Start Your Affiliate Marketing Career With Simple Landing Pages

Are you just getting started in Internet Marketing and you want to sell something? Not having your own product, you decide to try affiliate marketing (selling someone else’s product). OK, great…but how do you do it?


You can buy hundreds of ebooks all with different “systems” or strategies and you can find lots of free information as well. Eventually though, you are going to realize that you will need to make some landing pages.


What are landing pages? Landing pages are where you want your visitor to “land” and once there, you hope they click on your link to go to the sellers website where they will then buy the product.


Why not just link directly to the sellers website? Why do you need a landing page at all? Well, it depends on how you are going to get your visitor to the sellers site. A popular way is by writing articles, having them published, and having readers find those articles and click on the links inside them. The problem is that many article sites do not allow direct affiliate marketing links. They will allow links to your website or landing page but not directly to the seller.


You can learn a lot about landing pages by typing in “What are landing pages” in Google. You will find lots of useful information and tips galore on how to make great landing pages. But just like everything else on the Internet, after reading 10 or so different articles, you may be no closer to making one and confused about exactly what you should do.


I believe the best way to get started is by making simple landing pages that pretty much say to the viewer ‘here is the product and here is where you get it”. I don’t do a lot of “pre-selling” on my landing pages and many Internet marketers would disagree with that. The common consensus is that you should warm your visitor up to the sale by reviewing the item and/or telling them how great it is.


The problem with that is that it is difficult to write convincingly about something you know little about. Another problem for beginners is that their writing skills may not be up to par…at least not yet. That is why I recommend setting up something simple at first.


My opinion is that it is my job (or you might say the landing page’s job) to get the visitor to the seller’s website. It is the seller’s job from there to convert the sale. I sort of just open the door for customers to walk through and let the product and shopkeeper do the rest. If they can’t do their job, then I have to at some time move to another product.


Open up a free blog at Blogger and make your site as pretty and color coordinated as you can (some people will obviously be better at this than others) and do a lot of copying and pasting graphics and words from your sellers website. Only use one link to the seller’s website though, as using free blogs for marketing is frowned on and if you overdo it they could suspend you. Ideally you should get your own domain and hosting but that can be done once you start making money.


Basically you are making a big advertisement that says “This is where you get so and so product”. If the people you drive to your blog want that product, then they will click on the link to find out more. Once they do that, you have done your job. Making a landing page is the easy part: getting targeted traffic to your website or blog is much harder.

Viral Marketing is a very effective way to generate lots of traffic to your website. You can compare the very concept of Viral Marketing to that of someone having a cold.

As one person spread germs by coughing or sneezing while in the presence of others, more and more germs are spread until practically every person in that same area end up with a cold.

That’s the nature of viral marketing. Once you create a viral eBook to start a viral marketing campaign, include your affiliate links, links to your sales page or website and give it to a few people who in turn gives it to two or three other people, the viral effect begins.

As more people get access to your viral eBook and pass it along (which is what you encourage them to do), eventually, for more detail visit www.create-own-ebook.com your eBook takes on an exponential effect and is spreading all over the internet among thousands of people.

EBooks are easy to duplicate and the marketing eBook has taken on a life of its own and has become a very important part if internet marketing. Unlike a regular eBook the marketing eBook contains a lot more. It contains navigation controls, text, links to other web pages, images, navigation controls and more.

Your viral eBook can be your best salesman because you can present your story in a much different and effective way. It’s better to write your own eBook and there are several ways that you can create it. You can create an eBook using articles or Private Label Rights Material or you could hire a ghostwriter to write an eBook for you.

Always make sure that your eBook is very informative and interesting. It is also wise to include inside of your eBook, links back to your sales page or website. You have to make sure that you let your reader’s know that it’s OK for them to pass your eBook around the internet and that they have your permission to do so.

You should provide a section in your eBook that explains the things that they can or can’t do with your eBook. For instance, you can grant them certain rights such as the right to freely give away your eBook to other people, bundle it with other products, use it as a bonus, use it as content, etc.

As you will be including links back to your website, be sure to test every link to make sure it is working properly and check the spelling and grammar before you release your eBook to the public. Obvious grammatical and spelling errors will reflect badly on you and could be very damaging. One way to check for errors is to use the spell checker on your computer. You will still have to proofread you eBook because the spell checker doesn’t always catch everything.

Another way to market your eBook is to use eBook directories. Some eBook directories are free. If allowed, post your eBook to those eBook directories. Though some eBook directories are not free, for more detail visit www.eazy-ebook-money.com some will still allow you to post a link to your eBook on their website. Marketing your eBook this way will create a viral marketing effect for your eBook for years

In traditional marketing, it takes a lot of time and effort before you can place your ads in magazines, newspapers, even on television. Making changes is not that easy as well. However, your internet marketing efforts can be easily monitored and tracked down. You can easily make decisions to change a design, image, graphic or wording without any undue problem.

It only takes a few clicks of the mouse and you instantaneously capture a sale and your client’s information that you can utilize for another prosperous business transaction in the future.

The World Wide Web has enhanced to such an extent that it has replaced the old methods of sending letters with emails and online chats. The World Wide Web has made many things easier and simpler to communicate with people all over the world.Internet has also allowed people to market their products from one corner of the globe to other part of the globe. The internet being a widely used medium is the perfect way to promote a product. The foremost step to promote your product would be to create a site or blog with details about your blog. Once the site is created make sure you optimize it so that it is indexed by the search engines. If your site is indexed on the search engines then it can bring more traffic to your site. When you post information on the site, make sure you put all the information regarding the company and product. Information like payment modes, shipping details and contact details are also very important. It is also better to add a line or two about your product or service. To wrap things up, your site should be powerful enough to be able to convince the customer to buy the product.

The first thing after developing the site is to publish and then pull traffic towards the site by marketing online. One of the methods to drive traffic can be is to advertise your website on other sites and inform about the products. There are numerous ways to advertise your website. Most of these techniques are pretty easy and do not take much time. Two ways to promote site are:

Email Marketing -Email marketing is an important part of internet marketing. One has to make a list of related clients and customers and try collecting their email addresses.You must make sure that you include few freebees or incentives in the mail before sending it to the list, by doing this you can gain the client or customers attention.

Link Building – One of the Key topic of internet marketing is link building. One way links and reciprocal links are the two ways of link building. One way links also known as inbound links are the links which points to your webpage from a different webpage hosted by someone else. During reciprocal link exchange webmasters mutually agree to exchange links with each other, it is a kind of give and take policy.Before exchanging links one must check the relevancy of the website. One must concentrate on building quality links than quantity of the links.

Optmization techniques can be divided in to two types i.e. white hat techniques and black hat techniques; one must make sure to use white hat technique for better ranking for the site

Fallacies in the world consist of owning a website: a natual quick way to make hordes of money. We hear about various people on the news who do this. But guess what? They are the exceptions. If that were true, then all business owners in the world would be another Howard Hughes, Warren Buffett or even Donald Trump.

Instead, reality on the internet is the same as the real business world and maybe the percentages are even worse now. With our country’s current financial problems affecting all of us, we might expect approximately only about 3% or less to become successful and actually earn or make money.

Good News. You can earn money and have a successful website fairly quickly with the right help, information and aid. You only need an enduring intense earnest desire to do so.

Building your website is similar to building a home. First you need your foundation or basement. You need this so other websites, search engines and visitors can find you. This encompasses your basic decisions you make for your site.

Since you have chosen to have a directory, you need a place to put your website. This means you need a server to host your site. Server pricing is variable and competitive. Research hosting companies and then choose one that is easy to pay for, has all the requirements you need for your website, provides good customer service and has a good track record of their servers not being shut down. Older servers are down more than newer ones just like your computer.

Next you should decide on a name. Always purchase a URL or name for at least 5 years as google gives more credence to websites which plan to stick around versus the here-today, gone tomorrow website.

If you have already purchased a name, you can still implement the following system. It is always a bit better if you can use the following as your main website URL but you can still do this if you have already done something different. At the very beginning, always target your plans and goals around obtaining visitors and traffic to your site. This is one area where you can leverage this so try to take advantage of it.

You need the right keyword or keyword phrase. Note: a common description of a keyword phrase is ‘long tailed keyword’. If you wonder what the importance of this is, just go to the google search and enter in a phrase or word for your planned site. (Not the name you have chosen.) The websites that come up are sites which are optimized and marketed for that specific keyword.

So how do you find your keyword or phrase? There are two methods. Wordtracker is a site which has a free trial and can be used but however, google now has it’s own generator for keywords and letting you see the traffic for each. Just go to: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal Enter in the most basic keyword for your planned website into the search and google will also give you suggestions for more keywords as well as the current traffic and projected future traffic for each.

Before choosing keywords for your site, you need to decide what type of directory you want to own. If you take a look at directories on the internet, you will find the more ‘general’ in nature, the more competition there is by webmasters to be top on google and that should also be a concern as you should want an easy website to own and become top in your category. As a directory owner, you will, in time, want to write articles for your directory, possibly post new developments in the industry, post news that have developed and become known as an expert in your field.

A good way to do this, is first of all take a self inventory. Do you have any knowledge already about a specific topic? It could be horse racing, shoes, ‘As seen on TV Products’, Trivia games and questions, hand crafted jewelry, automobile repair or just anything that has always interested you and you already automatically read or absorb information about the topic. It is much easier to work with a targeted topic that interests you. Let us use a specific example here that most people can relate to. For the sake of giving you help, let us choose ‘Consumer Electronics’. This topic is general enough that it covers a large enough area to allow you to be creative since many household goods, i.e., refrigerators, microwaves, etc. fall under this as well as televisions, DVD players, radios, etc.

Using our main targeted keyword of Consumer Electronics, we then start our keyword research to either define our website name or just pick our first keyword we want to use for our site. When viewing todays list of keyword suggestions from google for this category, we find the following:

In looking at the above list, you will find that ‘home consumer electronics’ appears to be a sleeper in that the current June search is 9,900 but the expected global is 550,000 per month. You might find that the .com is not available but in this case, even owing the .net should be beneficial. The other keywords are also fairly good too. You will find many keywords are not available due to desiring a .com. When you research, you may end up re-defining your exact plans for your <b><a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.worlddirectorywhitepages.com”>directory</a></b> so that you can meet the ability to grab traffic right away and making things easier for yourself. Keep in mind, you can choose this as a website name or simply use it within your keyword optimization for your site. It is always best to own your keywords if possible as, in the long run, there are more benefits to this beyond what is expressed herein. To obtain other good keywords, take your chosen keyword that you have purchased and enter that into google’s keyword tool search and google will give you more suggested keywords with the traffic for each one. It is generally a good practice, if that is all that is available, to accept a .net for your website URL but only .coms for extra keywords you own related to your site.

You want to purchase the keyword just like you purchase any name. It will not matter too much whether it is a .com or a .net although .com is always best. Your keyword or keyword phrase should have a natural traffic ranking of 1500 per month or better. Try to make it the exact keyword you want. You can always work from Google’s suggested list. I was shocked to find a perfect keyword the other day using this system that had over 40,000 a month in traffic and it only cost me .00 to purchase it. So, work at this.

Once you purchase the keyword or keyword phrase, it is time to create your title, description and keywords for your site.

It is good to know what other top sites are using for theirs. Do not copy them. Enter the keyword in google search and go to the top sites. Right click on the top left hand of their site and then click on the “View Source”. You want to view the meta tags on this page. They are located between the two following tags: <head>. . . . </head>. You can print the necessary information and use them as work sheets for brainstorming for your own site as that can help. I recomment copying the necessary information you need to your wordpad on your computer so you do not end up printing the whole website.

If you find that you have located more than one good keyword, you can use more than one in this system. Your only big limitation will be trying to make them fit in your title. You might be able to squeeze in 3 if they are short words and/or phrases.

When creating this information for your own site, all words used here are counted as search words for your site by search engine spiders so try to eliminate the words “the, it, and, etc.” as much as possible. Your main keyword or phrase that you purchased should always be the first word in each of your title, description and keywords. Since this is the basic foundation of your site, take extra time to do this.

There are character number recommendations for some search engine spiders. The title should be no more than 60 characters, including spaces, description should be no more than 150 characters and no less than 120 characters and keywords should be a maximum of 874 characters. It is easy to get carried away with having too many keywords so try to refine this list to words that definitely directly relate to your site.

A search engine has a spider which visits your site periodically to rank your site in comparison with all sites on the internet and other sites that compete with you. They mainly find your website through links on other sites.

One of the main reasons you want visitors to your site as soon as possible is to try to obtain a rating of ranking from Google even if it is 0. Sites not rated by Google also give the appearance to other website owners of a possible Google banned site even though you know it is only because you have a new website. There are many ways to receive your rating quickly. If left alone and nothing done to change this, it could take as long as 6 months to 1 year for Google to give you that status. Note: to not even have a ranking by a search engine is nicknamed being in ‘the sandbox’.

This seems like tedious un-necessary work but, in the long run, you will be glad you have done these things when you experience visitors right away to your website.

You are now ready to finish setting up your <b><a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.worlddirectorywhitepages.com”>directory</a></b> for your business.

Get Your Online Business Off to a Good Start With Affiliate Program

I hope this information helps you get your online business off to a good start. Online business is all about buying, selling and advertising your goods and services online. If you have recently started an online business, you are no doubt facing the difficult task of trying to promote your website without sufficient capital to do much advertising. You need to spend a lot of money on advertising to launch an internet business so that you can make some money, but at the same time you need to make some money so that you actually have some dollars to spend on advertising.

To get the highest sales for your business, you have to convert the generated traffic. If you want to increase traffic to your website many things have to be considered. The strategies that are associated with internet marketing have to be powerful, good and effective. Selection of the right tools is the key to achieve success in an online business. If by chance you end up selecting the wrong tools, you have to face the consequences that might cost you a lot.

So, what should you do? The solution to all your marketing problems might be an affiliate program. The reason why this is such an excellent marketing strategy is because an affiliate program costs you nothing. Not only does having an affiliate program give you an opportunity to make a tremendous amount of sales without spending money on advertising, but it also increases the number of inbound links to your website.

With an affiliate program, anyone who has a website can post an advertisement for your business on their website in the form of a banner or a text link. You do not have to pay to place your affiliate banner or text link on other websites because you are offering those other website owners a commission on every referral they make, but only if that referral produces a sale.

The affiliates you recruit into your program are almost like your employees, they are doing your advertising work for you, and it does not cost you anything unless they make a sale. All those websites will be representing you, sort of like a commissioned salesperson.

If you have ever wondered how people can claim to make money from their website, without actually having anything in it to sell, the answer is that they will have an affiliate marketing based website. This means that in their website they have links out to other company websites that are selling a particular product, and every time someone uses that link to the other company and buys something from them, they get a commission on the sale.

The more links to your site, the higher your search engine ranking will be. So, a surge in your link popularity and an additional increase in sales resulting from an improved search engine ranking is a fabulous byproduct of having a popular affiliate program. Sometimes companies even pay a commission just for having someone link to their website from an internet affiliates website. Remember the more visitors they attract to their website, the greater the chances of using their links to buy something, giving them plenty of commission on that sales.

Now, you need to learn how to create an affiliate program and how to promote it. To create an affiliate program, you may need to hire a web designer or programmer who has experience creating these sorts of programs, because the job requires a lot of backend programming work, database creation, and payment tracking so that the referrals and sales that each affiliate produces can be tracked with a special code that is signed to each individual affiliate.

The internet is very dynamic and if you want to succeed then, you have to update yourself with all the tools and software. Just make sure you hire a competent web designer to do the programming work, because if there are any difficulties with tracking sales to your individual affiliates, you will have a huge mess on your hands.

To promote your program, you will need to post ads for it on as many online affiliate directories as you can find. Some of these directories will charge you a small annual fee to be listed, others will allow you to list your program for free. There are literally hundreds or even thousands of different online directories where you can add your listing. The more listings you can create, the more affiliates you can potentially acquire.

To get money for advertising, you could take on a business partner who is willing to fund the company to get your marketing campaign going, or perhaps you could turn to venture capital to get started. However, unless you already have a lot of solid business contacts, raising money for an internet startup can be almost impossible.

Competition to be an affiliate to high finance companies is very strong, so to start you would be better targeting a market that you can be a big fish in a small pond, rather than vice-versa. Build up your reputation in that and then later you can tell the finance companies how successful you have already been.

“WASHINGTON — The U.S. economy got its best jobs report in three years Friday as employers added 162,000 nonfarm jobs in March.”  One newswire stated on the Jobs and Employment News updates.

Encouraging as the Labor Department might seem to sound, and it might, it wasn’t strong enough to bring down the unemployment rate.  Additionally, the jobless figure remained stuck at 9.7 percent for the third month in a row and during a rather painful 2nd quarter for small to medium businesses among other things amid a surge of people returning to the labor market.

As the overall economy struggles to recover from the worst economic crisis in more than 50 years.  And with the Health Care Act on the table and dividing the country, President Obama is still yet to perform on his pledge to America to turn things around.

Economists, mindful of continuing problems and uncertainty, were generally cautious in assessing the employment gain.

Some of the news quotes around the country are stating:

“Having lost 8.2 million jobs over a period of two years, it’s a drop in the bucket,” said Bart van Ark, chief economist at The Conference Board, a business-membership and research organization in New York. “It’s too early to say we have a sustainable recovery.”

Part of the concern stems from the fact it’s hard to pinpoint specific areas of the economy with the potential to send employment rocketing upward.

The housing industry, long a staple of economic growth, remains troubled, as does construction, architecture and small businesses.  Overall, everyone is hurting in a phase of economic stress where some sectors are depressed, others recessed and overall the economy cannot seem to make up it’s mind where to turn.  And to make matters worse, this is working its way through tax time, a ‘slow time of the year’ for a number of market sectors.

And, while manufacturing and exports have helped pull the economy out of its nosedive, as it appears in some sections of the country, they still face long-term problems of global competition and currency barriers.  And the overall effects of this ‘turn around’ remains to be see across the board in the U.S. Economy thus far.

One news source has stated:

“Analysts reckon the economy needs to create 125,000 or so new net jobs a month just to keep pace with the population growth, but depending on how fast people pour into the labor market, many more jobs than that will be needed to cut into the unemployment rate.

Still, van Ark said, March was “the first month of really solid growth” in a long time. ‘We can be a little bit more optimistic.’”

Adding to the evidence of a slowly stabilizing economy, government statisticians also revised jobs data for the previous two months, turning January’s 26,000 jobs lost into a gain of 14,000 jobs that month, and February’s 36,000 job losses were revised to only 14,000.  Which seems a bit more hopeful.

President Obama treated Friday’s government jobs report as good, if not great, news while speaking to factory workers in North Carolina.  Which all seems a bit hopeful, word on the street counters otherwise in some States of the Union.

“I’ve often had to report bad news during the course of this year … But today is an encouraging day,” he said. “This month, more Americans woke up, got dressed and headed to work in an office, a factory, a storefront. More folks are feeling the sense of pride and satisfaction that comes with a hard-earned and deserved paycheck.”  As per one news source.

Obama spoke to employees of Celgard at a meeting recently.  They are a Charlotte manufacturer of lithium ion batteries used in the hybrid vehicles that help form the basis of the president’s clean-energy plans. The plant had received stimulus money and is hiring 300 more workers shortly.  Which is a good sign of positive government intervention, however some sectors of the auto industry supply chain that were up for some time are now starting to feel the crunch.

“Next time somebody asks you at the grocery store, ‘What did the Recovery Act do?’ you can tell them one of the things it helped do is expand … an entire industry,” Obama said.

Nigel Gault, chief U.S. economist for forecaster IHS Global Insight, said the economy had crossed an important barrier, though challenges remained.  The story continued.

“Until this month, the most that we could say was that it looked like job growth was about to turn the corner. Now it seems to have done so. But it will be a long slog to bring down the unemployment rate,” he said in a research note.

Nationally, the census will be a steady job creator for several months. The Commerce Department expects to hire at least 600,000 temporary workers this year to staff the decennial survey.  However this is only a temporary job, government based and has no major effect on the economy that touches home in the U.S.

Another indicator of future hiring, the temporary-help sector, added 40,000 workers last month, boosting its increase since September to 313,000.  As is the news regarding employers hiring more contractors.  Full time employment still stagnates.

Financial services and the information industry lost jobs in March, which is no small wonder at all, but health-care, education, retail and the leisure-industry employers all added to their payrolls.  With the addition of retail and leisure, we can see some light in the tunnel of the dim economy news that has been plaguing the newswires to date.

Additionally, even the hard-hit construction sector ended its long string of severe job losses last month, adding 15,000 jobs.  Showing reasonable signs of positive adjustment, however, this does not come as news to myself, after having done a lot of research and working on setting up the online resources for such trend adjustments in the Job and Employment market.  Further, we just don’t know how long standing or stable this adjustment will be.

Stay tuned.  The economy is working, things are changing, it is quite important to stay in touch with the news, blogs, websites and online feedback about the economy and job market.  This way you’ll have a better idea of where you fit in and what you can do about your personal career situation.
