” I am referring to the idea that it did not cost you any out of pocket expenses. Now that we got that cleared up, let’s move forward.
I sharing with you some strategies that I know will generate free online traffic for your website as long as you learn and consistently take actions. I have seen too many people start one of these and after a week they see no traffic and give up on the strategy, let me be the first to warn you; you will probably not see traffic after just one video, one ad or one article. I didn’t and most don’t so just keep moving forward.
Think of the millions of other websites, marketers, and affiliates out on the internet right now; there is so much competition on all the thousands of different niches. If you do give up and accept defeat, you are only giving complete satisfaction to the other marketers and you just made their prospecting one step easier. You want more free online traffic for your website? Well follow these steps and recommendations and you will.
YouTube Videos – As we all know YouTube is now owned by Google, and who is Google….only the largest search engine in the world. What does that mean? It means that any good business move is to promote and invest in your current products or service you own. Now I am no fortune teller and this is my opinion only; but think about it. Google wants their purchase of YouTube to be a good one and they want to have a great return on investment, they are going to emphasis on YouTube and make some upgrades. Videos are a very powerful tool, it does not cost you anything to open an account on YouTube, doesn’t cost you any money to upload videos and people love watching videos.
An idea for those of you that do not feel good on video – neither did most of as we started, we were stumbling over our words, we paused to catch our thoughts but we took action and did it anyway. If you definitely don’t want to be on camera you have to ability to make slide shows, they are video’s and you can add animations to them. There are many free tools that you can obtain to help you with this.
Think about this, if you can upload 5 video’s a day, after the end of the month – you will have roughly 150 video’s and when people share them through social media, you get out in front of that many more people; again, no out of pocket costs to you.
A hot tip for you is to use the description of the video is to insert your landing page or website you want to obtain free traffic for.
A second hot tip is to use a video distribution tool like Tubemogul, while there is a free and a paid version, I don’t use them much but have had known many friends that have used them with much success.
Classified Ads – There are thousands of free classified ad sites and they will definitely drive free online traffic to your website, but you need to make sure you have a very compelling ad and direct them to a site that is very evident in what they need to do, with a good call to action.
Answer Sites – This has been w well known way to obtain free traffic to your site but due to the amount of spammers out on the internet and the marketers that decide to not provide any value to the world, many answer sites have beefed up their policies and screening. I have found like many others, if you provide a good answer, feedback or provide value to the discussion, you can be and will be successful. If you jump on any site really and just shout your site, a product or service, you will and should get banned.
With many of the sites, you just need to build your profile, be genuine, and have a full description of yourself, somewhat like you do on Facebook. Add a picture of allowed, people want to be able to see who they are getting the information from. Many times you will need to add a few answers or adding value before you can start posting your site. You really should give some thought before you submit an answer and they always should be in between three or four sentences, and make sure that your spelling and grammar are correct. Remember your name and reputation is attached to your work, your answer and your website.
If you feel that you want to take this approach but feel uncomfortable in answering on the topic, there are a couple things that you could do. You could read up on the subject and do some investigations or you could outsource.
Search Engine Optimization – Search Engine Optimization or also known as SEO for many of us, is probably the best way to get free online traffic to your website. The question is though how do you get your website to rank on page one of a search engine on some of the most popular keywords.
SEO is a constant strategy that requires more and more effort on your part, as content provided to readers needs to be fresh and up to date. Once you are able to get a certain website to rank for certain keywords in your niche, you need to constantly build links. Starting out with a new website means you need to start out slowly, the search engines have been doing this much longer then you have and they are much smarter…..sorry to say but it is the truth. With a new site, only get maybe 15-20 links a week for the first month, this will not flag your site as spammy.
When you do get links to your site, make sure that they are relevant; having 10 relevant links to your site is much more powerful than having 100 irrelevant links.

Social Media – i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, My Space and hundreds more

Simple Tricks to Make Your Site More Social Media Ready

Once thought to be a passing fad, and although still relatively new, social media is now taking a firm hold and warrants attention in many retailers’ online marketing efforts.
You can’t avoid it. No matter where you turn it seems you hear terms like “fan page”, “followers”, “tweet”, “re-tweet”, “blog” and more being used. With all the social media hype, many are questioning what social media actually is and how they can use it to move their business forward.
In this article I am going to explain what social media is, provide some strategies for making your site more social media friendly, touch upon differences between options presented by major social media outlets, and answer the question of whether you should do it yourself, or hire a consultant to do it for you.
Social Media can be time consuming, but when implemented correctly can add a level to your business that helps build brand loyalty, and awareness which in turn can boost your bottom line.
What is Social Media?
Wikipedia defines social media as: media designed to be disseminated through social interaction, created using highly accessible and scalable publishing techniques. Social media uses Internet and web-based technologies to transform broadcast media monologues (one to many) into social media dialogues (many to many). It supports the democratization of knowledge and information, transforming people from content consumers into content producers.
In other words, it is a group of Internet-based applications that utilize new web concepts to promote user generated content.
Examples of some of the major social applications currently online are Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
Twitter can be seen as a “micro blog” type service that enables you to post short messages of up to 140 characters that are fed in real time to your followers. Facebook is more of a “publishing” platform which enables you to create a page that integrates multiple media options into one (i.e. discussion boards, blogs, photos, shopping carts, etc…) YouTube is a service that enables you to produce video content to the masses (possibly to demonstrate the use of your product.)
The power and uniqueness of each provides pros and cons. Because Facebook has a little more of a learning curve to it and because it has a number of options to choose from, I’ll briefly touch upon that below.
Simple Tricks to Make Your Site More Social Media Friendly
Whether or not you’re on social media platforms or not, odds are you’re customers are. They’re sharing your URL with their friends on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or MySpace.
If you want to engage in social media marketing, you’ll want to be sure to have that presence reflected on your e-commerce site.
Social Sharing
There are dozens of sites you can visit that will provide embeddable code which can be used to create social networking icons on your site. These icons make it easy for visitors to share what they like about your site with their social media friends and followers.
A couple of sites worth checking out are ShareThis. ShareThis is a tool you can install on your site that makes it easier for visitors to share with their network. You’ve probably seen some form of ShareThis on news sites. There are typically several icons spread out in a horizontal line or grouped together under a header of “Share.” Installing this tool lets your visitors easily spread the word via social networking sites about a page or website – yours – they like.
Add This is very similar to ShareThis. Both require site registration and a little publisher information, but both are also easy to use and do basically the same thing.
Show off your Social Media presence
If you’re on several social networking sites, it behooves you to display that affiliation somewhere on your site. For the consummate online shopper, these links show you’re not just an e-commerce beginner. The more social media sites you’re a part of, the more web-knowledgeable you look and the greater brand awareness you can build.
You can display your social media links either in self-created sidebar module or by using sites like Lijit ( http://www.lijit.com ). Lijit is similar to ShareThis; however, rather than pushing people out social networking sites, Lijit pulls them into your other sites.
Facebook Fan Page or Group?
A question that often gets asked when it comes to Facebook and brands is should you build a Facebook Group Page or a Fan Page?
It is a good question and the answer depends mostly on what your plans are for your site. I’ve broken down the pros and cons of both a fan page versus a group page below.
Facebook Fan Page
Facebook Fan Pages are a great option for brands – including e-commerce sites – that plan on posting information at least once a week.
Facebook Fan Page Pro’s:
* Looks polished; closely resembles an individual profile page
* Can include videos, photos, links, events, etc.
* Can be fed into “fans’” update stream similar to an individual profile update
* Can be given a customized url similar to an individual profile
* Hides the name and address of the page creator
* Offers options to add applications such as a Twitter feed
* Includes a “wall” similar to individual profiles that people can post comments on
* Can be paired with a Facebook Fan Page Widget on your site
Facebook Fan Page Con’s:
* More difficult to manage conversations between fans
* Conversations are on display for the public to see
* Unable to convert Facebook Groups to Fan Pages if you’ve already got a Group page set up
* Until you have an adequate number of fans, you’ll be posting a lot
* A dismal Fan Page linked to your site can hurt your inbound links in SEO
Facebook Group Page
Facebook Group pages are easy to create and slightly more personal than a Fan Page. Because it is not a constantly fed profile-like page, posts do not need to be as often.
Facebook Group Pro’s
* Can be more intimate; people see who created the group
* Still allows for pictures, photos, videos, events, etc. to be posted
* Allows for emails to be sent to all group members
* Pre-dates Fan Pages; more familiarity among early adopters of Facebook
Facebook Group Con’s
* Visitors must visit your group page for updates
* Does not allow applications to be added to the group page
* Offers visibility
* Will automatically post related groups to your group page whether you want them or not
* Cannot be linked to your site via widget(s)
The Verdict? Consider a Facebook Fan Page if you want to keep your “fans” up to date on the goings on of your site. Consider a Group if you have a niche within your site that people might want to create conversations about.
Should You Hire a Social Media Consultant for Your Site?
With the hundreds of social sites and applications available, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. When you’re already trying to keep your e-commerce business afloat, social media can seem unnecessary and time-consuming.
Research has shown, however, that e-commerce retailers are reaping the benefits of this new media channel (i.e., offering better customer service and increased sales) so it pays to use it.
Not everyone is social media savvy nor do they have the time which is why a lot of companies hire consultants to help them with their campaigns.
Do you need a consultant or should you do your own work?
When to hire a social media consultant:
* If you really do not have the time to commit to a social marketing campaign.
* If you don’t have the time to learn the ins and outs of social applications.
* If you don’t consider yourself a strong writer and/or interactive with your audience.
* If you want to launch a large social media campaign and need experts to help get things off the ground.
* If you tend to defer project work to experts rather than attempt to try it yourself.
When to do your own social media work:
* If you’re familiar with social media sites (like YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook) and use them on a personal basis.
* If you’re a quick-learner and tech-savvy.
* If you’re planning a small campaign with only one or two social sites.
* If you have content ready to post on a blog (or Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
Note: Social media consultants tend to pay per project or per hour depending on their rates and availability.
What We’ve Learned
Social media seems to be here to stay. It most certainly will evolve and change as time goes, but you can be sure that in one form or another social media will continue. It’s much like the TV or radio were when they began and the power it harnesses for those who use it will shine through.
It can bring awareness to your product or brand and help you build a stronger relationship with your customers which can lead to greater sales and future growth for your business.
Having said that, keep in mind that social media can be time consuming and integrating a social media marketing campaign into your business should not be taken lightly. Proper planning and implementation is critical to your success-you may even want to consider hiring an expert to handle it for you. This will largely depend on your needs, budget, and time you have to allocate your own resources to getting the job done in-house.
When it comes to Facebook and the choice between creating a Fan Page or a Group, you’ll want to consider your objective before you determine which is best for you. Fan Pages are best for pushing brands and for ecommerce sites that can commit to posting at least once per week. Consider a Facebook Group if you want a more personal touch and if you can’t commit to posting at least once per week.
Integrating social media into your site is easy. There are sites that provide the code and icons for you to simply paste into your web structure. Once you are utilizing social media make sure you display it on your site so customers know where to find you.
Remember, social media is a tool that can push your business and brand forward. Plan carefully and choose wisely. Like those that harnessed the power of TV and radio, social media adopters will see the benefits with time.

Every once in a while you should add something a little extra into your online marketing efforts. While everyone scrambles to figure out how to use Facebook and Twitter every day for immediate buzz, it’s still very important to slowly establish your website as a local authority.
In our measurements so far we see absolutely zero optimization value from Twitter links or Facebook links back to your website. Usually when someone links from another website to yours it will help build your authority status. But that doesn’t seem to be the case with Twitter or Facebook.
The more information you publish to the web outside of social media, the more inbound links you will accumulate. Article publishing and blogging on sites other than your own will help.
Another possibility is to issue news releases online. A very popular paid news release house is PRWeb.com. If you have the money, use this professionally recognized and reputable service, and they allow video and PDF attachments to each release.
There are also dozens of smaller, free, news release websites. Once of the basic sites we use is PRlog.com
You should issue a simple press release the next time you run an event, or get a new inventory line in the store. The press release has the event details as well as links back to your website. Once published, these press releases last forever, and so will the links.
Press Release writing is easy to learn. Keep in mind that mostly news outlets will filter through your releases. Other sources will capture and display the ad as well, like news feeds in a browser toolbar, news feeds on cell phones, and web applications that display current local news side by side with emails you are reading.
You might also find your news release appearing in some daily jewelry trade newsletters. JCKOnline.com includes short stories or press releases all the time in their daily eNewsletter.
And finally, your local newspaper may even notice the release and call you for an extended interview that can turn into a lot of local publicity.
Even if you don’t get the publicity, these press releases help build online reputation, authority and links. It’s easy and free.

The Simple Internet Marketing Strategies

You must be serious in building your internet marketing business if you are reading this. But if you have been in the industry long enough, you will know that there are no real secrets behind a successful internet marketing business. It is all about strategies.
Then, what are these internet marketing strategies?
1. Planning
The first internet marketing strategy is about planning.
Do you have a plan? If you do, what is your plan?
So, you have to know what you want for your internet marketing business. Is it selling your service as a financial consultant or selling your ebook about financial control?
You will determine the right approaches if you have your plan in mind. Let’s say you are trying to sell your service as a financial consultant, you should target the market that has more money to spend to manage their finance. If you are selling just an ebook, you can target the market who wants to manage their finance on their own.
2. Marketing
Get this, your job as a successful internet marketer is to focus on marketing.
People go online to look for information and they are willing to pay for your product if it fulfills their need. So, the first thing you need to do is to look for your profitable market. Where are these people hiding?
One of the places to look for them is in forums.
Be a regular poster and answer the members’ questions. Never ask anything from them as this is might be part of the rule of certain forums and the members will dislike you if they need to do something for you to get your answer.
Never afraid to reveal too much information. It is the information that you reveal that determine your expertise in the market. The more knowledge you share with the members, the more likely they are to get your product.
3. Execution
It doesn’t matter whether you have the perfect plan or the best marketing strategies in the internet marketing history. You are going to fail in internet marketing if you are reluctant to take action to build your business.
Somehow, a lot of internet marketer newbie like to procrastinate.
Some claim that it is because of their fear of failure, fear of success, lack of confidence, perfectionism and other reasons. But no matter what the reason is, the simplest fact is that you need to start doing something for your internet marketing business today.
It is normal that you will fail initially in your internet marketing venture. But if you fall down, just pick yourself up, sweep the dirt off and go for it again in a new approach.
4. Be genuine
It is easy to slap some over promise statements on your website, offer them outdated bonus and get them to pay expensively. Earn your ,000 fast and leave the market.
You can do that if you want to earn short term income but if you want to earn a long term income online. You must be sincere in what you do.
You need to contribute positively to make an impact on others life. Share more tips and information to help others succeed in their internet marketing business. Let them know that you really care for them and they will be happy to do business with you.

Simple easy network marketing is practical if you go about creating your internet business in a simple logical manner. And, it does not need to cost you a arm and a leg to begin. In this article I am going to attempt to show you in brief how this can be achieved. And how you can earn extra income with only the basic computer skills.
Internet marketing in a nut shell is a simple and easy idea. What can make it difficult is the lack of the correct ‘how to’ knowledge. Oh there are thousands of Ebooks written by the so called Guru’s. All claiming to have the secret to overnight riches. But, here is the shocker. There is no such thing as instant online wealth!
To have any measure of success in network marketing you will need to prepare yourself for the long Haul. It will take time and a lot of effort. You will also need a good helping of determination and perseverance to keep you going. So, if you are by nature a very lazy person. Then internet marketing is not for you.
The first decision you need to make is how do you intend to earn. Will it be with the creation of your own website, marketing your own product, joining some or other Multi-level-marketing program or by selling other peoples products.?
Selling other peoples products for a commission is by far the most simple way to start network marketing. The number one resource for this method of marketing is Click bank. This is a good place to find products to sell, and membership is free. There are thousands upon thousands of products to choose from and the commissions paid are reasonably high, so you efforts will be well rewarded.
As selling other peoples products is the easiest way to start in internet marketing, I am going to explain to you the steps that you need to follow to sell other peoples products.
Firstly, you will need to select a product. It can be any product that offers a reasonable commission. As a rule of thumb, I would not go for any product paying less then .00 commission. Important! DO NOT! select products directed at the internet marketing field. Although it is the highest paid market. There is just too much competition in this field. Rather focus on products from other niche areas such as health, entertainment etc.
Once you have the product, you need to decide on how you are going to sell it. There are two basic methods, either by paid advertising with Adwords at Google. The only disadvantage with Google Adwords is that the ads can, if not done correctly, cost you a bundle.
The second method would be to do the marketing from your own website. For the long-term benefits that a website offers. I would go for the own website option. So this is where I will concentrate the next step.
Now comes the tricky part. You need to decide on a number of keywords that are linked to the product. (words that people type in the search engine to find the product). There are lots of free keyword suggestion tools available to help you in this area. A basic search would guide you to them.
Next you will design and build your website around the product and related keywords. Once again, there are free website designing tools available that make the task very easy for the newcomer to web design.
once this step is finished, you will need to register a domain name for your website and also find a hosting company, through which you will present your website to the world. There are lot’s of reasonable companies out there that offer these services.
And lastly, you will need to attract customers to your site who will buy the product or products that you are marketing. There are a number of ways that this can be achieved, but the most productive method is by writing and submitting articles to Article Directories.
In this article I have shown you the basic steps to follow to set up your own business. However, it is not what you do but how you do it that will dictate your level of success. Knowledge is power and with some knowledge in the key areas. You will discover that Simple Easy Network Marketing is possible.
