Basic Types and Requirements for Web Designing: Given by Pseudo Technology

Web site design crosses multiple disciplines of information systems, information technology and communication design. The web site is an information system whose components are sometimes classified as front-end and back-end. The observable content (e.g. page layout, user interface, graphics, text and audio) is known as the front-end. The back-end comprises the organization and efficiency of the source code, invisible scripted functions, and the server-side components that process the output from the front-end. Depending on the size of a Web development project, it may be carried out by a multi-skilled individual (sometimes called a web master), or a project manager may oversee collaborative design between group members with specialized skills.
Multidisciplinary requirements:
Issues: As in collaborative designs, there are conflicts between differing goals and methods of web site designs. These are a few of the ongoing ones.
1. Lack of collaboration in designIn the early stages of the web, there wasn’t as much collaboration between web designing and larger advertising campaigns, customer transactions, social networking, intranets and extranets as there is now. Web pages were mainly static online brochures disconnected from the larger projects. Many web pages are still disconnected from larger projects. Special design considerations are necessary for use within these larger projects. These design considerations are often overlooked, especially in cases where there is a lack of leadership, lack of understanding of why and technical knowledge of how to integrate, or lack of concern for the larger project in order to facilitate collaboration. This often results in unhealthy competition or compromise between departments, and less than optimal use of web pages.
2. Liquid versus fixed layoutsOn the web the designer has no control over several factors, including the size of the browser window, the web browser used, the input devices used (mouse, touch screen, voice command, text, cell phone number pad, etc.) and the size and characteristics of available fonts. Some designers choose to control the appearance of the elements on the screen by using specific width designations. This control may be achieved through the use of a HTML table-based design or a more semantic div-based design through the use of CSS. Whenever the text, images, and layout of a design do not change as the browser changes, this is referred to as a fixed width design. Proponents of fixed width design prefer precise control over the layout of a site and the precision placement of objects on the page. Other designers choose a liquid design. A liquid design is one where the web designing moves to flow content into the whole screen, or a portion of the screen, no matter what the size of the browser window. Proponents of liquid design prefe greater compatibility and using the screen space available. Liquid design can be achieved through the use of CSS, by avoiding styling the page altogether, or by using HTML tables (or more semantic divs) set to a percentage of the page. Both liquid and fixed design developers must make decisions about how the design should degrade on higher and lower screen resolutions. Sometimes the pragmatic choice is made to flow the web designing between a minimum and a maximum width. This allows the designer to avoid coding for the browser choices making up The Long Tail, while still using all available screen space. Depending on the purpose of the content, a web designer may decide to use either fixed or liquid layouts on a case-by-case basis. Similar to liquid layout is the optional fit to window feature with Adobe Flash content. This is a fixed layout that optimally scales the content of the page without changing the arrangement or text wrapping when the browser is resized.
3. Flash.Adobe Flash (formerly Macromedia Flash) is a proprietary, robust graphics animation or application development program used to create and deliver dynamic content, media (such as sound and video), and interactive applications over the web via the browser. Adobe Flash is today widely used in Web Designing. Flash is not a standard produced by a vendor-neutral standards organization like most of the core protocols and formats on the Internet. Flash is much more restrictive than the open HTML format, though, requiring a proprietary plug-in to be seen, and it does not integrate with most web browser UI features like the “Back” button.According to a study, [1] 98% of US Web users have the Flash Player installed. [2] Numbers vary depending on the detection scheme and research demographics. [3] Many graphic artists use Flash because it gives them exact control over every part of the design, and anything can be animated and generally “jazzed up”. Some application designers enjoy Flash because it lets them create applications that do not have to be refreshed or go to a new web page every time an action occurs.

self-taught, although I applaud them for doing it, have relied on

The web design company you choose for your project should have
relevant experience. If you would like them to design a
e-commerce website, it is best to choose a web designer who
has e-commerce websites in their portfolio. Your web design
company should be ready to submit a proposal for your website
project along with a contract. Beware of companies who don’t
give you a formal contract. The contract should outline exactly
what the web designer will do and how long it will take, the
price, and what you have agreed to supply. A formal contract
is the best way to avoid disagreements between the web
designer and you. Make sure your contract outlines every
possible problem that can happen.
Different types of websites
there are different types of websites such as: static HTML
(brochure type), e-commerce (with a shopping cart), database,
Flash and a website with your own content management system.
All of these must come into perspective when you are looking for
a web design company. For example if you are looking for a fully
interactive Flash website you better make sure that the web
design company you choose has done many Flash websites.
There is a difference between companies who can do Flash
headers for a standard HTML site and web designers who can
create a full flash website. Your best bet when choosing a web
design company is to have a face to face meeting when
discussing what it is you would like to have your website look
like , also some sketches and some addresses of websites that
you like. This gives the web Design Company the chance to fully
understand what you are looking for and a better chance to give
you an accurate proposal.
Things to take into consideration
Does the web design company have an update package? You
must know that after your website has been created, from time
to time you will require updates. Maybe they will be small maybe
not. If the web designs company you are choosing does not have
an update package, you should inquire about the price of
updates fitter the initial design. You should take the price of
updates into consideration before you begin the design
process. Make sure the web design company or web designer
you choose sets realistic goals for the timeline. Usually if it
sounds too good to be true then it is.
Many web designers have their own personal style. For example
my personal style is clean and bright colors. Some web design
companies love Flash and always build Flash websites. This
would not be ideal if you are looking for an extremely search
engine friendly website.
You would also have to consider guarantees. Does your potential
web design company offer a guarantee? Most web design
companies do not. So when you find one who does, you can
know that they feel very confident in their capabilities. Another
thing to consider is: Does the web design company display a
phone number that they can be contacted at. Sometimes as a
client you would like to speak with someone, not just get a reply
to an e-mail the next day.
How to a find a web design company
there are a few ways to find web design companies in your area.
One way is to search the web for: “Vancouver web design” or
“Sarasota Web design”, obviously depending on the city closest
to you. You could also search the Yellow pages for web design
companies. Most web design companies who can afford to
advertise there have already built a pretty go reputation and
have been in business for a while. Another option is search
the web and when you see a website you really like, checks
for a link on the bottom of the page or on a contact page.

There are three types of links that you can utilize for better Search Engine Optimization. There are inbound links or backlinks, links coming into your website; outbound links, which are leading to other websites from your website; and internal links, which are links that move you around the actual website. It’s important that you know how to use these links to your benefit, and especially how much. Anchor text is basically text that has a hidden URL that takes you to another website or webpage. It’s important that you have descriptive anchor text, and even better if it has a keyword relevant to both the link and the rest of the text in the document. In regards to internal links, it’s good to have good keyword usage, however, it’s not as important as outbound links. Another point to make about anchor text is to have the text surrounding it, before and after, to have natural flow and be relevant to the actual anchor text. It is to your benefit to do this as it gives reverence to the actual link, text, and keywords used.
Inbounds links, or backlinks, are very important to your website, and their age is even more important. Both the age of the link itself as well as the age of the inbound website is of high importance. Too many inbound links in a short time will look like link spamming or link buying. The origin of your backlinks is also very important, the better the links, the better the ranking. It’s good to have inbound links from reputable websites with good Google PR. However, sometimes link farms and other suspicious websites link to your, in this case you really have no power over who links to you, as long as the links aren’t reciprocal. It will not harm your ranking, however, try and avoid these types of websites as association with them is never good.
A great way to get a higher ranking is if you have links from directories. However, here there are also many that you must avoid, such as PR0 directories. You should link directories like Yahoo and DMOZ. It helps boost your ranking and of course more searchers will see your website. Another good way to boost ranking is by linking to sites similar to your own. This is very important for both inbound and outbound links. For inbound links it means that you have a good relationship with your competition and they are voting for you. The best types of links to have are from .edu and .gov websites. Of all the different types of links these are most reputable, however, they are also the hardest to get.
The number of inbound links to your website is important to your ranking only if the inbound links are reputable and similar to your own. Quality over quantity. It’s also very good if the page that links to you has less links, and best if your link is the only one, this is because it makes your website look more important. Though it’s good to have many inbound links, it’s not very good to have many outbound links. Make sure that you have no more than 100 per page or it may drop your ranking.
As mentioned above it’s not good to have excess number of outbound links. This is because if there are too many it’s considered excessive linking or link spamming. It’s not good for your ratings, even if the links are not bad neighbors and you don’t practice cross linking. The main reason that this is frowned upon is because it suggests link buying. Another very bad technique is outbound linking to link farms. Just the association with such websites will drop your ranking.
The practice of cross linking is also frowned upon. A simple example of cross linking is Link A à Link B à Link C à Link A. Another deceitful way to get higher ranking is by having single pixel links. Though this is invisible to the human eye, it’s meant to influence the search engines ratings of the website in a dishonest way. If a search engine discovers that any of these practices are being used in your website your ranking may be dropped or your website removed altogether.
So, keep in mind that it’s important to gather inbound and outbound links for your website, however, always consider their reverence to your website as well as how trusted they are. You don’t want to be associated with suspicious websites. Also, it’s important where and how you locate your links within your website in order to get the best Search Engine Optimization. It’s always best to hire a professional to optimize your website as they will use the experience they have as well as knowledge of search engines.
