How to Write for Web Visitors AND Search Engines

Edit Article |

Visualize your site achieving top search engine results.
Now imagine the wonder you would feel if your well-ranked website’s copy jumped off the screen, lodging itself in the mind of each site visitor, and unconsciously causing every one of them to take the action YOU want them to take.
Think it’s rocket science?
Think again.
In fact, you’re reading an example of this type of writing now. If you want to know how you can please the search engines AND your site visitors at the same time with your website copy writing, read on.
Writing for site visitors or writing for search engines is certainly not mutually exclusive.
If your Web page isn’t seen by potential site visitors in the first place by ranking poorly in the engines, it’ll never be read. But . . . if it’s only optimized for the engines and doesn’t read well, people will click away without taking action.
I want to achieve both and I bet you do too.
After reading this, you will understand how to write in a style that greatly pleases the search engines, resulting in vastly improved rankings AND at the same time, causes people to take the action you want. The action is usually to buy something or fill out a form.
How Your Copy Appears:
First let’s briefly consider the layout of your copy. Because if you want people to stay on your site, read your copy and take an action, the copy has to be very easy to read on a computer screen.
It’s simple really. Just use lots of white space. See how so far my ‘paragraphs’ are very, very short? Sometimes it’s just a few words. You ought to do the same. You can further break up your writing using sub-headings, bolded words, lists, bullets and boxes. See how I made the box above? Anything in a box will get read, and it’s a great way to create white space.
Avoid big blocks of text at all costs.
The key to successfully formatting your Web copy writing is to make  it as easy as possible for people to scan and skim through your text.
People skim online copy, so the more you break it up and make the important stuff stand out, the better.
Next, always remember who you are writing for. Hold a vision of your reader in your head as you write. Choose and combine your words in a way that speaks directly to each reader as if you’re just having a conversation with them alone. Write like you talk.
Here are my other top copy writing guidelines:
•    Use the word ‘You’. Don’t write about yourself or your organization. No one cares.
•    Use an active voice, not passive. Use action verbs often and well.
•    Appeal to people’s emotions.
•    Appeal to as many of the senses as possible. Paint a picture.
•    As your grammar school English teacher constantly preached, “Show, not tell.”
•    Use stories to illustrate your theme. People relate to and remember stories.
•    Describe how you can make your reader’s life easier or better.
•    Actually ask them to buy (or fill out the form) in your sales copy.
•    Always describe the benefits and not the features (features tend to bore people to tears).
•    Edit your work at the end to ensure it says what you want in the simplest and briefest way.
•    Buy ‘Hypnotic Writing’ by Joe Vitale. I used some of his ideas in this article. Great book, thanks Joe!
The search engine algorithms today, especially Google’s, are now getting so sophisticated that the line that separates good search engine copy and good people copy is becoming very blurred. In other words, the better you write in general, the better that writing will get ranked in the search engines anyway, all other things being equal.
Keep in mind that a large part of what makes a page rank well is made up of off-page factors, meaning the links and anchor text that point to your website have a big part in determining your site’s rank. But on-page factors such as your copy writing for example play an important role too.
So you’re writing to get ranked well, to convert visitors into customers or list members and to attract inbound links. As you write, keep these three important goals in mind.
On-Page Writing that Please Search Engines:
Think of each page of your website as its own one-page school essay. If you remember back to English class your teacher would ask you to write an essay and be sure to determine in advance what the theme, or thesis, of the essay was going to be. One theme per essay and that’s what the essay was “about”.
When it comes to Web pages, think in terms of themes too, but condensed down to a keyword phrase. Each page on your site should have one main keyword phrase that sums up the entire page. This is the phrase for which you want the page to rank well.
When you sit down to write copy for a particular page, first determine what its theme is going to be and then reduce that down to a descriptive and succinct keyword phrase.
For example, if you determine that the theme for the page is ‘all the chairs we sell in our furniture store are listed on this page with prices and descriptions’. The keyword phrase for this could be ‘wooden chairs with prices’.
Again, get inside the heads of the potential people you want visiting and buying from you and really try to determine what keyword phrases they would choose to type into a search engine to find the particular page you’re creating.
Before you even start writing website copy the first step is to determine the page’s main theme using a keyword phrase and then make a list of related words and phrases.
Grab some paper and a pen or open up Notepad and begin to create a list of these keyword phrases. Phrases that are two to five words in length are best.
Next, use an online keyword tool to find variations and add the good ones to your ever-growing list. The best tool in my opinion is Google’s Adwords Keyword Tool.
Now that Google’s Instant is live you can also simply begin typing a phrase into the search bar and a drop down box will appear suggesting ways to finish the phrase for you. Use some of these hints as well.
Now you ought to have an excellent list of a words and phrases that are related to your main keyword phrase.
The idea then is to weave the words and phrases on your list into your website copy.
Think of it this way. While you’re writing for your site visitor, while you’re using the rules I spelled out in the bullet list above, try to use the related words and phrases from your list. Furthermore, use synonyms, antonyms, stemming, plurals, and various tenses, contextual words, supporting vocabulary and modifiers as well.
Let’s look at an example. If the main keyword phrase of my page is ‘antique wooden chair prices’ then here’s a possible list I would come up with first:
Aged, historic, old-fashioned, traditional, old wood chairs, antique rocking chairs, wooden chairs, seats, old seating, antique oak furniture, antique pine furniture, refurbished chairs, dining room furniture, tables, wood, cherry, pricing, affordable, cost, for sale, on sale, how much do wooden chairs cost
Get the idea?
So here’s my try at using words and phrase from the list in my copy.
—————–
Looking for old wooden chairs or wondering how much antique wooden chairs cost online?
Below you will find pricing for historic yet affordable antique pine, oak and cherry chairs.
Imagine finding the perfect old-fashioned chair with which to compliment your house.
Take in the intricate carvings and woodwork as you approach it. Feel the polished oak wood arm rests in your hands as you lower yourself onto the magnificent aged seat. Then hear your house guests compliment you on such a glorious and rare find that you had the good taste to buy.
You will find that our furniture return policy guarantees that you’re taking no risk when purchasing antique wooden chairs from us.
And you’ll notice that every chair we list below has an associated price.
Click the ‘Buy Now’ button and after a couple more clicks, you’ll have one of our famous antique wooden chairs shipped directly to your home in no time.
—————–
Not only will this sales copy appeal to readers, it will please Google too.
With people in mind, I used the word ‘you’ a lot. I appealed to their senses and their emotions, explained how it would improve their life and outright told them to buy now. I showed how buying a chair could make their lives a little better and explained how easy it is to accomplish.
With search engines in mind I made sure that almost every word and phrase supports the theme of ‘antique wooden chair prices’. And I have used lots of synonyms (antique, aged, old fashioned, historic), stemming (price, pricing), modifiers (affordable, glorious, magnificent), and contextual and related words (chair, furniture, home, house, woodwork, carvings, arm rests).
It’s important that you write for both search engines and site visitors, and now you know how. By following the layout conventions mentioned above, the copy writing  guidelines and the ways to consider the search engines when writing that outlines, you’ll be well on your way to pleasing both your visitors and search engines.

How to Write Effective Landing Pages

Edit Article |

Selling products online often includes having to write landing pages that turns prospects into paying customers. While a lot of things can go into closing a sale, the ability of your page to successfully convince a prospect might be one of the most vital.

Writing a Landing Page

It isn’t much different from sales letters. In fact, you can say that a it is nothing but a high-tech version of the latter. Instead of the pitch printed on a sheet of paper or published in a magazine, you get it on a website, with all the dynamic elements of the web giving it even more flavor than usual.

As with any copywriting task, it will be in your best interest to read up on tried-and-tested resources, such as Joe Sugarman’s AdWeek Copywriting Handbook and other classic materials on direct selling in print (e.g. books by John Caples), for brushing up on effective copywriting techniques. You can also consult materials on landing page development, which should give you a better idea of how to incorporate modern technologies into your online sales letters.

Effective Landing Pages

What makes it effective? More than writing skill, which a competent letter writing software might be able to help you in, there are other factors that come into play:

Market. Check the market when composing your landing pages. See what other people are doing that works to gather inspiration for your own creations.
Feedback. You can’t simply launch a page without a second opinion. Try it on a few people first, especially ones who are likely to mirror the target audience, to get immediate feedback that can lead to major improvements.
Testing. Testing is the lifeblood of direct sales and it’s truer than ever with landing pages. With almost every factor going into the sale finally measurable, it’s silly not to setup a solid testing plan.

Now Pay Close Attention –

Using Video Testimonials to increase your websites sales and revenue is simpler than you’ve been told. Everyone with a website faces the same two problems:

How to Write a Killer Landing Page and Calls to Action in Text

How to Write a Killer Landing Page and Calls to Action in Text

In this article I will focus on some important tips you can use to write good landing pages that will convert your website’s visitors into customers or buyers and print profit to you business.

Treat you landing page like your own child!

Landing pages is the page where the visitor lands at from different sources: search engines, links from other websites, search engine ads and so on. As usual they call a landing page a special page that is perfectly polished and prepared to commit its marketing job, namely turn visitors into customers with a magic stick wave.  Well, actually any page of you website can be called ‘landing page’ but let us believe here that landing page is the page you lay all your fair hopes on.

90-60-90 of Your Landing Page

I strongly believe that you most important from the traffic and conversion point of view pages must be perfect in eve possible way. The must be attractive like Angelina Jolie, strong and quick like ninja and clever like encyclopedia. You landing page must be a perfect web creature.

Go take that grammar and vocabulary book

First of all you must proofread and edit that page to make it perfect from grammar, literary errors and polish you style. Make sure it looks like it was written by a single person but not like a crowd of people. The flaw of thought must be perfect as well. One idea must gradually move to the other and so on and so far. Never repeat yourself – people hate that. Use synonyms if needed or paraphrase the sentences but never say same twice. Find a professional proofreader or editor if you doubt whether you can do it well yourself.

Put on your best dress and high hilled shoes

Second, make your landing page the most beautiful lady or the most handsome gentleman on the entire web. Format the content in such a way that people would easily find the information they are looking for. Add some nice pictures; people adore pictures even if they look for information that requires reading. Use subheadings and listings to format the page and to make it easy on an eye and comprehendible. First of all think over your visitors and love them, treasure their time and efforts they make to consume your content. Make browsing your website a real holiday with lots of good surprises.

Navigate and Call to action!

Once you have made your visitor fall in love with your lading page, you need to take other steps to make them marry your website. The best way is to call to action and navigate. Put some relative in-text links that would lead the visitor to other beautiful rooms of our house. Show them all beauty you have. Call to action; ask them to do what you want them to do. Make sure all banners have right calls to action and visible enough.

If you don’t know which calls to action are right for your website; you can try Google Website Optimizer and try different things. The beauty of it is that you can test different content as many times as you want before you actually come up with what works best of all.

SEO: How To Write a Good Title Tag

SEO: How To Write a Good Title Tag

Unlike Willy Wonker’s Candy Factory, Google will not be handing out golden tickets to their algorithm anytime soon. And for those of us who are looking to build a successful SEO campaign, hard work, persistence and research still remains inevitable.

What we do know is that an effective SEO campaign rests on a variety of factors. From the mouth of Google we know that they use “more than 200 signals, including their patented PageRank™ algorithm, to examine the entire link structure of the web and to determine which pages are most important”

There are however a few tried and tested techniques that you can incorporate into your SEO campaign. But, keep in mind that SEO is an endurance race and often the results are only visible after a while. And by this we do mean a while….

On-site optimisation: The Title Tag

On-site optimisation by itself won’t get you to the first page of Google but it is important. Looking at the Title tag, it’s easy to see how people can make one of two mistakes. Either they suffer from “tweakophobia” (a term coined by Econsultancy blog writer Jaamit Durrani) or they are constantly tweaking their title tag and not giving it enough time to yield the desired result. Whichever the case, it’s always important to maintain a balanced outlook when doing on-site SEO.  Making changes to your title tag can be a good thing, especially if it’s the right type of changes.

Here are a few tips for writing a good title tag:

Know your targeted key phrase for each page and create your title tag around it
Do a Google search and refer to other sites that are ranking well for that specific key phrase. It’s always worth finding out what those “first page rankers” are doing right.
Use your targeted key phrase in the front of your title tag
Avoid using a generic set of title tags throughout your entire site. Google has never been fond of duplicated content.
Make each page’s title tag and meta information unique and specific to the content on that page
The title shouldn’t exceed 7, maximum 8 words or 64 characters. Google only shows the first 64 characters in the search results pages.
Keep your title tag readable. Like any headline, the title should grab the attention of the user and lead them to information that is relevant to the title tag.
Decide whether you want to use the “pipe” symbol, hyphen or comma in your title.  Some people believe that the “pipe” symbol commands more attention whereas others prefer the hyphen.  Once again, looking at the different pages that are displayed on the first page of Google always helps.

Article Marketing Tips-Can Everyone Write Articles?

Article Marketing Tips-Can Everyone Write Articles?

These Article Marketing tips might be of help to you. You might ask yourself, is article writing that hard? Well, lots of people write their own articles. But lots of people also complain that their articles don’t seem to attract the attention of intended readers—or any reader for that matter.

So the challenge really is not only whether you want to, or have enough time to write your articles: more importantly, it’s about whether you can write what people would want to read! And you don’t need me to tell you that any article that fails to attract the attention of readers has been written in vain.

But I must quickly add that writing articles doesn’t require amazing skill. However, like anything worthwhile, it does require some expertise and practice if one must do it right and reap the full benefits of marketing with articles.

There are basically three ways you can approach article writing: (1) write your articles yourself, (2) have someone write them for you, or (3) use internet-based article writing software. Due to space constraints, I’ll only discuss the first option with this article; writing by yourself.

Be the Actual Writer: You can write your articles yourself. Start by deciding what to write about. How you resolve this depends mostly on what your online business is about. Depending on your niche, simply type a word or phrase related to it on Google search, and do a bit of background research on what other websites and writers are saying about that subject.

Take some literal or mental notes as you read. No, you’re not going to reproduce these articles word-for-word, that’s plagiarism! Your aim in reading these other articles is to acquaint yourself with current discussions and latest developments surrounding those subjects.

This in turn should guide you as you write yours, so that you don’t end up supplying outdated information in your article—nobody likes stale news. And as you write your articles, try and break your information into series of closely-related paragraphs, all the while keeping the discussion conversational.

Your keyword or phrase should be used a few times in the article body, 4 times or so, depending on the length of the article. But do not overuse keywords, as if this is the only way to get your article indexed by ezines. In terms of length, 400 to 750 words should afford you enough opportunity to tell your audience what you want them to know—if you’re really knowledgeable about the subject. Bottom line is, keep your articles simple and informative.

Any reader requiring more detailed information can always contact you. Too lengthy an article discourages many potential readers at first glance. At the end of all of your articles, always populate the resource box. The information there is what will make readers to click back to your site, giving you free web traffic. If you skip this point, then when your articles fail to generate free traffic or leads to your website or blog, don’t forget this paragraph!

Also, do not make the mistake of trying to directly market your business opportunity with your articles. Both readers and ezine directories dislike the practice. Just supply the reader the information your title promised, and allow your resource box to do the rest! Having observed the rules above, submit your great articles to prime ezine directories and watch your traffic grow.

Writing your articles yourself can be slightly stressful, surely more time-consuming than hiring someone to do it for you. But if after weighing the options you’re still keen on doing it yourself, there you have the tips!

How To Write High Conversion Landing Pages For Google Adwords

How To Write High Conversion Landing Pages For Google Adwords

Google Adwords can be a real puzzle when trying to match your keywords to your ads and your landing page. When it comes to my business, I prefer to keep things simple. The way to do that with Adwords is to simply deliver what your ad promises. Whether you are setting up your first campaign or working to take your campaign to the next level, optimizing your landing page is always worth your time.

Too many Google Adwords marketers spend their time on keywords and ads, and leave the landing page out of the equation. Doing so can leave marketers scratching their heads when their cost per click remains high and conversions remain low. Despite all of the complicated theories about how to succeed with Google Adwords, it comes to this one fact: Google rewards or punishes its advertisers based on how well they solve the problem that Google’s searcher has. If your ad says “Learn Guitar In 2 Days” then the content on your landing page better have them playing like Eddie Van Halen within 48 hours. Anything short of that will, sooner or later, result in a Google “slap” where your impressions from Google Adwords are severely reduced or cut off altogether.

The following are seven elements for landing pages that Google Adwords will love (and will convert like crazy!):

1) Deliver on the promise of your ad – As I said before, this is the biggest key to success. If you solve the searcher’s problem/issue, you win. If your searcher clicks off of your page and begins another search, Google tracks it and penalizes you. Google rewards sites that deliver with lower costs and increased impressions.

2) Make your page original – Unlike in the past, mass produced “replicated sites” no longer work. Google values giving their searchers unique and high quality information. Mass produced site, with their duplicate content, was watering down Google’s search results so they put an end to their use by penalizing advertisers that used them. Your landing page is your chance to “wow” your visitor. Make it count by making your landing page unique, novel and personal. Google will reward you for ending a search on your landing page by lowering your cost per click and increasing your number of impressions.

2) One page does not fit all – Your visitors decide in just a few seconds whether to stay on your site or click off. Be sure the top of your page matches the ad they clicked on. This is where, as good marketer, you can really excel. Maximize your conversions across all ads by creating a landing page for each ad. This mainly involves customizing the top portion of the page. The rest of the page can remain the same for all pages.

3) Get to the point – The perfect length of your landing page is exactly as long as it takes to succinctly and effectively convey your message. No more, no less. Grammar counts! Leave the misspellings and bad punctuation for the amateurs.

4) Have a goal in mind for your visitors – Are you trying to make a sale or get a lead? Have a goal in mind before creating your page and write your copy to lead them to that conclusion. Focus on one goal per page.

5) Increase conversions with a bonus – Everyone responds to “Free.” Adding a bonus to sweeten the deal will increase conversions. Information products work great and they don’t cost you anything.

6) Credibility counts – You are an experienced, successful business person. Your page should convey that. Graphics should augment your page copy, not compete with it. Leaving white space on your page is a good thing. Also, do not set any audio or video on your site to launch automatically. Your page should welcome your visitor without overwhelming them.

7) Be trustworthy – Trust is a huge issue online. Anything you can do to be transparent is a plus. For example, are you a member of the Better Business Bureau? Put your member logo on your page! Same for site security certifications. Also, let your visitors know a little bit about you. Nothing really personal but you want your readers to feel like you are a real person.

This can seem like a lot to remember until you understand that all of these tips boil down to being a real and genuine person online. With billions of pages of content to wade through, people crave quality and trustworthy professionals to do business with. When you think about it, Google Adwords requirements are very straight forward. Be a professional and deliver on your promise, the same as in any other kind of business. Just these two simple things will give you a huge advantage over the competition.

How to Write Social Media Book Author Profile Pages to Attract Potential Readers

How to Write Social Media Book Author Profile Pages to Attract Potential Readers

If you are a book author who wants potential readers to find you on the internet, you want to be as visible as possible in places that those readers might be. And in almost every social media place that you sign up for – such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn – you are given the opportunity to write a profile about yourself.

What should these profiles say to effectively attract potential readers?

Twitter Has Only 160 Characters for Your Bio Info

Let’s start with Twitter with 160 characters max for your bio. Obviously you are going to put that you are a book author (perhaps fiction or nonfiction) and presumably you will have a book website URL for the “more info URL” field in your profile. What else are you going to say in those 160 characters? That depends.

Do you have a business besides being a book author? If so, you may want to put info about that business in your bio. Or is there a particular hook about your book that you want to get across in your bio? Perhaps your book is a novel based on a true story.

Your goal in the brief Twitter bio is to make yourself interesting enough (although all true) that people can find “connections” to you and want to follow you.

This means that you must not leave this bio blank. If you want people to follow you on Twitter, you have to be willing to share about yourself.

And remember that you can change this info easily. For example, if your book wins an award, you should consider changing your Twitter bio to reflect that award. Revisit your bio every couple of months to ensure that it presents the most up-to-date version of yourself.

Facebook Has Much More Space for Bio Info

Now let’s move on to Facebook, which has a longer bio section under info on your profile page with the ability to include as many of your own website URLs as you want.

Now here’s the often-overlooked extra of Facebook:

You can have a very brief bio section under your photo that people can see when visiting your wall page as well as your info page. This is a golden opportunity to get the most important points across in a very short space. Because, honestly, how many people are going to read all those long entries on your info page? (And for the long entries, do use lists instead of long, dense paragraphs.)

Take advantage of this brief, easy-to-read bio with the info you most want to share with your Facebook friends. Note that this may not necessarily be the same as the info you choose to share with your Twitter followers, even though in both cases you want to emphasize that you are a book author. And, again, update this brief Facebook bio every couple of months.

LinkedIn Has Its Own Peculiarities

Now for the third social networking site – LinkedIn. This site gives you a very brief space to put a few words under your photo along with the opportunity to provide a brief summary of your business. Book authors should take advantage of both places to convey their most important information. Then the rest of the profile info on LinkedIn is more job and career-oriented.

There is one important “trick.” LinkedIn only allows three website links. But don’t click on “My Company” or “My Website” or “My Blog” before putting in the links. Click on “Other” in each case. Then to the right of “Other” put descriptive words such as “Book Blog” or “Book Site.” You want potential readers to know they can find out about your book(s) at your sites.

As with your other social media profiles, revisit your LinkedIn profile info every so often to ensure that the info is up to date.

In conclusion, don’t make the mistake of thinking that these profiles are unimportant and thus you dash off writing the info. These profiles provide the information that helps make you interesting to potential readers. Spend as much time writing and revising these social media profiles as you would spend writing and revising any paragraph or page in your novel or nonfiction book.

How to Write Articles for the Web: 7 Tips

How to Write Articles for the Web: 7 Tips

How to write articles for the web: 7 tips

Let me start off by saying that writing is not a skill that you can acquire by enrolling in a university or by reading an e-book (God, what will they think of next?) or even an article that gives you tips. It is an art in itself. As thoughts are accumulated in the mind and are converted into words, the result can be seen on paper. That’s writing. But what we are talking about over here is a totally different subject. We are talking about writing for the web. The web or the virtual world is an extremely fast paced highway where patience is a virtue. Every average netizen (a citizen on the internet) has an extremely small attention span of 30 seconds to 60 seconds. If you are successful in holding the attention of the reader for this time duration, then you have won half the battle. The chances that he will read your complete article are increased manifold. Are you still reading this? Well, then I have managed to hold your attention for about 30 seconds now. See, it’s simple really.

Tip 1: Simple but attractive

This is the most overlooked fact about writing for the web. The copy needs to be simple but attractive. When I say simple, I mean that the copy should be focused on the subject, should be easy to read and grasp and should be meaningful and presented well. For example, if the reader is looking for information on ‘King Kong’ and you write a complete article with several references on how you were obsessed with the thought of an overgrown Gorilla tickling you, chances are that the reader will close the page in 10 seconds and curse you for making him read that. He needs information on King Kong, so give it to him first up. You can then go on with your creative bursts in the later part of the article. Did I forget to mention the importance of the headline? Its headlines that sell in the print media and headlines rule in the virtual world too. It should be power packed and strong.

Tip 2: Quality Research

If you are writing an article on a subject that you are not familiar with, then you better log on to Google. Make sure you have enough material to create a write up before you go ahead. The subject and the article progression should be clear in your mind before you even type the first word. And what if you do not find enough research material? Well, then it’s up to you. Remember the example in Tip 1 about King Kong?

Tip 3, 4 and 5: Do not Copy

I simply cannot emphasize the importance of this point. Please do not copy the work of some other writer. There are enough copy cats on the internet who simply re-arrange the words of some other article and make it their own. However, now there is software in place to counter this. Plagiarism will be detected immediately. So please do not even bother.

Tip 6: Converse, not dictate

Keep an open and friendly conversational tone throughout the article and the reader will connect with you. Do not keep a monotonous tone and use long tedious sentences in the article. It makes a very jarred reading experience.

Tip 7: The reader’s point of view

After you have written the article, read it from the reader’s point of view. Do you think that you have written a good article? How would you rate it if you were a reader? Did it serve the purpose that it was written for?

Remember; always conclude your article on a friendly and informal note.

Write Press Releases For Backlinks

Write Press Releases For Backlinks

One of your most important goals as a search engine optimizer is to get a lot of backlinks.

Press releases are just another very effective method to get one way links. If you sell an affiliate product you still can write press releases. You just have to think a bit more to come up with a story. That is the reason behind a press release. An article teaches, a press releases shares a story.

You can hire a ghostwriter to write your press releases, which you may want to write one every week or every month. Depends on your situation.

There are also specialized writers or services that only writer press releases. A ghostwriter may be cheaper but he or she may not be highly specialized in writing press releases. A specialized writer provides your press release with more benefits. The better written the more backlinks you can expect to get.

Once your press release is written by you if you learn how to do it, by a ghostwriter or a specialized writer you need to submit it.

There are software and even services to help you distribute your press release. Basically these submit it to press release directories. These are similar to article directories. There are also forums that accepts press releases. These forums unlike others do not have discussions but simple several sub forums with different categories and press releases.

The services submit also to places like newspapers, journalists and media. You get a lot more exposure. Not all services are equal. Some submit to a thousand directories while others do something different. So you need to make a bit of research to find the best deal.

Then stick with it and keep submitting your press releases week after week or month after month. You can even write a press release every day but that requires either a big budget to pay to writers or else a very creative mind.

Remember your press release needs to be written properly otherwise it will not be accepted.

The better written it is, the more backlinks and traffic you get.

So press releases should be used more or less like articles to get a lot of powerful one way links. These are obviously more powerful than links from directories. Backlinks from content

websites are better than those from sites with no content, but just a bunch of links.

So as a search engine optimizer aim to start implementing this strategy to get backlinks and to outrank your competitors. When you need backlinks, now you know what you can do.

Remember also you cannot spin your press release just like some webmasters do with articles. You need to submit the exact press release to all directories or the story looses value, you may ruin everything by spinning.

Spinning is when you pick up an article or come content and re write it in some way or another.

Press releases also provide you with a lot of traffic if it is written very well. It will spread like a virus on the Internet but it depends again how well written it is.

You can also put the press releases on your website. Create a new page, and put all of them on that page. This is content for your site or blog.
