Many businesses go through all kinds of steps before hiring a search engine optimization professional. Unfortunately, they often then sabotage that person from the outset.
Get The Most Out Of Your SEO Professional
As a person providing seo services, I can tell you there is one area that is almost always a point of conflict with clients. This area has to do with communication, particularly from the client to the person or business handling the seo campaign.
Many businesses sabotage their seo professional right from the start of the game. It all has to do with knowledge. A seo professional is very knowledgeable about the search engine ranking process. He or she can tell you oodles of information about algorithms, back links, inbound links, keyword density and other issues you probably are not particularly interested in. On the other hand, it is a mistake to assume your seo wizard is knowledgeable about your product or service area.
Any business has a secret bit of crucial knowledge locked away in the minds of a few individuals high up in the company. This knowledge is protected with great effort since it is deemed to be the key to success for the business. Although each business is different, this nugget usually has to do with why prospects purchase the product or service being offered by the business. If you do not provide this information to your seo professional, problems will arise.
Consider the following situation. A seo firm is retained by a client selling products. The seo rep asks all kinds of questions about the typical customer for the business, product lines and so on. From this, a keyword list is developed and the client is asked to review it and make any comments about any additions they can think of. The business reports no changes. A year down the line, the client has top rankings on dozens of high traffic keywords on Google, Yahoo and MSN, but sales are less than expected.
At this point, there is usually a serious meeting with the players to try to figure out what is going on. During the meeting, some little tidbit is mentioned that makes the seo professional groan. The tidbit is inevitably internal business information regarding why prospects purchase from the business.
In our example above, the business sold products in the active lifestyle industry. Top rankings were obtained on all the relevant subjects. Sales were crap. During the serious, serious meeting, it was leaked that 8 out of 10 purchasers asked for the product to be gift wrapped! ARRRRRGGGG! The seo campaign was tailored to people interested in active lifestyles, not people that were looking to buy gifts for such people. Our sales were terrible because the listings were appearing in front of the wrong audience!
Yes, this really happened. Fortunately, keyword modifications were made and the site rebounded in the rankings after a few months. Whereas the site previously converted at 1 in 1,000, it now converts at 1 in 30. The next meeting was much more informal. In fact, there were plenty of beverages and I took the next day off.
If you are going to retain someone to handle your seo efforts, or any marketing for you, do not hold back information. Understanding who and why people buy is a pivotal part of developing a keyword list for a seo campaign.

Deep linking has been a bit of a controversial subject over the past few years.
Most recreational webmasters completely ignore them, while others swear by them. Some Major League websites have gone as far as to create lawsuits against affiliates deep linking in an attempt to limit direct access to inner pages of their sites, like sales and order pages, claiming it undermines their sales process and bypasses advertisers.
Despite the controversy, for those in the know, deep links have become an essential part of their Link building Services and SEO strategy and the benefits are indisputable.
For those who don’t know what a deep link is, it is simply a link from a page on one website that links directly to an inner page of another website. Unlike what is commonly referred to as a backlink that simply links to the homepage, deep links typically point to a specific piece of information or relevant topic.
I’m a huge fan of Deep Links, while getting links to your homepage certainly has it’s place in SEO, it doesn’t even come close to the results you get from a deep link.
A recent report from Nielsen stated that in the year 2004, about 40% of people traveled to a website via the homepage and then drilled down to what they were looking for and only 60% arrived via a deep link.
In 2008, only 25% of all visitors arrived at websites via the homepage, the rest perform specific keyword searches and expect to go directly to the information they are looking for.
We live in an age where people have a serious attention deficit, and on top of that we expect instant gratification. Especially when it comes to technology like the Internet.
Google and other Search Engines know this, not only do they know it, but they are partially responsible for it. By creating smarter Search Engine algorithms and producing more relevant search results, users have become more accustomed to finding what they are looking for instantly.
It leads to reason that you should make it as easy as possible for the Search Engines to find and rank your inner pages.
Having an optimized internal linking structure for your site is important as well and it helps the Search Engine robots drill down through your site and create a list of pages for inclusion in their databases, but it does not guarantee that those pages will ever rank well in search results.
The reason for this is obvious, well maybe not obvious to us, but it is obvious for the search engines. You see, internal links are created by the webmaster and are very biased in nature, in other words, the SE’s cannot trust them.
Blame the thousands of unscrupulous webmasters that have tried to take advantage of the SE’s using sneaky black hat methods.
On the other hand, a one way deep link coming from another website pointing to an inner page on your site is like a direct, unbiased recommendation for the content on that page.
The search engine robots will follow these links and again using very smart algorithms and technology will extract data and determine the value of the page, links and thus inclusion in future search results.

There are other benefits to deep linking as well; some of these are fringe benefits that come as a result of having more traffic direct to inner pages on your site.
For example, advertising.
You can now sell advertising on these inner pages for a higher price once you prove the amount of traffic they are getting. This type of advertising is easier to sell as well, since the traffic is much more targeted and will convert to sales at a much higher rate.
You can easily prove your traffic by using free tools such as Google Analytics to get detailed traffic statistics.

How do you go about creating effective reciprocal link exchange strategies that your surfers may not feel offended by them or search engines may not degrade your website? This is the way forward…
1. How to Outbound
You should acquire two to five ultra high quality outbound links that will enhance the experience of your surfers. Many outbound links in your site will hurt your surfers. They will distract them and eventually they will conclude, “So this site is all about link farms.” What a bad comment to hear from your surfers about your website!
You are in control of outbound links. It is you who decides which websites to out link to. Search engines will penalize you for linking your website to poor quality irrelevant content websites. Out link to websites that are non competitive to your site concept so that you don’t end up losing your surfers.
If you find a website that offers superb content, approach the owner through an e-mail or phone. Explain to her that you really need to link her website with yours.
When you are including outbound links on your website, always open a new window. Why? The reason is that your website will remain underneath and surfers will still be in your website. In your textual outbound link, indicate the words that “New window opens.”
2. How to Inbound
Many inbound links will greatly improve your website especially if they are from reputable websites. They will generate more surfers and this will see your online business growing daily.
Always remember to ask your reciprocal link exchange partners to include your important keywords on their actual linking text in their websites. This will tell surfers that there is relevancy and it is worthy clicking the link.
Also your website will be easily found by search engines when surfers are searching using that keyword. It is smart not to reciprocate links. But if your link partner is not comfortable linking your website without reciprocating, then you can link exchange.
If you receive requests from poor content websites to reciprocate links with, just refuse politely. There are quite a number of software programs to help you get reciprocal link exchange. They will save you energy and time of doing the tedious manual job.

The list of tools that one can put to use is wide and varied, as well as constantly changing.
I want to break the software tools dedicated to SEO in to categories. Starting off, we have two categories:
1)Â Â Software Programs for internal use â meaning you buy these programs and run them on a computer or server.
2)Â Â Web sites or subscription based tools.
Now we have the two major categories, lets look a bit at the sub categories. I am not going to cover them all, as this document is considered more of a SEO primer, to get you familiar with the overall picture. In future articles, blogs, and websites I’ll go into the tools in more depth.
Here they are:
1)Â Â Search Engine Submission.
2)Â Â SEO â Analysis Tools for Link Building
3)Â Â SEO for Web Page Optimization.
4)Â Â Article Marketing and Submission
5)Â Â Auto posting to Ad and Classified Sites
6)Â Â Keyword Analysis
7)Â Â Pay Per Click Campaign Management
There are a few more out there, but they are simply variations of the above types of SEO automation.
First off, Search Engine Submission. There are a number of ways to get your site listed in Google for starters. You can use their URL Submission pages â though they clearly state that it could take weeks for your site to be listed. Go ahead and use them. The fire up a SEO Search Engine Submission tool and automatically submit you site to hundreds more sites, plus have a schedule set to ârefresh the submission’ every month or two. In addition, you can update the software engine data on the software you purchased (usually for a year with most major, reputable companies, then you have to buy a subscription).
Further, some of the SEO software tools that have directory submission options, also have SEO analysis tools, depending on the package you purchase, which will help you analyze your sites content and perform a number of tasks.
The SEO tasks are obviously: Web Page Optimization for keywords and various SEO technicalities such as keyword density, quality of design, header meta-tags, layout of content and much more.
Some of the more critical SEO tools are the ability to determine what keywords used in the search engines that the competition sites are being found under, as well as finding quality back-link partners to help you build your sites Page Rank (a Google designation for Web Site Importance).
Moving forward, some software allows a really great way to build web popularity as well as some back linking possibilities â Auto Posting and Article Marketing software.
First off â Get familiar with creating advertisements and writing good copy to properly represent your site to your readers and potential viewers. Period.
Second, test some manual ads. Then you’ll see why the value of auto posting and the various article marketing software are great tools to help you build a quality presence on the web.
The Pay Per Click campaigns are quite the chore to setup. There are a number of companies that created software to help accomplish this task as well as monitor the results, track the competition, and help you bid on the keywords as well as manage your budget, fine tuning all the way.

Now the one important aspect of making money online is having a powerful list and the way how you get that is through a good landing page or squeeze page. Yes as you guess landing pages are designed specifically to get your visitors details and make them a subscriber and then a buyer, its simple!
So here we shall discuss how to get traffic to your landing pages so you can build your list and get people to join you and make lots and lots of money….easier said than done right?
You need to get “your targeted” leads to your landing page and not un targeted people, by this I mean people that are looking for what you have to offer and not potions and lotions.
One of the slowest processes to getting good traffic to your site is using basic SEO-Search Engine Optimization; Generating natural search engine traffic generally entails getting links to your site. While reciprocal linking was once the best strategy, experts now believes that major search engines are devaluing reciprocal links in favor of one-way links and triangular links (which search engines can’t really detect).
Optimizing your keywords for certain pages can also naturally boost your hits to your site. This is done by creating pages that specifically focus on one keyword on your given niche. You can also set the page extension to that keyword and optimize the content at a 1.5% density for that keyword. Once you have done all that you will need to put that info into your title and head tags of your site.
PPC advertising is a great way to send targeted leads directly to you site! Google Adwords is the most common places but yahoo advertising, Face book and other social networking sites now offer these features and they might also be cheaper than Google! Getting a good keyword tool indicator will be crucial in getting the most out of your campaign.
Joint Ventures are a fantastic way to drive tons of traffic to your site! You can enter into a joint venture by compiling a list of possible “partners” — or people who might be able to assist you in some mutually-beneficial way. This list might include other list owners in your niche, site owners in your niche, and experts.
One thing you want to keep in mind when contact possible joint venture partners is to make it as quick, easy, and beneficial for them as possible. If there is no incentive for them they probably won’t be interested and if it’s not easy then they won’t do it either and probably end up going with someone else.
Using on line forums and blogs is another great traffic source but word of advice…DO NOT SPAM!! Everyone hates spammers and it will surely turn around and kick you right up the back side! Instead, actually participate on the forum, provide people with something of value; and, after a while, post your product in your signature – and try to network with people on the forum who work in similar fields.
Your approach to blog posting should be similar. Include a signature file that links back to your landing page, but don’t spam. Instead, post useful comments. This is not only more ethical, but it is plainly more effective. Spam gets deleted. Good comments get praised, inducing people to follow your link and check out your products.
Networking through social networking sites is another way to get targeted traffic, Facebook, Digg, Technorati, LinkedIn, Reddit there are tons of them out there that will drive massive traffic to your site and the best part about it is, that’s all free!!!
